I reckon that they're showing the Tamworth vs. Norwich game at noon because the only game that'll be kicking off live at that time is the Liverpool vs. Arsenal, which Setanta will have gobbled up. Bloody Irish gangsters!
In any case, the Forest vs. Charlton game should be of interest. I'll be with you until you get knocked off the blog for your bad ManYoo karma.
I wonder if Stef still follows the Canaries. It does get tempting when you live in this country for so long to just go with the crowd and start watching the American sports. All the talk around these parts this weekend is about the National Championship game between Ohio State and my beloved Gators tomorrow in Arizona. I'm sure very few are ken to the F.A. Cup.

They just showed the Arsenal vs. Charlton highlights from last weekend - there was a handshake between Arsene and Alan. About time they cut that nonsense out.
Jose just referred to the holidays as "this disgraceful period." He must have not got what he wanted from Father Christmas! Seriously, though, a lot of whinging about the four games over the period. Still, these players don't play anything like the kind of schedule that the big sides used to in the 70s.
Since Tamworth are being knocked out, there is only Aldershot, playing Blackpool, flying the flag for non-league football.

I don't always think a cup run is bad for league play. It gets the confidence up and it helps you in the league.
Of course, in the '92 season, Man Utd knocked out Leeds in both cup competitions and Leeds went on to win the league!!!

Two Premiership sides are in trouble - Newcastle and Charlton. Another two will be knocked out today - either Liverpool/Arsenal or Pompey/Wigan and another one tomorrow in ManYoo/Villa. Could open up some space for the smaller sides in the competition.

Full-time: Arsenal have beaten Liverpool at Anfield 3-1 and were pulling away at a canter at the end. This will be a result that resounds around the game in the coming weeks. It definitely looks as if Arsenal are rejuvenated with TH-14 back in the fold.
Great result for us. The league seems out of reach, the CL likely not with Lyon and Inter as good as they do, so I'm happy to see us still in the hunt for a gong this year.

I am back from watching United sneak through against Villa.
Larssen looked really good and scored on his debut 10 minutes into the second half.
Villa scored the equaliser but Ole scored in the 91st minute when his shot slipped underneath the keeper.

Thanks for the invitation. It'll much depend on the job situation. As you know, we're not entirely happy in Jax although it's been a comfy place for us to land after Japan. We're looking to make a move. Right now, we've got job applications out for colleges in places with two jobs. They are:
* Muncie, Indiana
* Kent, Ohio
* Richmond, Virginia
* Philly
* NYC
And we may not get anything this year. It's a bit premature for me to be applying for assistant prof. jobs now because I haven't yet got through my qualifying exams and there isn't a lot out there for KC this year. But we'll see.
