Lakenheath Old Boys

We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Footie Trivia Question of the Week

It's the Champions League Gameday 1 up this week, so here's one for all you big boys dreaming of European glory:

"Who are the top three goalscorers in the history of the Champions League? (Hint, that is only goals since the competition's founding in the 92/93 season).

Good luck, lads!

We occasionally get some spam here, so I just deleted the berk.

Spot on with Raul (Real Madrid) and Ruud (Yernited and Real). Raul's on 46 goals and Ruud on 44. Any guesses on the third spot?

Pippo Inzaghi, I bet. Goalhanger extraordiario is my guess for the third.

Good guess, but Pippo is actually #5 on the list. Not enough goal-hanging obviously. One of his former Milan colleagues, however, is the #3.

The very same. We have to remember that Sheva was a decent striker before he came to Stamford Bridge.

Thanks for playing, lads.

By the way, I heard a brutally difficult trivia question on WSD yesterday:

"Which North American club featured the former captains of England, Scotland and Northern Ireland playing for them in the early 60s?"

Go on, give it go!
