The teams are in and Arsenal have left Nicklas Bendtner on the bench today. Arsenal: Mannone, Sagna, Gallas, Vermaelen, Clichy, Fabregas, Song Billong, Diaby, Rosicky, van Persie, Arshavin.

The teams are coming out of the tunnel at the Emirates. Looks like an overcast day in London.

With United dropping two points to Sunderland yesterday and Liverpool and Chelski playing today, Arsenal have the opportunity today to pick up some points on their big rivals by dispatching 14th placed Blackburn.

Just beaten for height there. That's poor.

Dear oh dear - Blackburn have had the temerity to take an early lead!

Route one stuff there - long ball from Robbo and it was nodded on over a prone Mannone. The young Italian keeper looked a bit dodgy on that one.

0-1 Blackburn!

Morning, Gooner! Sorry about the early goal. Didn't see that coming.

Nice interplay there but Rosicky's final shot was well off the mark. Good to see the Czech schemer back in the pink though.

Vermaelen was too close to the scorer and second best to the challenge. Mannone was left in no-man's land by the looping nature of the ball.

8:40 AM
Blogger The Blue Devil said...

Agreed - Vermaelen looks the biz going forward but I'm not sure about his defensive abilities yet.

Which link are you on, mate? I'm on the first MyP2P one but it's not doing so well.

We're definitely a bit suspect against mutts like these that hoof it forward to the big lad.

I'm sure that the plan was for Djourou to take over from Billy Gallas this season. Pair a big guy with a smaller quicker guy like Vermaelen.

I'm bouncing from feed to feed here. Nothing's very reliable.

8:47 AM
Blogger gooner71 said...

Well, I've just managed to see a replay of the goal that you must have seen. Makes Mannone look very bad.

8:49 AM
Blogger gooner71 said...

Oh yesssss! Vermaelen snaps one in from over 30 yards into the left corner. 1-1. Take that you Orks.

8:50 AM
Blogger gooner71 said...

Tell you what though, they keep thundering the ball high into the air and forward. 1-Mannone must be quick off his line to collect, like he did just there. 2-The forwards and midfielders need to get tight with the man hoofing it forward.

That's their main threat and it can be met.

Close there. Fabregas belts one at Robbo who characteristically spills it in front of RVP. Close, but Robbo recovers, but may have done his back in. He's not comfortable.

8:56 AM
Blogger gooner71 said...

Mannone comes racing out of his area and Dunne just levels him with a WWF move. Where's the card ref? I think we've got to get a decision on Almunia's date of return. Vito's decision making is really troubling so far.

9:00 AM
Blogger gooner71 said...

Our midfielders are not pressing enough (exception-Song) when we lose possession and allowing Blackburn to launch these long shuttle mission balls.

And f--kssake, it's Dunne who gets a deflection off Gallas and it's 1-2. Nothing Mannone could do there. It all breaks down because no-one closed down the break after Fabregas' shot was saved at the other end.

I'm hating this.

9:04 AM
Blogger The Blue Devil said...

Cheers, mate. Between trying to find a reliable source and doing my own bagel and coffee, I've missed three goals now.

9:07 AM
Blogger gooner71 said...

Instant response. Fabregas feeds RVP and there's no mistake. Wallop across Robbo's body and it's in the left corner.

We must shut these animals down now. Especially Dunne. He's on borrowed time in my estimation. He's having real joy against Sagna and I'm sick of it

They keep showing crowd pictures of Piltdown, chewing his cud. It's too early in the morning to see him. He should be forced to wear a burka because my breakfast is coming back up at the sight of him.

Lolz!

Blogger gooner71 said...

3-1! Arshavin, but I couldn't tell you how it happened because my feed took a dive. As it's doing again now.

I think that because ATV and Setanta have these closed circuit home games, they've got a net-sheriff closing all these pirate feeds all the time.

Good to see that Dioff is taking a kicking there that goes unpunished. He's getting a talking too. Is there another player in the league with an uglier look on his face? Yellow for you, you tit.

9:13 AM
Blogger The Blue Devil said...

Blimey! 3-2! Arshavin gives the Gunners the lead. What a ding dong! The Emirates getting their pound's worth today.

9:14 AM
Blogger gooner71 said...

3 Arsenal defenders there, presumably Gallas, Vermaelen, and Song all beaten in the air by De Santos who really is a Piltdown architipe player. Big dude with a forehead.

At the other end, RVP with a cross to Fabregas. Robbo JUST beats it away but that could have easily been four.

9:18 AM
Blogger gooner71 said...

RVP gets a card for dissent but he was right because Chimboda dove there and made something of nothing there. God, Blackeye are chocka with the least attractive players possible.

Half time. 3-2 at midpoint.

9:22 AM
Blogger The Blue Devil said...

RVP gets carded for a robust challenge right before the half-time whistle. Too bad this isn't on ESPN2. It would definitely have won a few converts away from hockey.

This feed's Australian! Why the hell can't we get this here. Bloody Premiership.

I've just noticed that Rangers pipped Celtic 2-1 in the Old Firm match earlier this morning. Condolences go out to Someone Said.

The Arse are up into 5th on the strength of this half-time lead, ahead of Citeh also on 15 points. Fat Sam and his Blackburn side now deep in the relegation battle on 7 points.

9:39 AM
Blogger gooner71 said...

Blackburn have really started to give this a go. Dunne stopped by Vermaelen and the Aussie commentator here says we wouldn't have any complaint if the ref had awarded a pen. I would, cobber.

And some dude I've never seen before hit a scorcher from distance that met Mannone at a good height for him.

At the other end, RVP gets a chance smothered by Robbo and then whips the next one just over.

Game on.

9:44 AM
Blogger gooner71 said...

Thanks for the stats. Nothing would give me more pleasure today than to think my team has heaped trouble on these guys. I'm sick of their stink in this division.

9:45 AM
Blogger gooner71 said...

Thierry Henry in the crowd with a little girl next to him. His daughter? Immediately followed by a tight shot of Piltdown. UUUUUURPP! I've just been sick in my mouth.

9:47 AM
Blogger The Blue Devil said...

I would love to see Blackburn, Stoke and Bolton go down this season, but I don't think it's going to happen. Sure, Pompey pulled off a good win yesterday but they're in deep, deep trouble. Not sure what's going on at West Ham and Fulham but they're not looking too clever either. And then you've got Hull, Wolves and Wigan. Let's face it - the bottom half of the division is a load of rubbish.

9:52 AM
Blogger gooner71 said...

OHHHHHHH! What a peach of a strike from Fabregas. He just belted it. Great angle because as soon as he met it, you could see that it was going to blaze in. 4-2 and a bit of breathing room early in the second half.

9:52 AM
Blogger The Blue Devil said...

I've lost all feeds now. Just following on 365.

9:53 AM
Blogger gooner71 said...

Exactly. Pompey do look like goners already, exspecially when they're not meeting player payrolls. West Ham, Hull, Wolves, Wigan, probably Burnley, Blackburn and maybe Fulham all look in trouble. That's 7 right there, and what's going to keep any of them up at this point is the crappness of their relegation rivals.

Dunne's getting way too many chances. He's just a grafter and it's embarrassing that he's looking good this game. Tighten up, dammit.

Delighted to see Dunne come off though really very poor showing from us that the big spud looked good against us.

On comes Benni McCarthy who has history of a good day against us. No complacency here boys.

Here we go forward and it ends with a venomous drive from Rosicky that ends up wide and high. Bit of a rush of blood because there was Arshavin putting himself available in a good position to have a go himself.

10:01 AM
Blogger The Blue Devil said...

Exactly, Pompey could easily go the way of Southhampton. I've been shocked by their season so far. After eleven matches they've finally crawled into the black but they're still ten points from safety. That is, they'd be in the relegation zone even if they'd started at 0 points. They could easily end up in L2.

10:02 AM
Blogger gooner71 said...

In a perfect world, Cesc would put Cesc through, Cesc would then pick out Cesc and Cesc would rattle it in. Instead we get Cesc to Sagna who drives a ball in behind RVP and Blackeye clear it behind.

Rosicky with another powerful but wayward drive.

10:04 AM
Blogger gooner71 said...

The feed came back and now it's Iain bloody Darke and that Paul Walsh dunce. A long 35 minutes to go then.

Blackeye line up a free from a harsh hand-ball call. Thanks, Benni for a powerful looking backpass.

10:06 AM
Blogger The Blue Devil said...

Cheers, mate. This link looks pretty decent.

10:08 AM
Blogger The Blue Devil said...

Here comes Theo. Great to see him back on the pitch.

10:10 AM
Blogger gooner71 said...

The crowd is getting agitated as Blackeye's tactics get less and less sophisticated and the ref allows play to go on because we retain possession. I wonder what would happen if he carded 7 of the Blackeye players. Would they carry on this way or would they try to play a game of football.

McCarthy has taken a knock. He might be Dunne. Thank-you, I'm here all week.

Hey, there's Theo looking like he's ready to come on. Yes, for Rosicky. Arsene's throwing Theo in at the deep end against these butchers. I don't like this at all. They could seriously harm him.

10:11 AM
Blogger gooner71 said...

Yep, that's Benni's cameo finished and a Canadian kid comes on.

The ref's got to keep his wits about him now. Blackburn have nothing positive on the pitch now and Brett Emerton lurking like the psycho he is.

10:13 AM
Blogger gooner71 said...

Blackeye have a guy in defense that looks like he's a half-transformed werewolf. Get the silver bullets out and loaded.

10:15 AM
Blogger gooner71 said...

Chrissakes, we're playing silly buggers in defense again. No one clears it to safety, just passing it to an open player in defense and Blackeye keeps after it. It finally ricochets off the post and Mannone was no-where again.

On the break we play 4 balls through them, Diaby and Fabregas interplay between each other and Diaby drives it just wide.

10:19 AM
Blogger gooner71 said...

On the replay, it shows that it came off Vermaelen's head before it hit the post.

Blackeye are in our area again and our defenders look all at sea. I hate this.

Balll breaks to Arshavin who runs it into their area. Pass goes to Walcott and he scores!!!!!!!!

Walcot with #5

I love this.

10:21 AM
Blogger The Blue Devil said...

Loving it too. Here's a tricky question for Fabio - Theo or Lennon on the right for next summer. Or do you try one of them out on the left?

10:22 AM
Blogger gooner71 said...

We've scored again and now it's 6-2 in the 91st. My feed went walkies again so I don't have a scooby about that one. Why isn't this on the telly Fox?

10:25 AM
Blogger The Blue Devil said...

Yeah, missed that one. Bendtner with a screamer apparently. 6-2! Bloody hell!

10:27 AM
Blogger The Blue Devil said...

And that's full time - that's got to put a smile on your Sunday.

I'm looking forward now to the big one and getting a chance to see it on the telly.

10:28 AM
Blogger The Blue Devil said...

The Hammers have taken the lead through Carlton Cole in the 16th minute. That launches them out of the drop zone. Fulham very much mired in it.

10:29 AM
Blogger gooner71 said...

Walcott then Lennon. Lennon's a little frantic for my liking and Theo's more composed in my opinion. If Theo gets a healthy run, he'll make Don Fabio's decision very easy.

6-2 is the final and it was Bendtner with a cracker of his own for our sixth. I saw the Arshavin one too and it came from good interplay with RVP.

This is the way to start a Sunday. Wahey!

Everton vs. Stoke has started at Goodison. Both sides safely in mid-table. Neither will do anything this season but they'll end up in mid-table IMHO.
