Lakenheath Old Boys

We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Gator on World Soccer Daily

Just to let you lot know, I got onto World Soccer Daily yesterday to pick a bone with the boys about their choice of Marcos Senna as Euro 2008's best player. Listen to me run rings round them logically by downloading from iTunes. I'm the first caller and the exchange occurs about thirty minutes in.

Finally got a chance to download this one today. Good job defending your POV. I thought Cohen and the other guy didn't bother to talk your point through, thus making their claim to appreciating free-flowing football a bit of a nonsense.

Cohen in particular is compromised because of his love for the Chelski Blues. He knows that his club's recent success is all about scummy Russian money. The other element is that those guys are entrepreneurs, so they tend to be in favor of corporate money and schemes in the game (e.g. Sky tv revenue, the 39th Prem game, European superleague).

It's interesting, though. They continued to talk about the issue throughout that show and into the next day and several people called in on both sides of the issue. Good stuff.
