Lakenheath Old Boys

We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Annoying Kids, but I think this is the LRC at LHS

I just typed in Lakenheath into youtube.com's search engine and I think this is the LRC at the High School. Best viewed with sound off. These kids act badly enough that Mary McGowan would have taken hemlock rather than to be associated with them.

Could be the library at LHS, but I honestly don't remember the area with the parquet flooring that they're using for a stage. Good find, though.

The best photo I remember of the library is the one that JDLC captioned, "We the Soccer Freaks...." If anyone has that one and feels like posting it, I'd love it.

To me it looks like the LRC. I remember some area of it, maybe around the periodicals that was parquet floored.

Davey, I think this is what the LRC(Library) at the high school looks like today.

I just plugged in Lakenheath to YouTube's search engine. Most of the vids are of half-arsed airmen screwing around but this to me looks architecturally like what a freshly painted, parquet floored, recarpeted LRC might look like now.

Doesn't look familiar at all.
I did go the youtube and did what you did.
There was a nine second video of a JV soccer player posing in goal. It was against Wiesbadden. Isn't it weird that the LHS league season includes trips to Germany.
I knew of this already because I was checking out pictures of Lakenheath soccer and there were pictures against German bases.
That would have been great going on European trips with our squad. We were born too early!!!

Away games in Wiesbaden would have been really fun. The Chunnel makes things like that possible. It was always the channel and the cost of crossing that was the hardship that the school couldn't bear.

European fixtures?! Fantastic! I would've loved it. The only thing close for us was that Science Fair boondoggle in Frankfurt, which was as close as LHS came to "doing a Heysel."

I've just stuck a tab for the blog on the Wikipedia page for "Lakenheath." Who knows - we may find out whatever happened to Mark Enderle!

I just looked through this website and it is pretty interesting. There are lots of pages. I wish there was something like this for us.
All we have is this!!(just kidding Bob)
I do wish there was something with this many memories.
