606 Football Stories
Hey lads: I just wanted to alert you to a special project that BBC Radio Five Live 606 has been conducting this season. They're collecting audiotapes of fans talking about their favorite footballing stories and occasionally they broadcast the best of the lot. If you download the 606 podcast from December 31, 2006, you'll get a load of goodies. The first one about the fan celebrating Paul Merson's goal for England against Czechoslovakia is worth the effort alone. Enjoy!

Cheers Bob. Great Shanks story too. Is this a regular thing on the 606?
I used to download it, but got tired of the fans who called in and texted after the match. Nitwits, the lot, moaning about refs, divers, team selections, etc, and worst, triumphalist Chelski and Yernited fans. Couldn't unsubscribe fast enough.
But if I could cherry-pick this series out, I would. Thanks for the pick
It's a special thing they're doing. Supposedly collecting six hundred and six stories that will be accessible on their website. This is the first capsule summary that they've done. Other than that, it's the "bloke stuck on the M6 whinging about Bury's form" show that you love so well.
I'd appreciate it if when you saw more of these, if you could let me know. Cheers.
On the numptie from Bury theme, I really wanted to give Nick Geber a good kicking last night, but couldn't get my call through. Shame.
