If it's Tuesday, it must be mid-week footie time!
Another day, another set of key matches throughout the English game, with Chelski hosting Bolton in the Premiership and a full schedule of L1 matches, including Leeds United's trip to Carlisle. We're hoping to turn around that disappointing YPT result from February and take one more step toward automatic promotion. Join me if you're around this afternoon.

I've got a nifty link up for the "Football Special" tonight:

In L2, Rochdale and Notts County have a chance to get promoted tonight based on various results.
Carlo Ancelotti has referred to tonight's clash at Stamford Bridge as "the most important game of the season." A win would take them four points clear of United.
Grayson has grown a big pair of hairy ones tonight. He's dropped lead scorer Jermaine Beckford to the bench after a real goal drought. Since January, JB has only scored three goals after notching 24 in the first half of the season.
It's Becchio and Gradel - the two goalscorers from Saturday - who will lead the line for Leeds tonight. Snoddy and Doyle tucking in behind them.
Kick-off time for the L1 fixtures:
Come on, you Whites!
Best of luck Bob
I will stuck at a faculty meeting
I will try and follow Chelsea on ESPN 2 from my classroom after the meeting
Cheers, mate. Enjoy your faculty meeting!
Notts County have gone 1-0 up. They could easily be promoted to L1 by the end of the evening.
Dear oh dear - apparently it's been "a really good start" for Millwall according to Tony Cottee. I'm hoping that Yeovil can pull something off.
Wow - what on earth is happening to Norwich? They've gone 1-0 down at Orient. It seems as if the side has decided that they've already been promoted.
Brighton are 0-1 up at Gillingham.
Lincoln City have almost immediately pegged Notts County back to 1-1.
Apparently Leeds have "started on the front foot." Sounds good to me. A shot just wide now by Jon Howson.
Colchester have started brightly against Charlton.
Another close thing for Leeds at Brunton Park.
And now it's a goal! YESSSSSSS!!!!
NOOOOOO - it's been disallowed. My heart is going pitter patter now. Richard Naylor had it in the net but it's been chalked off for some daft reason.
Team news for the big match in the Prem:
Bolton: Jaaskelainen, Ricketts, Cahill, Knight, Robinson, Muamba, Lee, Taylor, Wilshere, Steinsson, Kevin Davies (c). Subs: Al Habsi, Samuel, Elmander, Mark Davies, Klasnic, Cohen, Weiss.
Chelsea: Cech, Paulo Ferreira, Alex, Terry (c), Zhirkov, Ballack, Mikel, Lampard, Kalou, Drogba, Anelka. Subs: Hilario, Joe Cole, Malouda, Deco, Sturridge, Bruma, Van Aanholt.
Yeovil coming back into the match, thankfully.
Max Gradel is "running Carlisle ragged." Sounds good to me. Free kick chance now for Snoddy.
Snoddy with a magic shot! Saved by the keeper and Becchio has stuck it in!
YESSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!
That's Luciano's fourteenth of the season now. To put things into perspective, since he's come back from injury in January, he's scored ten to JB's three goals. No wonder Grayson has preferred him tonight and he's been rewarded for his boldness with an early goal.
That goal has us leaping over Millwall on 79 into 2nd on 80 points. Lovely jubbly! Long may it last.
Wycombe have scored to help out their desperate attempt to survive in L1.
Chelski and Bolton have kicked off at Stamford Bridge.
Apparently it should have been 2 or 3-0 Leeds at this point. I hope we can kill Carlisle off before Ian Harte gets any cheeky ideas about scoring against his old side.
Lots of endeavor but no goals at the Valley between Charlton and Colchester. That suits me just fine.
Norwich have leveled it against the Orient. 1-1 there.
It's still all us at Brunton Park. Five shots to nil.
Bugger! Charlton have taken the lead at the Valley. That brings them level on points with Swindon in fourth.
Brentford have taken the lead against woeful Southend who look like they're going down.
Oh dear - John Terry has gone down with an injury. Well, he seems to be jogging off that knee knack.
Penalty for Huddersfield!
Succession of corners for us at Brunton Park. All Leeds pressure. Still 1-0.
Huddersfield have converted the penalty and lead 1-0 against Walsall who are down to ten men.
That goal places Huddersfield solidly in the playoff spots three points above Colchester now.
Oh - a header just wide by Snoddy. We are all over them!
Yes! This day is getting better and better! Yeovil have taken the lead against Millwall.
That goal would put us two points clear of Millwall and three points clear of Swindon in fourth.
Our resident ManYoo fans will be happy. Bolton have "done really well" according to Merse. A shot just blocked off the line by Ferreira there.
Yeovil nearly 2-0 up there against Millwall. Lovely!
Wow! Leyton Orient have scored again to take the lead back.
2-1!
Still early doors but I'm happy so far.
Shockingly, bottom of the table Darlington have taken an away lead against Rochdale. They're suffering the same thing that Norwich are.
Newly promoted Newcastle are 0-1 up at Reading.
Zhirkov has gone down with a head wound now after a desperate block. According to Merse, he looks like "Pugsy the Bear" now.
Shots on goal: Leeds 9 Carlisle 0.
Getting close to half time now. The scores are still looking pretty nifty.
Yeovil are "doing really well," according to Tony Cottee. Lovely.
Apparently Max Gradel should have put us "out of sight." It's been total Leeds pressure.
Should have been 0-3 at least for us. I'd like to at least see a second goal go in before the half.
Norwich really under the cosh now.
Bugger! Bugger! Bugger! Ian Harte has teed up an equalizer for Carlisle. Argh!
1-1.
Back down to third then on GD with Millwall.
Saints are 1-2 up now at half time.
1-1 at half-time at Brunton Park. Grayson will need to pump up the lads again.
YESSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!
You beauty! Max Gradel has scored early in the second half. 1-2 Leeds!
Half time at Stamford Bridge and Chelski are leading through a goal from Nicholas Anelka right before half time.
I'm going to need to run down to set up my classroom in a moment. I would really love a third goal to ease my nerves before that time.
YESSS!!!!!!!!!
The floodgates have opened at Brunton Park. 1-3! Becchio with his brace.
So that's us well and truly back up in second place on 80 points now.
Colchester are giving it a go against Charlton at the Valley.
Stockport are losing 2-0 tonight to Hartlepool and have conceded 81 goals - the worst in England.
I'm off for a moment to set up my classroom for my 4:30 class with things looking peachy right now.
I am back for a tic!
Chelsea wining one nil... come on BOLTON!
As for League 1... Leeds winning, Millwall losing!!
I'm back for a while now before my class. Here are the key scores in L1:
Leyton Orient 2 Norwich 1
Carlisle 1 Leeds 3
Yeovil 1 Millwall 0
Charlton 1 Colchester 0
Huddersfield 2 Walsall 1
20 minutes to play.
Yes! Walsall have leveled it to 2-2 against Huddersfield. Lovely.
Just over 15 minutes to play and the scores are still amazingly good. I have to pinch myself.
Big penalty shout at SB. The ref has waved it off. It was a close call for a handball against JT.
The Saints are 1-5 up at Bristol Rovers!
Down to ten minutes at Brunton Park now. Still 1-3 there. Lovely.
Even though they're losing it looks as if Rochdale will be promoted along with Notts County tonight.
Everything going peachy for you
NOW BOLTON... SCORE... FOR ME!
Bolton deserve something from this!
20 to go
Chelsea struggle to clear a corner but tow shots fail to find the target!
COME ON YOU TROTTERS!!!
Into injury time at Yeovil
HOLD ON!
Bolton are doing very well
They deserve something from this
PLEASE GET SOMETHING!
Bugger... Millwall have tied it up inthe 92nd minute!
Still, Leeds would still be in 2nd
It is over at Yeovil
Yeovil 1 Millwall 1
Great result for our Bob, but could have been slightly better
Leeds have won 3-1
WELL DONE AGAIN
SECOND PLACE with four games to go
Norwich still losing so maybe win the Championship!!!
Lamps first shot on goal hits the post!
Still 1-0 with 12 minutes to go
Norwich have lost at Orient
Charlton have won 1-0
The table reads as follows with all teams having 4 games and 12 points to play for
Norwich 86 +38
Leeds 80 +31
Millwall 79 +33
Charlton 77 +21
Swindon 77 +16
Hudderfield 71 +71
Colchester 68 +14
Southampton 63 +35
Bolton heads one just wide
Elmander should have done better
Bolton are playing with 3 strikers
4 minutes to go
PLEASE DON'T LET CHELSEA ESCAPE WITH ALL THREE POINTS
Huddersfield GD is +19
Bolton hit one across the box!
COME ON BOLTON... DIVE AT THOSE CROSSES!
Into the last minute at SB
COME ON... score like Heskey did for Wigan recently
4 added minutes
Matty Taylor should have done better with a snap shot
Are Chelsea starting to show the pressure... Spurs, Stoke and Costa will be tough!
Joe Cole has a side footer from inside the six yard box but it gets stuck under his feet.
COME ON BOLTON
30 seconds to go
Bolton give the ball away
THEN Jursy stupidly lets the ball go over the line for a corner
That should do it
They take a short corner and that is it!
BUGGER BUGGER BUGGER!!
Bolton should have gotten something from this!
Four points clear with four to play
After 7 minutes of added time,
Newcastle have beaten Reading 2-1
They are 9 points clear with nine points at stake. Their goal difference is +13 on WBA... Champions... the Toon
I am off to my class
Congrats Bob.. wish my night was as good as yours!
Take Care
UWS
Thanks, mate. I'm back after my class and feeling pretty chuffed about it all. Of course, I would have preferred that Millwall hadn't scored a late equalizer but I'm not going to be greedy. Our fate is now back in our hands with four matches to play.
I still think our run in is significantly easier than others. Next up for Millwall on Friday is a tricky away fixture at Huddersfield, who've pulled out a late 4-3 win tonight. That won't be easy for them. Then on Saturday, we're away to Gillingham who are currently in 20th and three points off the dropzone. I'm reasonably heartened now after three consecutive wins.
Leeds! Leeds! Leeds! Good result Bob. Congrats.
