Lakenheath Old Boys
We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Wigan woop Citeh 4-0. Is Psycho in trouble
My thoughts are with you Bob. Good luck at Kennilworth Road. Not an easy match.
Who are you going to bring in? I just hope it isn't Denis Wise!!
Johnno's team is in worse form than Leeds. Let's hope they get their finger out soon!!
Come on POMPEY!!!
As for the Gooners, let's hope they go up in flames tomorrow at Reading. What are the chances that Lens goes off on a stretcher.
United have the big one tomorrow. I won't be able to follow it tomorrow because I have game.
Good news for Leeds.
Hull have given up a first minute goal against Preston
Chelsea haven't been out of their half in the first couple minutes. Come on Pompey
Heya Dave: You beat me to the posting this morning. Well in - you always did have more pace than I had on the pitch.
What on earth's going on at Citeh? Psycho won't be well pleased!
Yeah, Hull's crappness is the only thing keeping us off the bottom of the Coke table right now. I was hoping that would be the case with several other sides, but unfortunately we're crappier than even Wednesday, QPR or Colchester.
All right!!! I am not alone.
Who will be the first to be locked off this blog?
By the way, the pace has gone.
Norwich have just scored against Cardiff
Wednesday should go on a little run with a new manager.
Leeds should as well if they ever get a new one
Woo hoo, I do not like Cardiff. Don't want to see those leek eaters in the Prem. Good old Canaries.
No one's getting blocked off today. I did my blog dance before kickoff. I'm hoping Gooner will join us at some point after his trip back from Munich.
Apparently he saw Sol Campbell in a beer garden in Munich the day after he played for Pompey last weekend - odd, eh?
Yeah, Captain Birdseye needs to pull his finger out and get us a new manager - although I here that Dennis Wise is still top of the list. Heaven help us!
It couldn't have benn Sol
Luton 1 Leeds 0
Bugger
It was Sol - he had a chat with him about his time at Arsenal. Amazing, eh?
The radio is ahead of the TV. There is a goal at Goodison
Bugger, bugger, bugger! This bad run has to end at some point, doesn't it? Are we really going to end up in the bloody Third Division?
Why can't FSC show it live and not five minutes behind the times
Where have you gone Rob Hulse, the Elland Road faithful turn their lonely eyes to you....woo woo woo.
You guys will be ok. It is very early. A run of three games and you are midtable.
Wednesday are one up vs. QPR
Nice goal for Everton. Classic English style football with the Neviller chipping a nice ball in and Arteta nodding into the corner.
Palace are one up to Leicester
That's not good for us. Maybe the Tractor Boys will do something for us against Southend. I sound pathetic, don't I?
Leeds have equalized!!! Hayden Fox
Are you listening to Talksport?
Way hay! Good old Foxie! Fox in the box.
The Blades are rubbish, aren't they?
Wasn't Hayden Fox the name of the guy on the show "Coach" ?
Dunno, I never watched that show. He's the replacement for Matthew Kilgallon today, who got himself sent off in midweek against Leicester.
So how are Kathy and the kids. Is Matthew in high school yet?
You've got to think that Pompey will get something off Chelski today. The best thing about this year's Prem is that there are plenty of sides - Reading, Villa, Pompey, Bolton - who are capable of nicking points off the big boys.
Oi! Two things Davey-boy,
If you crash into Jens, it's you that's stretchered off. He'd have seen the guy leading with his elbow and Tony Schumachered him. The only way he leaves the pitch is by official invitation.
It bleedin' was Sol Campbell. At an Italian restaurant in Munich on the terrace, wearing a fabulously expensive leather jacket and designer casual wear and slouched down playing with his iPod Nano. I walked by him to clock him good so there was no mistake. Then I went back for a chat. He's a nice but cagey sort and had that confused reaction that Bob and I have noticed all British Footballers have had when approached by Americans who recognize them. One of the women in the travel agent group had a camera and if he'd been there after the meal, I'd have asked her to take my picture with him, but by that point he'd scarpered off.
I half expected that I'd read a story in the tabs this week that he was off to 1860, Unterhaching, or even Bayern, but nothing. Munich's a big club scene as well as the obvious beer draw, and Sol fancies himself a bit of an MC in the Nik Anelka sense, so maybe he was a guest spinner in some dank cavern there.
Did you get my postcard mien Italienish liebschien?
They are all doing well. Kathy and I play footer outdoor on Sundays and indoor on Thursdays. Kathy also plays on Mondays and Wednesdays. We have two games left for the outdoor season. We are 5 and 0. We will start another Monday night league in November.
The boys are busy. Thomas is in 8th grade and is on the Freshman team. Matt(5th) and Jon(3rd) are both playing Rec soccer. It was called off this morning because of too much rain.
Chelsea just had a goal called back.
GOOD
I did get the postcard - nice one, mate! Makes me pine for Europe.
HEY, Steve!!! Bob and I won't have to go alone this week.(not that there is anything wrong with that)
I did comment about the postcard yesterday on another posting. I was a little confused about it at first. We hadn't a clue who it was from. I figured it was from one of you guys because of the Skippy comment. I then saw the post from Bob saying that you were Munich bound.
By the way, Bob has proof of him and Freddie. You don't!!!
Were you snotty to Bob in his postcard?
The Tractor Boys are winning
Good old Ipswich. That's dropped Southend below us - we're now third bottom! Woo hoo!
Another goal at Goodison.
He shouldn't have been sent off
Penalty for Everton - pretty clear decision there, but I don't like how the refs are sending players off in these situations - either one or the other. Yellow and penalty. Shame.
Beattie steps up...and slots home. Unselfish stuff from Andy Johnson, who usually takes the pens but wants to help out his striking partner.
I don't think it was not much of a penalty.
Do you like the rule of sending him off?
I feel that if the foul is outside the box and he is the last man, send him off. If they get a penalty that is enough punishment.
Your thoughts
Bob, you said the same thing as me. If it is a pen, yellow.
If outside the box, Red
Leicester have tied it up with Palace
Preston are two up against Hull
Yeah, it changes the match too much to have both. The Blades are dead in the water now - no way back. It kills off the game. Although, I bloody hate the Blades - I'd like to see them hammered 8-0.
Live League Table
Leeds are up to 22nd
Yes, Hull City are going down, down, down!
Yes, we'll need a win in order to get any further up, as Barnsley are ahead of us on points even if they lose today.
So, are you confident about tomorrow, Dave? I would be, as Liverpool aren't in the greatest form and they don't seem to play Crouchie in the Prem.
Shame it's on Setanta - we're getting Arsenal vs. Reading at 11 a.m.
Not according to my sources.
The live table I am looking at with Sky.
Barnsley have 13 with their point they have today.
Leeds have 11 with their point.
If Barsnley lose they lose a point and go to twelve.
If Leeds win the will get tow more points and be on 13.
Isn't it sad that we are finding ways to get the Yorkshire Scum out of the bottom three
I think it will be a draw tomorrow. Liverpool always do well against us. We always did well against them when Liverpool were winning all their leagues. Now they are doing it to us.
Again, I won't be able to follow because of my game.
Do the clocks change in England tonight. They normally go a week before us
Yeah, that's what I mean. We need to win in order to progress any further today. Otherwise we're still in the drop zone.
I was thinking last night that you used to be worried about Leeds and always rooted against them. You're sympathy for Leeds now is just further indication of how useless and irrelevant we are. You're more worried about bloody Wigan now than us!
Yeah, I think they do go back tonight.
Rob Hulse nearly there. Good save from Timmy Howard.
Another excellent move from Hulse and fine save from Howard.
Would you like me to start hating Leeds again?
It is easily done
Yes, that would make me feel better. Your sympathy is mere condescension.
Ooh, Johnson should've made is 3-0. Off the post.
Back from the farmer's market with my napoleon and my sausages for the ragout tonight. Bleedin' hell, looks like I'll have to watch the half time roundup for this one.
I love seeing that pained look on Warnock's face. Love it.
Napoleon? Ragout? Sounds like someone's got bitten by the "foodie" bug? Next stop - Bravo's "Top Chef!"
Here's your half-time wrap up from 365:
"A quick round-up of the Championship action sees leaders Cardiff trailing 1-0 at Norwich while under-pressure Birmingham manager Steve Bruce will give his half-time teamtalk with his side goalless away to Derby. Leeds are looking to arrest their awful run and go into the break drawing 1-1 at Luton. Meanwhile, in the top-of-the-table clash in League One Nottingham Forest continue to lead 1-0 at home to Bristol City."
Chelski still 0-0 with Pompey but banging hard on the door. And 2-0 here at Goodison. Not so many games in the Prem today, as ManYoo and Liverpool and you lot are all playing tomorrow. This loss by the Blades should drop them into the relegation zone, if the Hammers can do anything tomorrow.
Ipswich are taking Southend apart - now 3-0! Lovely.
Oh dear, suddenly Chelski are two up through goals from their new boys - Sheva and Bollock. Shame, that'll no doubt give them confidence.
Worse than that - Luton have scored two goals in quick succession and we're suddenly 3-1 down. Dear oh dear - when will it end?
Hull have pulled one back too - if we aren't careful we could end up dead last tonight. Our goal difference must be apocalyptic at this point.
Rob Hulse is to good for this side. He'll be plying his wares with us in the Coke again next season.
Luton 4 Leeds 1 (sigh)
Pompey have got one back and it's a real ding dong at Stamford Bridge. I'd love to see them level it.
It's all over at Goodison with the Blades succombing 2-0 as expected. It never really was a match after the penalty/red card incident, even though United gave it a go in the second half.
