Lakenheath Old Boys

We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

The Cellar

Suddenly we have an exciting run-in to the Premiership season. All of the attention will be directed to the title race between United and Liverpool. However, an equally compelling story is brewing at the bottom of the table.

Here's how I see the table at the end of the season:

16. Portsmouth - 38 points
17. Stoke City - 38
18. Newcastle - 36
19. Middlesboro - 33
20 West Brom - 28

What do the rest of you think?

Because I am a "hopeless romantic", I think Newcastle are going to survive. I think it will be WBA, Boro and Blackburn

It's possible but I think Blackburn just survive because of their run-in.

They start on 31 points this weekend, needing nine points to assure survival:

Spurs at home (1 point)
Liverpool away (0 points)
Stoke away (1 points)
Wigan at home (3 points)
Citeh away (1 point)
Pompey at home (1 point)
Chelsea away (0 points)
West Brom at home (3 points)

By that reckoning, they end at 41 points, well out of danger. I'd love to wave bye bye to Fat Sam but I don't see it.
