Catching up with the Weekend Footer
By tomorrow morning, I'll be well ensconced back in Blue Devil HQ for the big matches of the weekend. But for now I'll be holed up in the Radisson Belize City catching as much of the morning's festivities as I can before the shuttle comes to pick up the group. Join me if you're watching this morning.

First up is the Norwich v. Chelski clash out of our old stomping grounds at Carrow Road. Here's the team news:
Norwich City: Ruddy, Martin, Whitbread, Ayala, Naughton, Fox, Johnson, Pilkington, Surman, Morison, Holt.
Subs: Steer, Drury, Crofts, Jackson, Hoolahan, Bennett, Wilbraham.
Chelsea: Cech, Bosingwa, Luiz, Terry, Cole, Ramires, Lampard, Meireles, Sturridge, Torres, Mata.
Subs: Turnbull, Ivanovic, Essien, Romeu, Malouda, Lukaku, Bertrand.
Referee: Mark Clattenburg (Tyne & Wear)
Good Morning Bob .
I'm at work at the moment but will
keep looking in from time to time .
I've got a link up through First Row here in the room:
http://www.firstrow.tv/watch/103257/1/watch-norwich-city-vs-chelsea.html
Morning, Tony - how are you, mate!?
Doing ok thanks . Sitting in my shop just looking out the window at the moment . Mildenhall is dead . Got the radio on to listen to the game .
At least the sun is sort of shining .
Here we go, then - kick off time at Carrow Road.
Looks a bit overcast at Carrow Road at the moment. I hope you at least get a good Saturday night out.
Early chance there for Torres.
I'm shocked that David Luiz has got the nod ahead of new boy Gary Cahill at the back for Chelski. I'll say it again - he's no center back.
Chelski have had all the early going so far but Norwich are trying to hit them on the break now. Morrison got around the back but his ball was drilled into Cech.
Chelski have the chance ahead of the two big ones tomorrow to close the gap on Spurs in 3rd. There is a bit of a gap forming between the top three and the second grouping of three or four.
Oh - nice interplay between Morrison and Holt there and he wasn't too far away with his shot. Good stuff from the Canaries.
Halfway through the first half and Chelski don't really look as if they're going to break down Norwich any time soon. Torres continues to frustrate in that lone striker role.
That was a bit better. Torres nicked one at goal with the outside of his boot and Ruddy had to be sharp to turn it around.
Chelski pouring on the pressure now.
Frankie Lampard's day is done - he limps off to be replaced by Malouda.
For a 0-0er, it's been lively.
Ruddy saves well from Mata but Ayala also took the sting off it.
Morning Bob and Tony
It has been a good match
There have hardly been ANY fouls!
How long are you around for?
Are you coming back North today?
Hi Dave . just tried that link and it wouldn't work .
http://www.firstrow.tv/watch/103343/1/watch-soccer-saturday.html
Soccer Saturday going strong
Man Utd and Stoke on Tuesday 1/31 on ESPN2
What do you mean it wouldn't work?
ooh, Leeds vs Ipswich today
CHelsea almost get a goal with the last kick.. nice interception by Pilkington
Half time
Last action of the half has Torres beating the offside trap and then trying to find Malouda with his cross. Great cross by Pilkington.
Half-time. 0-0.
St. Mirren and Celtic are scoreless at half time
Rangers host Aberdeen later
I CALLED IT... NOT ONE FOUL CALLED DURING THE FIRST HALF!
Jeff S just announced it. I thought I wasn't seeing things
That has to be a record but I wonder if it has been done before? In the Prem?
Very strange stuff with the TV stuff
ESPN have the FA Cup in England but over here they don't
Second half underway
FREE KICK CALLED in the 47th minute
ANother foul!!!
Morning, Dave - sorry I missed you coming on late. I've got to bugger off in a few minutes to enjoy the last breakfast buffet but I'll be back for the regular kickoffs. We're to be picked up at noon, so I may have to bugger off before the final whistles.
Hey Bob
I'll keep the home fires burning
When do arrive back in NY?
Sorry Tony... but I don't really want Chelsea to win this!
I meant REALLY don't
I know you don't Dave . That's ok . I forgive you .
I don't think that they're that good.
Macca is just talking about them not playing well. Three forwards but no one wide
Why wasn't Cahill even put on the bench?
What a miss by Torres!
He had all day to get a shot off and then hits it wide from six yards
AVB is not a happy chappy about it
Norwich fans yelling "what a waste of money"
Last week, Pompey fans were singing "we'll take you on loan"
Celtic take the lead at St. Mirren
What on Earth has happened to Torres?
He was brilliant for Liverpool at first! He scared the living daylights out of me.
Now, when he has been at Chelsea, he has been pants.
I thought he started to turn the corner at Old Trafford. He looked dangerous, scored a good goal and then rounded the keeper and missed an open goal!
The next week, he scored a goal and then got sent off!
Again, I would have Chelsea sell him to United. I still think he could be goo
25 minutes to go at Carrow Road
I remember many matches there... good memories
BTW, you're a Spurs fan now anyway!
Nice shot by Rameires well saved by Ruddy
Lukaku is about to come on... for who? Torres?
Celtic have doubled their lead
Robbie Keane makes his first start for Villa today against his old team Wolves.. of course.. isn't every team he plays... an old team
No .I like to keep the shop happy .
And I think they are playing the best football .
Under 15 minutes for Norwich to get their first clean sheet of the season. Only Blackburn are the only team to say that
Torres is replaced. The Carrow Road fans singing
What a waste a money
I agree with you.
They are playing well. I would like them to win it if it wasn't United
Of course, we have the Dahlgren brothers on the LOB who aren't Spurs fans. One is obvious and the other one is family ties
Jonny hates Spurs too. I think it is because Phil like the Arse.
I have always been more of a Spurs fan than Arsenal fan
Mata turns and shoots just wide
Norwich don't deserve to lose this
It's funny you should say that because they were always my second
London team .
Delph to start for Leeds
Spurs?
I liked them when they had Ossie, Villa, Hoddle, Hazzard and co
Yes , liked Martin Chivers . the Argies later , Klinsman etc .
Yup, Chivers and Peters
Stil, they have only won the league ONCE!
Inside five minutes
Concentrate you Canaries!!!
On the ball City
Never mind the danger
That is what, Norwich fan, Stef Dosedel always sang
I know . With some of the players they have had over the years it is weird they haven't done more .
Norwich defenders pfaffing about with the ball... get it out of there!!
We are now into 3 minutes of added time
Keep it tight
Malouda with a shot that is more trouble for the corner flag than Ruddy
They do deserve the draw .
This would be a good start to a big weekend
Follow this up with a Spurs win, a United win and GIANT win
Holt looked to be held there in the box!
1 more minute
Goalkick to Norwich
Last chance saloon for Chelsea.. out for another goal kick
Ref should blow up when the goal kick is taken... it is!
Nil Nil.... happy with that score!
I am off to walk in the frozen tundra with Shadow
Still snowing
Well that's it then . They must stay up now .
I am back form a nice walk in the snow.. the husky enjoyed it... me not so much!
I am off to the loo now!
I have Everton v Blackburn on FSC
FSC+ has Fulham v Newcastle
Still haven't gone to the loo yet!!
I'm back and happy that I didn't miss out on the breakfast buffet for that dross at Carrow Road.
Believe it or not, I'm getting bloody Fox Soccer Plus in the hotel here, so I'm on the Fulham v. Newcastle.
I have Wigan and QPR on the radio .
Say hi to Shadow .
I'm giving it a blast of the MOT as we kick off at Elland Road v. Ipshits.
Welcome back Bob . Where are you ?
I'm still in the hotel here in Belize City. We're flying back to the tundra today and will be glued to the proceedings in the morning.
I'm got the SS link going through My Premium. Lovely jubbly.
TMI... I'm am now going to the loo!
Thanks for the bowel movement updates, mate. Enjoy!
I've been part of a trip down here with student teachers the last couple of years, Tony. It's quite nice getting out of WNY for two weeks in January, I'll tell you. I've got a ridiculous tan for mid-winter.
No goals as of yet with ten minutes gone.
So where exactly are you or where have you been ?
Villa take the lead
We've been in Belize City working in schools for the past two weeks. Belize is tucked in between Mexico and Guatemala right on the Caribbean. Beautiful country - great people. I love it here.
Villa have taken the lead at Molineux. First goal in the Prem this weekend.
That's Darren Bent with the penalty. Who else? He's close to the Golden Boot spot now.
Sounds nice Bob .
Wolves could easily land in the dropzone by the end of today if they aren't careful.
What is David doing in there ? Reading a book ?
It sounds as if we're a bit under the cosh at ER. Here's the Leeds line-up today:
Lonergan, Thompson, Lees, O'Dea, Pugh, Snoddy, Clayton, Delph, Townsend, Forssell, McCormack.
Subs: Taylor, Bruce, Brown, Becchio, White.
He often takes a long, leisurely time on the khazi, and then loves to recount his adventures here.
Sunderland have taken the lead through Sessignon.
I am back to see Sunderland and Villa take the lead
Crossword
Any tough questions there, UWS?
Did you finish it ?
Only goal in the Championship is for Cardiff against Pompey
Cardiff have taken the lead against Pompey.
No I didn't finish and yes it is tough. I have a book of crosswords... they are all tough
Wolves tie it up
Wolves have leveled it. It sounds as if Arsenal's Frimpong has made quite an impact on loan.
Again, no Everton starting striker has scored a goal this season
Why did Pingpong leave the Em?
Charlton beat Sheff Wednesday last week
They just took the lead against Sheffield United this week in a battle against the top two
Still 0-0 at ER coming up on the half-way mark of the first half.
Come on, you Whites!
Arsenal loan out a load of players to help out with the wage situation. He's a bit surplus to requirements in Arsene's mind.
Goal... CAHILL HAS FINALLY SCORED FOR EVERTON!!!
Scrappy goal the ball gets knocked in after a corner was too long.....It wasn't offside because of a man on the line but Hair Bear Bunch used an arm to get it to Cahill... i don't think he needed to use the arm!
Cahill's first goal since December of 2010
Crikey - that's a long time between goals. Blackburn down in the dumps of course.
Landy was the guy that chipped it in... he had a brilliant assist last week against Villa
Both would-be League Cup Finalist are winning before their second leg
Cardiff beating Pompey
Palace beating Blackpool
It's good to see Landy having a good effect at Everton. I'm hoping for the same from Robbie Rogers who arrives at ER this month on loan.
Bristol City take the lead against Doncanster. Not good news for Ipswich. Bristol City are the team just below them
Well done, Palace - that helps.
I'm sorry to do it, but we need to put Ipswich to the sword today. No messing about.
Coventry and Donny are just about down in my estimation. Forest in real trouble.
QPR have a penalty!
Helgusson to take and....1-0!
Landy misses a chance
Wovles take the lead
LUFC old boy Michael "Dubes" Duberry has scored an own goal - couldn't happen to a nicer bloke.
Did you see Barton slagging off Warnock on twitter about blaming other people on twitter for his firing!
It seems as if Wolves pick up just enough scrappy points to survive. I predict that Bolton, Blackburn and Wigan for the drop.
No - I missed that. Barton is good value on Twitter from what I've heard.
BUGGGGGGERRRRRRRR!
The Tractor Boys are 0-1 up at ER. Sounds like a howler from Lonergan. Oh dear.
Rovers off the post
The Baggies are 0-1 up the Britannia. Sounds like another goalkeeping howler, this time from Sorenson.
Sorry mate
WBA have taken the lead against Stoke
Getting ready to close up shortly .
Will join in at some point tomorrow .
Talk to you guys later .
We've dropped into the bottom half at 13th on 39 points.
Cheerio, Chelskilad. Great to have you on board this morning.
Brum are leading as are Millwall, Coventry and Brighton
Take care Tony
Millwall are two up at Barnsley
Oh - nice pop from Ameobi there, well saved.
Pompey tie it up
Millwall now 0-2 up at Barnsley.
Pompey have equalized.
Brum are 1-0 up against Watford.
Goals flying in now.
Boro are losing at Coventry and down to ten men
Newcastle are winning at Fulham
GOAL! Woof! A cracking drive from Guthrie to put Newcastle 0-1 up at Craven Cottage.
Are you surprised at Newcastle's form? I don't think they'll make the top four but they could easily push Arsenal and Liverpool out of Europe.
I have been impressed with them. They did have a blip after their draw at Old Trafford but they completely deserve their three nil win against United
QPR are two up against Wigan
Half time at the Cottage now. Newcastle are deservedly in the lead.
Blackburn are unlucky to be behind at Goodison
Leeds losing at half time... sorry mate
Just turned it over to the Newcastle match and went back to see the goal... what a bullet... reminds me of one of Matt's three from the other night!
Rangers and Aberdeen are scoreless at half
Cambridge are winning 1-0 at Telford
West Ham are beating Forest 1-0 from a last minute of the half penalty. Forest don't think it was a handball... are Forest going down? Do I get bonus points for a promotion pick going out of the division the other way!!!
Not sure if those three points would put them on top. Sotton must be playing tomorrow
NOt looking forward to clearing the driveway after the final whistles!
MY DRIVEWAY IS TOO BIG!
Southampton are hosting Leicester City on Monday
lewyakers on Twitter: "Newcastle United are two points off fourth as things stand. About time people took notice of us."
The teams are back on at the Cottage. Here we go with the second half.
Come on, you Leeds boys. No slip ups today. We need three points.
Second half underway at Goodison
It's Leeds time
Goal at Hillsborough.. to Hartlepool... Jeff is pleased
Very windy and rainy at Goodison... about time for Howard to score another one... he is going to other way though
Fulham tie it up form the spot... outside the box for the free kick?
Robbie Keane has scored for Villa
Thanks, mate. I've just come back from settling my bill to see Fulham equalizing through a penalty.
Your thoughts
From Ollie, Castle Leazes, via text: "Something has to change with Leeds. Shocking performance so far. Bates or Grayson - one of you has to go."
way hay.. Pompey are WINNING at Cardiff
I think that was close enough to give a penalty at Fulham
I disagree. Grayson has worked wonders with the finances that he's been given and I don't see a better alternative to Cap'n Birdseye at present.
Too many LUFC fans still have delusions of grandeur. For the foreseeable future, we're a mid-table Championship side. Deal with it.
I think you're right but I do think the team is so inconsistent. They hammer teams some weeks and they are hopeless the next
Their home form should be much better
Pingpong has been down for a long time... he is now being taken off on a stretcher
Arsene won't be happy
Blackburn are bossing it at Goodison
Agreed. We're shocking at home. And our goalkeeping and defending is a real problem. Has been for several seasons. But to be fair to Grayson and Bates, they have brought new players in...but they haven't really done the job.
Fulham have taken the lead
Dempsey scores off a rebound
It is his 50th goal for Fulham... well done lad
Wednesday have tied it up
Coventry double their lead against Boro
Dempsey's goal looked like it came off of his ghoolies
Telford tie it up against Cambridge
After this match, Everton have a home game in the Cup next Friday and then home in the league against Citeh
Cambridge retake the lead
Pederson takes a shot for Rovers and it hits Row W in the bottom tier!
Brum are two up against Watford
Coventry are now three up against Boro
GOAL! Clint rattles in his second. What a legend.
Come on boys... make our Bob happy before his traveling
Fulham are three one up... Dempsey again... who picked him for the Golden Boot?
Wigan get a deserved goal back at Loftus Road
Another penalty!!!!!!
Wow! Krul might be in trouble here.
Another penalty... for Fulham!!
Krul gets a lime green card... it aint yellow
Zamora with the goal... should have had Clint take it
Should have been taken it but it's Zamora being greedy. Robs Clint of his hat-trick.
4-1!
Aberdeen have taken the lead at Ibrox!!!
One nil to the Dons
He's got time
Hull take the lead at Reading
Come on, you Whites!!!!
Grayson's made two subs - Becchio on for Forssell and Aidy White on for Townsend.
Penalty to Stoke... Saved!
Okay... I'm serious... IT'S LEEDS TIME!!
Cardiff equalize... it's Desmond
Penalty for QPR.... Helguson...SAVED!!
Lots of goals going in in the Championship now. Sadly, not at ER yet.
Goal at Goodison... for Rovers!!
Howard came for a cross and didn't get it.
Cahill clears it off the line but right into Goodwillie who knocks it in
Kyle Henry gets a red for Wolves
Rangers have tied it up against Aberdeen
Coventry extend their lead and Hull take a lead at Reading. Not good.
