Lakenheath Old Boys
We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

I'm happy for Becks because I love the guy, but there's no way to interpret this move but as a cave in by McClown. Becks was originally dropped because McClown wanted to send a message that he was his own man and for fear that Becks would have a big influence on the dressing room. Bringing Becks back just smacks of desperation.
Worse than that, about a third of the squad is not of international quality, including:
Phil Neville
Wes Brown
Michael Dawson
Nicky Shorey
Stuart Downing
Kieron Dyer
Jermaine Jenas
I shows us again definitive proof that England have a competitive starting eleven but (with the inevitable injuries and suspensions) don't have enough depth to navigate the latter stages of a big tournament.
Thank goodness we're only playing Estonia, but Brazil could really embarrass England next weekend.
At this moment, I am listening to 606 and there is a great interview with Becks a day before he was recalled to the England squad. It is a great listen.
Give a listen.
I'll check it out - when he's coming back to the U.S.? Mid June? The boy better light it up in the MLS!
I'm inclined to echo Bob's sentiments as to the dead wood listed here.
Pip Neville and Brown had decent enough seasons as club players. But still, if it were not for a poverty of choice and a definite poverty of imagination, you'd let them eke out careers at their level and not exhibit their lack of international quality. Dawson's inclusion is really insane. Anyone who watched Spurs this year has to wonder if they'd have been true 3rd or 4th spot finishers but for a shambolic defense of which Dawson was a leader. His reward for scuttling their CL hopes for next season should have been a transfer to the lower division rather than a chance at another England cap. I don't like Downing, but 2nd-choice Steve does so his inclusion is not surprizing but it is disappointing.
I don't know if they're injured but where's Scott Parker and Micah Richards in this list if they're fit?
When will Dean Ashton and Ledley King be fit?
Of course I meant Woodie even though I wrote Ledley.
Not good news today. Rio's out of the picture - as is Michael Dawson (not exactly bad news, though) - which means that the back four will be makeshift against Brazil. They may even go with a back three, but most are predicting Carragher to partner John Terry in the middle, for McClown to opt with five in midfield including Becks on the right and (yikes) maybe wee Mikey on his lonesome up front.
I've finally had a chance to go back and listen to the interview with Becks from Saturday's 606. It is a good one. I particularly liked his ruminations on corn dogs. He's either the nicest guy or the thickest plank on the planet, I can't quite sort out which.
Bit of both, more of the former is my assessment.
