Lakenheath Old Boys

We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

It's Official!!
West Ham United will be playing in the Premier League next season.
Today, the arbitration panel dismissed Sheffield United's claim over the Tevez affair.

Well, the impartial judge in me says that the Hammers were probably guilty and lucky to escape punishment. However, the partisan in me hates everything Sheffield United and is happy to see West Ham in the Premiership.

Yesterday, was quite the day for partisan "judicial" rulings . . .on both sides of the pond!

I guess it isn't completely over.
The Blades have now launched a High Court appeal.
How about not losing at home to a team behind you!!!
GIVE IT UP!!!!

I'm surprised that the FA announced their decision so early in the summer. I fully expected them to announce it a few days before the start of the season, leaving the Blades with no time for an appeal. In the end, I suspect that they're looking for a monetary pay-out rather than reinstatement to the Premiership, which is a non-starter at this point. Adding another team to the Prem. would be a logistical nightmare and I can't see West Ham being dropped in favor of Sheffield Utd.

I think the Gator's right on the eventual outcome of this. Probably there's more of a fine coming down the pipe-line because adding Sheffield United back into the Prem after the fixtures have already been released is too hairy an issue to solve. The FA are numpties though and could this finally, finally spur real reform there? That for me would be the best outcome of this farce.

I do have to admit that whatever ill befalls Warnock and United, I could really care less. They stank up the Prem while they were there and if they'd bothered to play a bit of football rather than just push other players over, they'd have stayed up on points.
