Lakenheath Old Boys
We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Lovely Veetle link for the Gillette Soccer Special this afternoon:

Bugger! We've gone behind early doors at Elland Road. Curses!
The Blades are also 0-2 already. This is not looking good today at all.
Leicester are breathing down our necks these days but they're away to Cardiff today. I'd almost like an evil Cardiff win. Almost. Maybe a draw is the best result.
Still no goals in the two CL fixtures today.
Chelski have gone 0-1 up in Copenhagen through Nic Anelka. Great start for the Blues in Denmark.
Becchio is starting to click along now. A header tipped over and a shot just wide there.
Reading are 1-0 up over Millwall now.
I'm hoping that in form Ipswich can do the biz against QPR tonight.
Watford have taken the lead and rise to 8th.
I suppose if there had to be a goal in Cardiff tonight I'd prefer it to be for Cardiff and it's Michael Chopra with the goal.
YESSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!
It's Luciano with his 16th goal of the season, rising at the backpost to nod home Max Gradel's cross.
1-1 Game on!
And suddenly that puts a bit of distance between us and Leicester in 7th. To be honest, I'd be happy with 6th at the end of the season. There's not really a lot of difference between 3rd and 6th at the moment - only three points in it at present - so I don't fear Forest, Swansea or Norwich. I reckon we've got a decent shout against any of them. So if we can keep clicking along and picking up points, maybe we can hang on to the play-off spot.
Oh dear - Barnsley have "had the better of it," since the goal according to the SS reporter. Sounds like a cracker but I'd prefer an easy win to be fair.
Lovely - PNE have taken the lead against Forest at the City Ground. Will wonders ever cease?
Lovely - Charlie Adam has scored a penalty against Spurs. Blackpool 1-0 up!
Unfortunately Norwich have taken the lead against Doncaster. They're up into third now. Forest have dropped to 5th from their starting position of 2nd.
Excellent - Watford have been pegged back to 1-1 by Bristol City.
More good news - the Blades have been pegged back to 1-2 at Scunny.
YES!!!!!!!!!!!
Maxi Gradel has already set one up tonight and now he's knocked home a penalty.
2-1!
No problem with goals on our end with three strikers - Becchio on 16, Somma on 12 and Gradel on 11 - in double figures for the season and Howson (8), Snoddy (6) and Johnson (6) just behind them.
Now five points between us and Leicester. We're level on points with Forest now and four goals behind them in GD.
Gus Poyet's Brighton are flying on top of L1 this season and they're 2-0 up already tonight. Well done, the Seagulls.
Lovely - Scunny have leveled it against the Blades. 2-2 there.
Half time at Elland Road. More of the same please in the second half.
And it's half time in Copenhagen. Chelski will be really happy with that 0-1 lead.
0-0 in France between Lyon and Real Madrid. Somehow Emmanuel Adebayor is starting up front for Real rather than Karim Benzema.
Second halves starting and Blackpool are 2-0 up! Wow!
Hey bob
I just figured out how to get on lob on the iPad
I callled your phone to see if you knew Leeds were playing
Wow...spurs two down.
Apparently, Spurs are battering Blackpool but still two down.
Apparently, Spurs are battering Blackpool but still two down.
Bugger! Barnsley have leveled it.
2-2 Game on!
Well done, with the iPad, UWS. I'm here at work following on Gillette Soccer Special.
Uh oh...Barnsley have tied it up at ER
Bugger! We're down to ten men now! Bradley Johnson has picked up his second yellow. We're in trouble!
Chelski are 0-2 up now!
I'm off to set up my classroom. I'm hoping we'll be 3-2 or 4-2 up when I return in a few minutes.
I missed Chelsea s second. Copenhagen are hopeless.
It is Leeds time
I'd love to see Real lose. Still scoreless
I've abandoned the TV upstairs to follow Soccer Special on the computer. Both games are naff anyway
Thanks, mate. I've come back and not only are we still at 2-2 but I've lost my link.
I found this one
http://vip-1.yolasite.com/vip-tv-3.php
Bugger
Madrid have taken the lead Benzema
A better score at Scunny where the Blades are now 3-2 down.
So probably Real and Chelski out of these two fixtures then. Big surprise.
Pompey have taken the lead against Palace.
Double substitution for us - Somma on for Becchio and Watt on for Snoddy.
Portsmouth get a goal against Palace
YESSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!
Maxi again.
3-2!
Now hang on to the lead you back four plonkers! Honestly - how do you give up two goals at home to bloody Barnsley!
GRADEL PUTS LEEDS UP !!!!
Forest have tied it up
Reading are beating Millwall
Watford are really falling. They are losing at home to Bristol City
Cardiff beating Leicester 2-0. That is a good result for you, right?
Hull take the lead at Pride Park... what has happened to Derby? How has Clough survived
Unfortunately, Forest are at 1-1 so they've leaped up to fourth again. Swansea are a point above us as they're still at 0-0. We've got them away at the weekend.
Drogba off for Anelka
Crawley have scored
We'd like to see a goal from the visitors at Carrow Road... still 1-0
Cambridge are two up away at Histon in the local derby
Would love to see a Doncaster goal now.
Are Leeds down to ten men?
I'm reminded that Barnsley were the plonkers who beat us 5-3 earlier in the season after we were 4-0 up at half-time. So that's 13 goals between us over two fixtures. Ridiculous!
Come on - hang on for these last fifteen minutes!
Yeah - Bradley Johnson got two yellows on either side of the interval.
If Spurs do lose, they will still be two points ahead of Chelsea with Chelsea having a game in hand (to United next Tuesday)
They will be two points behind Citeh having played the same amount
Bugger! Swansea have scored now. 0-1.
Blackpool would jump up to 12th
Swansea have scored at Coventry
Swansea leap up to second on the strength of that goal pushing their fellow leek eaters down to third. It's all very tight still at the top of the Championship, especially as QPR and Ipswich are deadlocked. Only six points separating the top six now.
I've unfortunately got to run down for my 4:30 class now. Keep the home fires burning for me, mate.
COME ON, YOU MIGHTY WHITES!
Lyon have tied it up against Real
Bloody Hell
3-3!!
Bob won't be happy!!
Under 10 minutes to get the winner now
Jerk Off on for Haircut boy Malouda
Doncaster have tied it up at Norwich
Can Leeds score again???

Spurs are doing everything but score tonight
Come on Leeds... get a goal for our Bobby
Torres is coming off for Chelsea inside added time
Still scoreless
Lyon and Real have drawn 1-1
Advantage the Spaniards
There's a goal at Loftus Road... to Rangers!
They're going to Elland Road again... nothing to add except Barnsley almost scored
Chelsea have won 2-0... they're through
There is a goal at Bloomfield Road... TO BLACKPOOL!!!!
Cardiff have beaten Leicester 2-0
Cambridge have won at Histon
Watford are 1-3 down to Bristol C
All over at Elland Road... it has ended all square.
Sorry Mate
Norwich have only drawn
Pompey have beaten Palace
Scunny have beaten Sheff Utd 3-2
Leeds didn't lose points to a lot of teams around them
QPR two up
Forest drawing
Swansea won
Cardiff won
Norwich Drawn
Leeds Drawn
Leicester lost
Burnely Didn't play
Millwall lost
Hull won
Watford lost
About Blackpool's third
"Brett Ormerod finally becomes the first player to score for Blackpool in all 4 divisions. No one deserves it more."
AdZY16 on Twitter: "How do you manage to beat AC Milan one week and then get destroyed by Blackpool the next?"
Injury time at Bloomfield
Charlie Adams gets a yellow in injury time. His tenth booking of the season. He will miss matches against Wolves and Chelsea
5 added minutes at the Forest still 1-1
Spurs finally get a goal but it is very late
It is over at Blackpool 3-1
There is a goal at the City Ground... to Forest!!
Back up to second then
Not a good goal there for Leeds
The top four all won and fourth and fifth didn't
Crawley won at home against Southport and Wimbledon lost at home. They close the gap and have about five games in hand!
Forest have let a late late equalizer in!!
QPR have won
I am off to get ready for my class.
United have their big game in France tomorrow. I can't see us winning away from home!!!
I'd like to see Stoke get a point or more at the Em!
Take Care
UWS
Bloody hell! I'm just back at my break and we've let another late equalizer in. It hasn't cost us that much as Leicester lost at Cardiff but the playoff slots are starting to spread open a bit with wins for QPR, Swansea and Cardiff. Fortunately Forest and Norwich only drew.
Bugger, bugger bugger! We really needed the three points today.
I'm back on Wednesday afternoon looking forward to watching at the least the first half of today's fixtures. As with yesterday, we've got a mixture of matches with Arsenal hosting Stoke in the Premiership and two CL fixtures - Inter Milan v. Bayern and United visiting Marseille.
After yesterday's marvelous Blackpool result over Spurs, the bottom of the table looks very different. You'd have to consider Blackburn, Blackpool and maybe Everton just about safe at this point. Underneath them are:
15. Brum - played 26 - 30 pts (-10 GD)
16. Villa - played 27 - 30 pts (-15GD)
17. WBA - played 27 - 28 pts (-17 GD)
18. Wigan - played 27 - 27 pts (-18GD)
19. WH - played 27 - 25 pts (-18 GD)
20. Wolves - played 27 - 25 pts (-19GD)
In the Champions League, everything's quite rosy so far for the English sides. After away wins, you'd have to fancy Spurs and Chelski to go through to the Quarterfinals now. Arsenal did well but still have an almighty tussle to come at the Camp Nou next week. That leaves United, who will look to make a winning start in the away leg tonight.
Right, then. The teams for tonight's CL clash in France:
Marseille: Mandanda, Fanni, M'bia Etoundi, Diawara, Heinze,
Cisse, Kabore, Remy, Gonzalez, Andre Ayew, Brandao.
Subs: Andrade, Taiwo, Hilton, Cheyrou, Jordan Ayew, Abriel, Valbuena.
Man Utd: Van der Sar, O'Shea, Smalling, Vidic, Evra, Gibson, Carrick, Fletcher, Nani, Berbatov, Rooney.
Subs: Kuszczak, Brown, Hernandez, Scholes, Fabio Da Silva, Rafael Da Silva, Obertan.
Referee: Felix Brych (Germany)
The matches have kicked off but I'm still looking for a decent link.
I am here
Good start by United. I just there was a better cross going into the box
1946: Wow. What a start by Arsenal. Jack Wilshere's mazy run ends with a quick pass to Cesc Fabregas, who slips Theo Walcott clear. He should score, but slams his shot against the post. Walcott has just sliced a volley wide too.
This one looks pretty good:
http://footylive.info/
The Arsenal have scored!
Squillaci after 5 minutes
Welcome, UWS! Come on, United!
Nani with a free kick straight into the wall. Nice shot by Fletcher saved
Decent chance there from the free kick with Fletch shooting into the keeper's midriff.
Your old boy Gabby Heinze looks like the weak link for Marseille. All the United attacks are coming down his side through my boy Nani.
United have won all of their away games in the CL this season and have won 9 of the last 10
In the Prem.... we're pants
That Squillaci goal brings Arsenal within a point of you lot, albeit with a game more.
Roon with a chance... blocked.
Of course, last season that would have been in
Fergie looks chilly....
Pleased so far... haven't said that much this season
You are still on for the treble, you know.
The Arsenal have moved within a point at the top having played a game more. They play in the League Cup Final this weekend. United play Wigan... on the road
1958: Oh dear. Not such good news for Arsenal fans, this. Cesc Fabregas has picked up an injury and is coming off. He will be replaced by Andrey Arshavin.
Lost my link - I'm searching. Tough night so far.
I know and we have only lost two games all season in all competitions... to Wolves and West Ham... the bottom two!!
Why am I so bummed?
Haven't missed much
United have gone off the boil right now
I've got another one but the links tonight are horrible!
I can't believe I'm complaining - I used to have to watch the score continually update on 365.
I'm spoiled.
United are starting to invite Marseille onto them. That's quite enough of that cheekiness.
United are starting to become USELESS!
I haven't even looked for a link. FSC and MSG+ are showing both games
Still 1-0 at the Emirates.
I was going to say that about being spoiled
Useless by Nani... TWICE
Lucky you - I really enjoyed my day of loafing on Monday.
Still no news about Fab... he did walk off himself
I'm still gutted about that 3-3 draw yesterday. We've got Swansea away at the weekend and I was really looking forward to a morale-boosting win yesterday. We just leak too many goals at home. Full stop.
True.. but you're spoiled again.. you were scared of relegation at the start of the season!
Bayern have hit the post in the repeat of last season's Final
I wasn't exactly scared about relegation. I just assumed that Job #1 for any promoted side is to gain another season in that league. Ian Holloway doesn't expect to win the title, does he?
O'Shea with a rotten cross.. agian
Come on you Potters!!
Berbatov hasn't scored in 17 matches in the CL... dating back in October 2008... he's due
Come on, Drac! Scoal a gore!
One goal from three marquee matches tonight - not good value for the punters.
United's wing play has been the problem.
We don't have wide men to make a decent cross
Nani's crosses have been hopeless. Giggs isn't out wide. Who plays on the right? Rooney? Unbalanced line up....maybe Valencia. I've heard he is back in training
Motherwell and St. Mirren haven't scored north of the border either
2020: Stoke's first effort on goal, and it is a good one. The ball bounces nicely for John Carew on the edge of the box and he slams in a fierce shot that is flying in until Wojciech Szczesny flings himself to his right to push it away one handed. A fine save, that.
Link is down again...this is tedious.
I'm back....
My boy Nani is hard done by by the ref.
I feel United don't do well after playing the first leg away. I know there is the Roma game but we lost a lot playing at home in the second leg. If we blow it at home in the frist leg, we can always correct it away. If we blow it at home in the second leg... we're out
Why blow it at home, then?
Again... O'Shea failed to get the ball in
Did you see Crawley? West Brom?
I do seem to remember a second leg with Real Madrid where Fatty Ronaldo was out of this world, scoring a hat-trick and then getting applauded off the pitch by the OT faithful.
Terrible corner again
I'm starving this afternoon with only a banana to get me through my afternoon class. Can I order up a hot pocket from Kathy?
Yup... we drew 0-0 in Madrid.
We also got knocked out by a French team in the late 90s after getting a draw away and lost on away goal
Well, I'm off to set up my 4pm class. Back in a tick.
I'll tell her put it on!
Nani could get it over... heard that before
Half time and scoreless. A good start but United have fallen into this season's regular form
Half time at the San Siro and Emirates
0-0 and 1-0
Teams are out for the second half
COME ON YOU REDS... United...not Arsenal
United NEED an away goal without a doubt
Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson: "I think both teams have cancelled each other out. We need to step up our passing a bit - if we can improve that we are in with a chance of winning this."
I'm back and it seems as if the second half has just kicked off. Still 0-0, eh?
The punters are starved for goals tonight.
Roon seems to have started in the middle
They should let LUFC into the CL. We'd be better value for money - we usually let in at least two or three just for fun.
Again... another hopeless cross by O'Shea
I'm having Mexican with a couple of friends tonight - can't wait. Have I mentioned that I'm bloody starving!
2049: More news on Cesc Fabregas. And it's better for Arsenal fans. The latest is that he was taken off as a precaution, rather than because he could not carry on.
Yes, you have mentioned it
The boys are going to Buffalo Wild Wings for dins. Kathy and I are going to go somewhere else
Evra can't get a cross over either... useless corner again
I am getting in that mood again.... unhappy
I've decided... United just aren't that good
So how are they on top of the league?
I HAVE NO IDEA!!!!!
I've yet to see a team rip United apart this season. How many sides could do that?
That Brandao fella is starting to take up some dangerous positions.
Alright, then. I'm off for my class.
COME ON, UNITED!
Again, Fergie doesn't seem to be able to change the display of his team. Once they start playing badly... they don't change after half time.... is Fergie happy with what he sees?
That was the first dangerous cross put in. It was by Rooney. He needs to be on the other end of it
Again, Rooney has been invisible.
Stupid foul by Gibson... why foul?
BBC Sport's Alistair Magowan at the Emirates: "Talk here is that Cesc Fabregas injury was a tight muscle so he came off as a precaution. Unconfirmed though."
United are worse in this half... I was pleased the way the started the first five minutes and then this... sounds like WOLVES
What was that Rooney... taking a shot from inside his own half.... I think it reached the penalty area in the air!
Nice dive Gabrielle
Dangerous spot to whip in a cross
Cleared
ooh, Marseille go close. ... whipped across the box just out of the reach of Marlon Brando
All Marseille at the moment
I really can't see United winning anything this season if they continue playing like this.
In Europe... they will be killed by the elite teams.
Domestically, I can't see them handling the pressure of big games in the run iin
We are past the 65th minute and still no changes made by Fergie. WHY?
Of course, please don't bring on Obertan... still there is Scholes and Hernandez
O'Shea gets a cross over, flicked by Nani hopelessly but the ball gets to Berba but his shot is blocked. Even Roon was holding his hands in the air after that 'flick' of Nani
I would prefer to win the Premier League than the European Cup
Scholes about to come on for Gibson... about time!!
Come on Scholesey!! Ping the ball around the place and score too.... PAUL SCHOLES SCORES GOALS
2112: Ok, more injury news for Arsenal and this one looks a lot more serious than that Cesc Fabregas scare earlier. Theo Walcott has just been stretchered off - he was challenged by Dean Whitehead and, as he was falling, his left ankle caught and twisted in the turf. It looked very painful too.
Berbatov has a long strike over the bar.
Rooney has moved more up top near Berbs... again...about time
Under 15 minutes to go
COME ON UNITED!!!
and Stoke
Scholes complaining about the lack of movement by the top men... come on!
Still only the one goal in the three games tonight
Under 15 minutes to go all round
I'll take a smash and grab like in Valencia in the group stages
