Lakenheath Old Boys
We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Good to hear from you but you never answered the damn trivia question... so you are wrong
I'm going to guess Marco Tardelli because I seem to remember that he scored the classic fourth goal for the Italians in the final in 1982 but he must really have been a wee lad in 1974.
I do remember that Brazil bored the hell of us in the opener against some no-hoper in 1974 games, so perhaps he scored the first goal for the Italians in the second or third match of the tournament.
That's the best I can do - thanks for the question, Davey-boy.
Sorry, that is incorrect. By the way, Tardelli scored Italy's second goal of three in the Final.
Shows you what a crap memory I have. I could've sworn they won 4-1 with Tardelli scoring the last. But I suppose it's because his celebration with the wobbly head going is so memorable. It reminds me of Joel whenever I see it.
Okay, second guess - Graziani?
Alrighty, one more guess - bloody Paulo Rossi - howzat!?
And here's a trivia question for you - should be right up your alley since it's about Pompey:
"Which famous British author was Portsmouth's first goalkeeper?"
Go to it, mate!
You're wrong again but at least your trying. Everyone else, you suck!!!
I will think about the Pompey keeper
I'm thinking it must be a German then. Have no clue which one though.
well done Johnny boy.
A little over the top I think!!!
What about the first Pompey goalkeeper, Dave? Got it yet?
Rudyard Kipling, and after he retired, he still managed to make exceedingly good cakes.
Nice one, Gooner, but I'm afraid that you're well off. Believe it or not it was one Sir Arthur Conan Doyle or Sherlock Holmes fame, which no doubt accounts for the fact that Pompey languished in the lower reaches for so long. Doubt whether he was any good between the sticks.
Interesting bit of trivia this.
I reckon it was the opium that ACD smoked. It should stand as a lesson to Rio and Anton to knock the Ganga habit, but you'd have to find someone patient enough to read this tidbit to the Sticky-icky-icky Bros.
