Lakenheath Old Boys
We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

This looks like a good stream:

Teams in the tunnel - here are the line-ups:
QPR: Kenny, Orr, Connolly, Gorkss, Hill, Faunin, Derry, Smith, Taarabt, Routledge, Hulse. Subs: Cerny (GK), Hall, Helguson, Moen, Miller, Chimbonda, Shittu.
Forest: Camp, Konchesky, Chambers, Morgan, Gunter, Cohen, Majewski, McGugan, McKenna, McGoldrick, Tudgay. Subs: Smith (GK), Anderson, Adebola, Earnshaw, Tyson, Moloney, Lynch.
As mentioned yesterday, QPR are running away with the Championship so the scramble is for 2nd spot and 6th spot. I'm willing to see QPR romp this one.
Good Morning BD. I a joining you for this promotion match and will route for QPR just for today.
Oh dear - it's Mark Clattenberg in charge this afternoon at Loftus Road. Forest kick us off and nearly score within thirty seconds! Offside called.
Morning, MUR! Great to have you on board. I'm going to shoot to the kitchen for a moment and make some coffee.
I made some coffee. This appears to be an ed-to-end- match in the making. Tarabt shot into the wall and a Forest break failed when a player got too excited and lost control.
As the commentators mentioned, this is more open than I'd expected. Both sides like to play football.
Tommy Smith could have scored for QPR , but Tarabt , his own teammate deflected his volley wide.
I'm not looking forward to the prospect of another former Leeds striker Rob Hulse gracing the Premiership next season. (sigh)
I read on the side comments that stated that Dave the Red is big at the Stretford End. Of whom are they discussing,BD?
This QPR side is made of EPL rejects. I am on board with this side.
No idea, MUR.
You're right about QPR being a side of Prem rejects: Kenny, Derry, Chimbonda, Routledge and the like.
GOAL! What a strike from Tommy Smith!
It fairly flew off his foot and into the left corner.
1-0 Rangers!
GOAL!! 1-0 QPR AS TOMMY SMITH SCORES A SUPERB GOAL WITH A LEFT FOOTED FINISH IN THE CORNER FROM THE RIGHT WING. WE ARE PLEASED, BUT I WILL NOT JUMP FOR JOY.
QPR will be another big money side in the Premiership too.
I was thinking of myself or UWS as Dave the Red. LOL. I thought it was a humorous comment.
That is the goal that we wanted. It keeps Forest rooted in 5th and tied on points with Leeds. If QPR keep scoring, we might even end up in 5th tonight.
Will their first expenses be on buying their loan signings, which happen to be their three best players this season.?
You're definitely big on the Stretford End, MUR!
Tommy Smith pulling a Messi there, running on the right and jinking in on his (presumably) favored left foot. I'm with the commentators, defenders should never allow that to happen. If a player is playing on the opposite side, it's a simple matter of channeling him down the wing onto his weaker foot.
Could be, MUR, but I also expect a big summer spending spree on some proven Premiership talent. They won't be able to survive in the Prem with this side.
It gets even better! Red card for Majewski! Billy Davies is not happy.
Forest have won six on the trot, but don't score that many. Have only score more than two in a match three times this season. They need to lose as they play at Scunny on Wednesday and will probably win that one.
It wasn't a pretty tackle, was it? But I could have seen a yellow for it just as well.
Bollocks! McGugan hits a free kick from way downtown and it pinballs off a couple of players into the back of the net. Very jammy.
1-1!
WOW! Forest score seconds after going a man down. It was really a fluke of a goal as Mcgugan took a long range free kick and it deflected off of MacGoldrick.
Game on 1-1
I missed the red card on Majewski as I was typing. It seems as if he is one of their key players. The commentator said it was pretty bad.
I'm just checking the GD situation in the Championship. Here are the current standings:
1. QPR 59 pts (+31 GD)
2. Cardiff 54 pts (+14 GD)
3. Norwich 54 pts (+10 GD)
4. Swansea 53 pts (+11 GD)
5. Forest 52 pts (+16 GD)
6. Leeds 52 pts (+10 GD)
Very interesting. QPR are going to have to start a goal spurt if we're to catch Forest on GD today. But we're in good shape vis a vis Cardiff, Norwich and Swansea.
Route One stuff from Forest as QPR better be careful. That was great chance as Camp took the goal kick, Tudgay flicked on, and MacGoldrick shot over.
I think that was prior to kickoff.
I've lost my link temporarily.
I'm back on a Veetle stream. It looks a bit wobbly but I'm hoping that it'll improve.
You're right - QPR are now on 60 pts and Forest on 53 pts and above Swansea in 4th. The goals situation is the same, though.
Forest seem to be playing better since they had a player sent off. This is Loftus Road minus the astroturf. Do you remember those days?
Nice effort there, just wide.
I remember those days well. What a rubbish idea. I seem to remember that they had those weird flat rectangular goals as well so it always seemed as if the ball just kind of rocketed all over the place.
Celtic have beaten Dundee United 1-3 with goals from Stokes, Wilson and Majstorovic.
I have noticed that Forest have not sat back since going down a player. Konchesky has had a solid game now that he is playing at a level more suited to a player of his abilities.
Coming up on half time then. Forest will be happy to take their ten men in level with the league leaders.
That's the interval then. I've got my usual Sunday morning news and chat shows on the telly now. Hoping for some QPR goals in the second half.
It is 1-1 at halftime from Loftus Road in a finely balanced. This seems a fair result, IMHO. A special mention should be given to Luke Chambers who made key blocks from Routledge and Tarabt. He has had an excellent half.
Neither team looks like it would do well in the EPL based on this showing. Perhaps the pressure of the occasion may have something to do with it.
I agree with you. The Championship is a competitive league - just look at Forest's drop from 2nd to 5th yesterday as an example. But there is still a huge jump up to the Premiership. Wolves will almost certainly go back down, while WBA and Blackpool could easily join them. If, say, QPR, Cardiff and Forest went up this season, I'd expect at least two of them to go straight back down.
I saw the incident involving Majewski. Clattenburg made the correct decision based on the laws of the game. I have seen worse challenges, but it was two footed and Tarabt's leg could have snapped. Fortunately it did not come to that.
QPR are coming back out for the second half. Forest seem to be keeping them waiting. I suppose they'd prefer to just take the point now. I'm hoping that Rangers can overpower the ten men quickly.
QPR have made a substitution as Ishmael Miller is on for Tommy Smith, the scorer. Is Smith injured or is that an odd substitution by Warnock?
Danny Shittu coming on for QPR; John Lynch coming on for Forest at the beginning of the half.
Sorry - I thought it looked like Shittu. Perhaps I just wanted it to be Shittu.
Early chance for Hulse; he was falling back so couldn't get any power in the header.
Forest have gone 4-5-1. Billy Davies is going for the draw.
The original link was deleted due to copyright infringement, so I am back to my beloved atdhe. The only problem is that this link does not have audio.
I'm on this one now. It's working well:
http://sports--tv.blogspot.com/
QPR have had plenty of possession but haven't really penetrated Forest's stalwart backline.
Forest with a big opportunity here. Wasted.
Shaun Derry was booked for QPR and McGugan wasted a free kick.
Half an hour left for QPR to kill this one off. Billy Davies' men hanging in there for the point.
Pesky Forest is hanging around. QPR can't seem to put them away.
A point for each wouldn't be worst thing, after all. A Forest win would obviously be the worst result. But this one keeps it very tight - two points separating 2nd through 6th. Our match with Norwich next weekend will be crucial.
Another chance for QPR as Mckenna shoots over from the corner. I have that link . It is up and working.
Forest's top scorer,McGugan, is replaced by Paul Anderson, who appears to be a right back. Billy Davies' tactics are really obvious.
Billy isn't one for subtleties.
Inside the last twenty minutes now.
A big shout for a penalty there but there seemed minimal contact.
A couple of changes now. Pascal Chimbonda on for QPR.
That should have been a booking as there was no contact. Absolutely shocking from Routledge.
That is a debut for Chimbonda who cannot make it into Warnock's lineup.
Lots of QPR pressure as Chris Gunter clears off the line.
One comment said and i quote "ROB HULSE IS PANTS" Any comments , Bob?
Rob Hulse IMHO is a decent Championship level striker. I don't have the same hatred for him that I do for Kevin Blackwell, who not only abandoned Leeds for our main rivals Sheffield United but also took Hulse - our main striker at the time - with him. Rob did a job for us.
Vaagaan - Moen is on for Faurlin and shoots straight into the wall with his first touch of the ball. He and Chimbonda were signed during the January transfer window.
Inside the last ten minutes - I don't really feel a winning goal coming.
A yellow card coming for Nathan Tyson for jumping into Paddy Kenny.
QPR can't seem to break down the Forest defense. Luke Chambers has more blocks than Camp has saves. Lots of late goals in the MN Power Championship yesterday. Will the same be true today?
If anything, I worry that speedy Tyson might nip in with a late goal. I'd prefer a 1-1 draw.
There will be three minutes of stoppage time.
The match finishes 1-1. You would think that Forest will win their game in hand at Scunny on Wednesday. Two big games nest weekend as your Whites take on the Canaries and Forest take on Cardiff.
That's it - Forest have worked themselves down to the bone for that point. QPR stay on top, now with 60 points. Forest rise to 4th ahead of the Swans now.
Will you be here for Bolton vs Everton?
I'm going to beg off to work, MUR, to get a few things done ahead of the week. But I'll be back tonight to blog the Grammy festivities live if you're interested. I'll also be around tomorrow afternoon for Chelski v. Fulham.
See you soon!
I think I'll skip the Bolton v. Everton today. Lots of things to do today.
Cheerio, mate!
Take care BD. Unfortunately, I will have to work tomorrow, so I will record the match.
