A Big Day of International Footer
It's another big day dominated by South Africa 2010 qualifiers, with most groups coming down to the wire. It all starts in a moment with the usual 3 pm GMT Football League kick-offs. England start their "dead rubber" against Ukraine at 12:15 EST and it all wraps up later tonight at 10 pm EST with the U.S. in a crucial away qualifier in Honduras. Should be fun - anyone care to join me on the LOB?

The Leeds match away to Bristol Rovers has been postponed. I'm not sure whether that has something to do with the internationals today or some other scheduling issue. It gives our main rivals Charlton a chance to catch us. They're at home to Oldham.
Wales are back in it, through a goal from in-form Craig Bellamy.

The Dons are up into 3rd place on 23 points on the strength of that goal against Walsall. Colchester in 4th. Bristol Rovers in 5th, both on 22 points. BR obviously have a game in hand against us.

I'm still on the original Iraq Goals link. It goes out once in a while but seems to reboot fairly quickly. I don't think I've missed that much. It's a definite two fingers up to the Internet mob who think that they can get us to shell out for this stuff.
It seemed as if the referee had stopped the clock entirely during the first stoppage for flare removal. Three minutes seems adequate. One goal, one penalty, the James substitution.

Sounds like Ukraine will be in pole position if they pull out the win tonight. I'd prefer to have neither Ukraine not Croatia in the WC next summer. I'd much rather see Portugal, Sweden or Denmark, one of which look like they might miss out.
