Lakenheath Old Boys
We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Are we loving this or what? Another match to savor today.
Quite a nice anthem there from Barbados. A bit long - the Wembley boo boys would have to have big lungs or give up before the end.
The U.S. side for today:
Guzan, Pearce, Bocanegra, Cherundolo, Onyewu, Mastroenni, Beasley, Bradley, Dempsey, ,Donovan, Ching.
And we're off from the Home Depot Center in LA...
GOAL! Dempsey slots home an easy first goal. We're only a minute in here and this could be fun!
Bocanegra just played a routine long ball over the top but he found Dempsey alone in the box and he had no problem keeping his low shot under the keeper.
USA 1-0!
It's Clint's 10th goal for the national side.
Another breakaway and Dempsey was bundled over. Could have been a red card there as he was surely the last man back but perhaps the ref is being kind.
Pearce was in on the right but his cross was woeful.
Brad Guzan is likely to be mighty lonely today.
Good ball through but Ching couldn't take it in his stride. It would be great to see a useful partnership developed against inferior opposition today.
Ching misses an open goal from a free kick opportunity. That looked awkward.
Pearce gives away a needless corner there. I much prefer Jonathan Bornstein in that role.
GOAL! A massive scramble ends with the keeper saving from Ching but Bradley stabs it home.
USA 2-0!
Bradley scored fifteen goals for Heerenveen this season but that's only his second for the national squad. He's expected to go to either Boro or Everton in the fall.
In Conmebol qualifying today, Brazil have been defeated by Paraguay 2-0, which puts Paraguay on top of the table and four points ahead of Argentina. Brazil are in fourth, a point ahead of Venezuela. Brazil and Argentina are scheduled to play on Wednesday. Will an Argentina win mean the end of the line for Dunga? Hope so.
GOAL! Nice short corner between Donovan and Beasley, Landon plays square and Pablo Mastroenni blasts one home deflected off Ching. Who will claim it? It's either Pablo's first international goal or Ching will poach it.
Freddy Adu has come on for Pablo Mastroenni who's been disguised as a "left gluteus strain." In other words, he's been felled by a butt ache.
Freddy Adu plays a nice ball in and Bradley headed just wide.
That third goal has been awarded to Brian Ching - it's his sixth for the U.S. national team.
A dangerous free kick, the keeper went walkabout and unfortunately no U.S. striker had the presence of mind to tuck in a fourth.
Bradley gets a free shot at the top of the box but can't keep his shot low enough.
Half time: 3-0 USA
Well, that breezed by in a hurry. I would have liked to have seen a fourth but we've been in control from the start.
Second half coming up....
No changes to the U.S. side at the start of the half.
Full-time: Well, that was fun. I got interrupted from the blogging in the second half by a phone call but it was fun watching the goals fly in. The U.S. end up 8-0 winners, with Ching scoring probably the only hat-trick he'll ever get in an international.
