Lakenheath Old Boys

We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Footie Trivia Question of the Week

Red Devil Dave has been pleading for more devilishly difficult trivia questions, so here's one for you. I was able to come up with only ten of these, so I'll be mighty impressed if anyone gets all twelve right off the bat, even those who support London teams. Good luck to you!

"There are twelve professional football teams that play inside the M26 loop of Greater London (that is, not Watford, Luton or Wimbledon lads). Name them all."

I am not cheating... I am doing this off my head.
1) Arsenal
2) Spurs
3) Chelski(are they still in London or are they in Moscow)
4) Fulham
5) Charlton
6) Crystal Palace
7) QPR
8) West Ham
9) Leyton Orient
10) Brentford
11) Millwall
I don't know the twelfth.
Are you sure there are twelve?

Reading? Wycombe?

You've done better than I did on this one, mate. But there is one more and it's not Reading or Wycombe. It's a fairly new club in the lower divisions. It's in the Totteridge area of London at the end of the Northern line, if that helps.

Davey, we play them as a pre-season warm up every season. This year however, none of our players who played in the WC featured in that game and drew them 0-0. Oh dear.

Here's a follow-on trivia question, lads:

"What are the eight cities in England that have at least two professional football clubs in them?"

Manchester, Liverpool, London, Birmingham, Nottingham, Sheffield, Bristol, and Stoke.

Too bloody easy, eh? I thought you might have some trouble with Stoke with City and Port Vale there.

I got the seven off the top of my head and resorted to my NOTW annual to get Stoke. I'm not Davey-boy, after all.
