Lakenheath Old Boys

We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Champions League Draw!

The draw for the Quarter-final and Semi-Final stages of the Champions League 2011 were made this morning at the ungodly hour of 7am EST. Suffice it to say that I didn't follow it live. However, here are the fascinating match-ups that came out of it:

Quarter-final draw

Real Madrid v Tottenham Hotspur

Chelsea v Manchester United

Barcelona v Shakhtar Donetsk

Internazionale v Schalke

Semi-final draw

Real Madrid/Tottenham Hotspur v Barcelona/Shakhtar Donetsk

Internazionale/Schalke v Chelsea/Manchester United

Not too displeased with the draw
I am pleased that United avoided either Spanish side until the Final. I am relatively confident beating Chelsea and then get through Inter.... Great to see a
MANCHESTER UNITD vs Tottenham Hotspur Final at Wembley!!

I really wanted United to be paired with Schalke after first requesting Spurs. I guess Chelski is better than being paired with one of the Spanish sides. We should be able to beat Chelski since Martin Atkinson will not be officiating, but who knows who we will get instead. I predict that the following teams will be in the semis:

Real Madrid as the Special One should be victorious over Harry
Man United, Barca , and Inter

The semis would be Real vs Barca and United vs Inter . I predict a United vs Barca final and a chance to avenge that 2009 final defeat.

I predict that it'll be Real v. Barca and Inter United with a Barca v. United final. At Wembley. Should be a classic.
