Lakenheath Old Boys

We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Arsene tries to remember the French word for Schadenfreude

Huge surprise! Pardew out. West Ham can now fight their way out of the relegation zone without that albatross around his neck.

See, the interesting thing linguistically is that there isn't a direct translation of schadenfreude into any other language. That is, it's one of those words that definitely defines a culture. "La dolce vita" works for Italian, "deja vu" for French, and perhaps "weekend" for English.

In any case, Pardew had to go, eh? The four-nil drubbing at the hands of Bolton was certainly the last straw. The options don't seem so good, though - Sven? Curbs? Ian Dowie, for chrissakes!? Of the list I've seen, I'd reckon that El Tel is the best bet. Sir Trev, your team needs you!
