The lack of effort has already started!
Birmingham and Wolves play a hopeless nil niller!
WHY DON'T TEAMS WANT TO WIN A CUP!!!!
Macclesfield and Bolton gets underway on FSC
Fleetwood v Blackpool(a local derby) is underway on FSC+
I also have Soccer Saturday going
http://www.firstrow.tv/watch/100780/2/watch-soccer-saturday.html
Good morning UWS. I am here to join you as we watch Macclesfield vs Bolton.I would love to see an upset or two today.
Can you Adam and Eve it? Fleetwood hosts Blackpool in a local derby at the aptly named Highbury.
THERE'S ONLY ONE HIGHBURY!
Again, I hate how the teams treat the FA Cup. People go back to United not defending their win in 2000 for the turn about but I disagree.
It is teams like Wolves and like that don't go out to win a game. They would prefer to finish 17th in the league than win the Cup at Wembley. Okay, it is important to stay in the league but WIN SOMETHING!
How about teams that aren't going to go down and aren't going to win the league??
Sorry... these teams just bug me
I agree UWS. Don't blame Man Yoo as FIFA and bloody Blatter put them in a no win situation that year. They couldn't play in two competitions at the same time. It's teams like Wolves that put out reserve teams when you would see full strength lineups in previous seasons.
Of course, Sky hasn't helped. In the later rounds, they have their panel guys at Championship games and not at the 5th, 6th and Semi final games!
THEY DON'T HAVE THE RIGHTS SO IT DOESN'T MATTER
Bloody hell... big nose Phil Thompson's match today is not an FA Cup match but the REALLY important League match between Carlisle and Orient... point made!
GOAL!!! 0-1 BOLTON AS IVAN KLASNIC GIVES BOLTON THE LEAD OFF A CORNER
Bolton have taken an early lead at Macclesfield. The first FA Cup goal of the day. The two early kick offs ended 0-0
Dagenham and Redbridge drwe with Millwall
Norwich have scored at home against Burnley
STRUTH!!! Macclesfield had a chance to tie it up , but Bodgdan saved when he was the only player to beat.
oooh, Macclesfield go close twice for an early equalizer
Now Bogdan makes another superb save for Bolton.
I hate to criticoze poor Macclesfield , but that poor defending off the corner and clumsy keeping that lead to the goal shows why they are a League 2 side.
Morning MUR.... I am on a role here with criticism.... I blame the FA itself too.... this will be two years in a row that the FA Cup FINAL will be played in the penultimate weekend of the season... it should be played as a conclusion of the domestic season
Everton lead Tamworth 1-0 and West Brom lead Evil Cardiff 1-0
The keeper made a hash of a corner from Landy and Heitinga scored a simple goal.
Goals flying in the Cup;
Coventry lead against Sotton
Everton are beating Tamworth
Fulham leading Charlton
Watford ahead of Bradford
adn WBA beating Cardiff
Clint has put Fulham in the lead vs Charlton as Clint scored and Derby lead Palace 1-0.
So Clint has a goal and Landy an assist.
SHUT IT JEFF! Who cares about BLOODY Hartlepool vs Rochdale.
The Fake Dons host Evil QPR in an Evil tie.
Norwich lead Burnley 2-0 as Simeon Jackson scored and Bradford tied it up at Watford.
Fleetwood vs Blackpool is a sell out at Highbury.
Macclesfield have tied it up!!
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!
MACCLESFIELD HAVE TIED IT UP VS BOLTON. A GREAT FINISH ,BUT WHY DID BoGDAN DIVE THE WRONG WAY. A SIMPLE GOAL AND SUSPECT BOLTON DEFENDING!
Burnley have scored from a Ross Wallace free kick and now trail Norwich 2-1.
Bradford have tied it up at Vicarage Road
Burnley get a goal back at Carrow Road
I agree with your criticism of the FA, UWS. I hate to say this ,but playing the FA Cup final during the league season will be a trend rather than a one time thing. I wish I would be wrong in stating this , but have a feeling I'm not.
Why is Le Tiss stuck with Hartlepool vs Rochdale. I guess he has to please the boss.
I have just heard from a friend that is going to come over to try and fix a light fixture for me and something at my father-in-law... i will have to bugger off at half time
Sorry mate
Gillingham take the lead vs Stoke in Pulis' return to the Priestfield .
Gillingham are beating their ex-boss's lot... Stoke
No problem, UWS. I hope everything works out.
See.. it is Sky's fault too... Carlisle Orient, Hartlepool Rochdale!!!
IT IS THE FA CUP!!!!!!!!
Charlie has Southend Port Vale... it is ridiculous!
Sorry... I am done complaining
Bolton trying to be cute and Macclesfield are having none of it. I am sure Owen Coyle will have plenty to say about this at halftime.
Actually, I agree with you 100%. I was just asking why Le Tiss is doing Hartlepool vs Rochdale.Jeff is making a big deal of Hartlepool and even though it's his team he should be focusing on the Cup.
Now Jeff is talking about Bloody League 2
The Blades lead Salisbury 1-0.
BD will not be pleased.
Dafoe gives Spurs the lead vs Cheltenham
Hearts being held 0-0 by non league Auchinleck Talbot as Hearts missed a penalty.
Stevenage take the lead at Reading and Blackpool take the lead at Highbury!
Don't you love the stadium in Macclesfield? Lovely view at the Bolton end. If only DC United played in something that size on the RFK footprint.
OH! A cross from a young Bolton right back came off the bar, surprising Macclesfield keeper, Vega.
Good morning Gooner . How have you been. I agree with you about the Macclesfield Stadium.
David Wheater was booked for Bolton as he was guilty of a short pull and a hand ball. The Macclesfield fans wanted red, but it was the correct decision by the ref.
Ricardo Vaz Te gave Barnsley the lead vs Swansea , but Danny Graham tied it up for the Swans 90 seconds later.
Hull City take the lead vs Ipswich.
I would say if anything. Maclesfield have been the slightly better team.
Alright mate.
By the way, did either of you watch the lead in show, with the Gillingham vs Stoke preview. They showed some action from Gillingham's recent games this season and they don't half play like Stoke. Throw-ball, hoof upfield, headers from corners. Goodness me, that match could mark the true nadir of football.
Still no goals in the EVIL DERBY as The Fake Dons host Evil QPR.
I did watch part of the show, Gooner. I saw that and Hereford vs Newcastle form 1972 as well as the trivia bit.
Shut it Le Tiss! Hartlepool dominating. Do you need some chapstick?
Macclesfield are playing as well as they can, but Bolton don't look overly taxed. Back in the day, Martin Petrov was on my wish list for Arsenal. I think he's got great quality but too old to play in the Prem anymore. He needs a less pacy league, wherever that might be. I'd say the MLS, but playing in +90 degrees all summer might kill him.
Wigan have taken the lead at Swindon as Ben Watson had a penalty come off the post ,but Callum McManaman scored the rebound.
Hull City lead Ipswich 2-0.
That is true, Gooner, but Bolton were really poor when conceding that equalizer and have looked poor in patches. I am sure Owen Coyle will be expecting better in the second half.
BD will love this!
David Goodwillie has given Blackburn the lead at SJP The announcer said a Newcastle defender was left exposed.
West Brom lead Evil Cardiff 2-0 and Stoke have tied it up at Gillingham.
Bogdan comes to halt a Macclesfield attack then clears a risky back pass.
Notts County take the lead at Donny.
Swindon have tied it up vs Wigan . Paolo Di Canio goes bonkers!
If I had to predict, I'd say that Bolton keep this level until the break, play through Macclesfield's start to the second half, and then take the match because of superior fitness when they tire. I don't see upset here.
But if M'ld could score again, they might be able to frustrate Bolton and knick it, or take it back to Bolton for another payday. I like Owen Clooney, but he's in charge of a real collection of mutts this year. He could use a year in the 2nd tier shedding the mutts and bringing some players through.
Goodwillie. Hah!
Now Paul Robinson is booked for a nasty challenge as Macclesfield were playing the pretty football, not Bolton.
Middlesbrough take the lead vs Shrewsbury and Pavs gives Spurs 1a 2-0 lead vs Cheltenham.
Two minutes of stoppage time at Macclesfield.
Gooner, what do you have to say about the Dahlgren Derby on Monday?
Hey Gooner
Sorry I have to bugger off... glad to see a Dalhgren keeping the home fires burning as another buggers off
TTFN
Halftime and Macclesfield receive a deserved standing ovation from their fans . It is 1-1 and Bolton know they are in a cup tie.
Stoke now lead 1-2 at Gillingham as the score off a Delap long throw. Shawcross headed on to the bar and Cameron Jerome put away the rebound.
Cheers UWS! I am keeping the home fires burning too.
Blackpool lead 0-1 at Higbury at halftime. Any opinions on that statement, Gooner?
Evil Cardiff have scored as they trail West Brom 2-1.
Coventry lead Sotton 1-0
Brighton being held 0-0 by Wrexham.
Sp far a low scoring Fa Cup third round as most of the goals were scored early on.
Watford have taken a 2-1 lead vs Bradford City
An upset in the making as Hearts are being held 0-0 at halftime by Auchinleck Talbot.
St.Johnstone of the SPL are being held 1-1 by Brechin
The second half kicks off at Macclesfield.
Bolton win an early corner as they resort to a more direct style.
KD heads well over from the corner as he has been a virtual spectator in this match.
I was encouraged that we did the bowtieing on the TH12 deal in time for him to be in the squad, but Wenger's got big problems to solve at the back. Realistically, with one of the Manchester clubs going out today(but hopefully after a replay and 120 minutes in sleet and penalties) this is our best chance of winning something this year. But if he plays somebody Monday and he's added to the crocked list, it will be pitchfork and torch time at the Em. Wenger could have won us all back by presenting deals for Lucas Podolski and Michel Barros. He's excused his lack of spending by citing injuries, but no one expects Kieron Gibbs to ever mount an injury free challenge to make the left side his. Time to dispense with him. As for his claim that bringing in good players kills the progress of young guys, what younger player has ever suffered by training and learning from an established great player? Wenger is increasingly sounding like Col. Kurtz in the last third of Apocalypse Now.
Swansea take an early 1-2 second half lead at Barnsley through Danny Graham.
Well stated Gooner. The Manc Derby is tomorrow and my question is if the teams will take this match seriously. I do agree that the experienced players help the younger players progress, but it seems as if your Gunners do not have many younger players breaking into the first team.It seems as if they need to go elsewhere to get first team action.
Matt Phillips has given Blackpool a 0-2 lead as Highbury as they lead in the local derby vs Fleetwood.
Super K says that Everton vs Tamworth is really boring and that the highlight is the Tamworth fans booing the Little Neviller every time he touches the ball.
Plymouth have scored at Crewe ,but trail 2-1.
Brighton have taken the lead vs Wrexham through sventeen year old Jake Foster-Caskey.
Evil Cardiff have come from two goals down to tie it up at the Hawthorns.
Nathan Dyer has now put Swansea 1-3 up at Barnsley.
Crewe now lead Plymouth 3-1.
Sorry Bob.
Robert Huth has now put Stoke 1-3 up at Gillingham.
Blackpool now lead 0-3 at Highbury in their local derby.
David Stockdale had to make two great saves in a minute to preserve Fulham's 1-0 lead vs Charlton.
David Ngog is on for the ineffective KD and the Bolton bench look none to pleased at KD.
Coquelin and the Ox are exceptions this year. Frimpong could be next year's story. Wilshere and Ramsey have played into contention. And if not for breaking his back, Corporal Jenkinson would have had an extended run on the right in place of Sagna.
I'd have agreed with you previously but this year, it's Wenger's bargain basement signing of Park who isn't seen to be fit to be on the bench, and the impossibly crap Chamakh who has been preferred to the Ox.
I listen regularly to Alan Davie' podcast and he's pointed out that Wenger is the worst gambler in the history of gambling. You could win a fortune just by watching what Wenger gambles on and taking a bet on the opposite.
Jason Scotland has scored for Ipswich, but trail Hull City 2-1.
Norwich now lead Burnley 3-1.
Andrew Surman scored the Norwich goal.
Clint has scored his second to put Fulham 2-0 up vs Charlton.
A great chance for Macclesfield , but the shot was balooned over.It is a corner.
A header from the corner is straight to Bodgdan.Simonm Cox has scored his second to put West Brom 3-2 ahead of Evil Cardiff.
The Blades now lead Salibury 2-0 thanks to a deflected Ched Evans effort after a save by the keeper.
BD will not be pleased.
GOAL!!!! MACCLESFIELKD TAKE A 2-1 LEAD VS BOLTON!
WHAT A GOAL IT WAS AS Daniel had come close a minute earlier. Bolton cleared a corner, Mendy controlled it from 25 yards out flicked it up in the air and rocketed a volley in the top corner as Bogdan did not have a chance.
The Fake Dons take the lead vs Evil QPR.
Tony Cottee says Swindon is dominating the match vs Wigan.
Oooh, I may have to revise my prediction now. Owen Clooney surely is in as much trouble as Steve Kean at Blackburn if this result stands. His players are really letting him down here.
YESS! Go on MK Dons!!!
I have been a fan of Wilshere and hope he has a great career for Arsenal and England. Not so sure about Jenkinson. Do you have comments about the Dahlgren Derby on Monday?
Am I remembering correctly that Mendy was at Wolves? Surely they could use him now. Is he on loan?
Gooner would you classify that a s a Hereford type goal? Does it remind you of Hereford vs Newcastle?
Notts County now lead 0-2 at Donny. and Newcastle have tied it up vs Blackburn as Ben Arfa beat seven players then nut megged the keeper to score a superb solo goal.
Norwich now lead Burnley 4-1.
CRAP!
WHEATER TIES IT UP FOR BOLTON AS HE SCORES A HEADER OFF TA FREE KICK. NOW 2-2.
I have no memory of that Hereford result at all. I watched that footage and it was as remote to me as watching old black and white footage of Stanley Matthews. What I would say is that as unexpected a finish it was, MT have played well and been more composed than I expected.
Oh, and now Bolton have equalized.
Wheater scored the header off a free kick from Martin Petrov.
Swindon have taken the lead vs wigan and Di Canio is going bonkers!
Crawley have taken the lead vs Bristol City , Calamity James , and Co.
Hearts still being held 0-0 by Auchinleck Talbot.
Blackpool now lead 1-4 at Higbury.
To answer your question Gooner, Bernard Mendy used to play for Bolton when Fat Sam was in charge, but I believe this is a completely different Mendy than any we have seen.
Wrexham have tied it up at Gus' place. It is now Brighton 1 Wrexham 1
Everton now have a penalty as Leighton Baines has come on as a sub to take the penalty after Drenthe was fouled in the box.Baines scored the pen and now lead Tamworth 2-0.
Clint has scored a hat-trick as Fulham now lead Charlton 3-0.
Clint has scored a hat-trick as Fulham now lead Charlton 3-0.
Blackpool now lead Fleetwood 1-5 at Highgbury as Matt Phillips has scored his first ever hat-trick.
Hearts finally take the lead vs Auchinleck Talbot. ABOUT BLOODY TIME!
OH! PETROV HAD A FREE Kick come off the bar for Bolton. Nearly a winner.
Sotton now take a 1-2 lead at Coventry.
Stephen Pearson has been sent off for Bristol City at Crawley as they trail 1-0. Curtains for Calamity James and Co.
Spurs now lead Cheltenham 3-0.
Macclesfield's defense playing out of their skins right now. You can tell that Nigel Winterburn is really enjoying this. His voice is really excited to see this quite valiant stand.
Stevenage still lead 0-1 reading according to Steve Hooker. What a name!
What a superb save by Vega from Klasnic as there is four minutes of stoppage time.
I am back to see a crucial save by the Maccie keeper in the last minute
4 added minutes
I agree Gooner. What a cup tie that the LOBERS are missing! A superb natch.
This is the pressure that I thought Bolton would apply from the 65 minute mark. Too little too late I think. Payday approaches for the Town.
Welocome back UWS. Great to have you back. How did the repairs go. I know they are not fun.
Well stated Gooner.
Salisbury City have scored at Bramall Lane , nut too little too late as they trail the Blades 3-1.
Everything went well thank you
Will everyone be around for Bristol Rovers vs Villa.
What upsets are on the cards today besides this one?
When you see the highlights you should see the 2nd Macclesfield goal. it was a beauty.
Fulham are four up against League 1 leaders!
Clint has a hat-trick.
LAUNCH IT AND HEAD IT IN MT!!! Last chance.
Derby have beaten Palace 1-0
Spurs have won 3-0
This one is over.. well done Maccies!
BUGGER! EVIL QPR HAVE TIED IT UP AT THE FAKE DONS.
1649: Things go from bad to worse for QPR. Having used all three subs Neil Warnock watches Alejandro Faurlin get stretchered off. The visitors are down to 10 men and in desperate need of a goal. It doesn't look like coming though.
It has finished 2-2 at Macclesfield and a deserved standing ovation.
It has finished West Brom 4 Evil Cardiff 2.
Well, well, well. Macclesfield holds Bolton and heads to the Reebok. Great result for them and it could have been even better.
Right. Errands to do so I have to sign off MUR. Have a great Saturday and good luck tomorrow.
Paolo Di Canio's Swindon have defeated Wigan 2-1
Birghton being held 1-1 by Wrexham
BUT QPR TIE IT UP THRU HELGUSON
Cheers Gooner. Have a great day.
Both League Cup Semi Finalist Cardiff and Palace are both out of the FA Cup at the first hurdle!
Swansea win 2-4 at Barnsley as Danny Graham scores a hat-trick and Riocardo Vaz Te scored twice for Barnsley.
I see that Bolton did play some decent players in their game
Correct . would you consider Swindon 2 Wigan 1 a classic upset.
What a goal Macclesfield scored!!
Newcastle come from behind to take a late 2-1 lead vs Blackburn.
Hull City now lead Ipswich 3-1.
I am off for walkies... talk to you guys later
TTFN
Correct,UWS. Bolton put out a decent team, but Macclesfield deserved their draw. A standing ovation for them from Yours Truly.
Cheers, UWS. Enjoy the walk.
So the upset of the day is Paolo Di Canio's Swindon defeating Wigan 2-1 as they have already defeated two League One sides.Di Canio is taking the Fa Cup Seriously.
a minor upset as Crawley defeat Bristol City 1-0 and three Creditable draws:
Fake Dons 1 Evil Qpr 1
Macclesfield 2 Bolton 2
Daggenham 0 Millwall 0
Also a special mention to Tamworth for giving it a go at Goodison despite losing 2-0 to Everton. A brave performance by Tamworth.
I know we at LOB don't normally follow Scottish football, but a special mention to Auchinleck Talbot as they lost 1-0 at Hearts and did not concede until the final minutes.
WELL DONE TALBOTS!
I am gong to be a copycat and take Sparky walkies.I promise not to give an update on the current weather conditions even though they are good.
Can you Adam and Eve it as Webbie will be officiating for the Memorial Stadium as Bristol Rovers host Villa?
Rovers defeated AFC Totton in the last round so they could face Villa.
The match kicks off from the Memorial Stadium.
The pitch looks like something from the 70s. Well done!
I will keep my mouth shut, but it felt kind of Belizey during Walkies.
Rovers have the first attack and a cross is straight to Guzan.
Villa struggle to settle as Rovers dominate early.
To be honest this looks like a Championship level stadium, but the same cannot be said about the pitch.
A long range effort from Zebroski falls tamely to Guzan as it took a couple of deflections.
The replay shows that Stephen Warnock struggles to come to terms with the pitch as his attempted cross takes a weird, awkward bounce.
Great tackle bey Zebrowski.
Credit to Rovers as they attempt to play their way out of the back instead of thumping it. Are you watching Mr. Pulis?
Villa win their first corner.
Rovers clear the corner.
Rovers were relegated from League One last season and are just above the drop zone in League 2. Hard to believe that based on their early showing.
Better from Villa as they now start to dominate possession and a cross from Albrighton is headed away bey a defender as the keeper was hopelessly out of position.
The rovers keeper came out to beat Bent to an excellent long ball.
Just over the bar from Ivanhoe off a cross from Stephen Ireland.
The match has gone into a lull after a spell of sustained Villa pressure.
Ivanhoe has a powerful effort blocked then Ireland has an effort blocked.
Pope does well to tip over a header from Ivanhoe off the corner. Then off the resulting corner , Albrighton miserably slices a shot that lands near the corner flag. The Rovers fans were delighted.
Petrov beats Pope to the ball off a long cross and his header is cleared off the line by a Rovers defender.
Carayol was down injured for Rovers after a Villa foul and is replaced. What a shame.
I seemed to be a minor foul, but Carayoul must be devastated.
Now 38 year old Scott McGleish is on for Rovers in place of Carayoul. He played for Orient in the cup against the Gunners last year.
Now Rovers win a corner to end a spell of Villa pressure.
Villa easily clear the corner then a long Rovers cross is easily gathered by Guzan who sees his first action in about twenty minutes.
Villa back on the attack as Albrighton skips past the left back and his cross is headed away. Ireland attempts to play Albrighton through, but he is offside to the delight of the Rovers fans.
Oles from the Rovers fans as their defenders put together about six passes.
GOAL 0-1 VILLA AS ALBRIGHTON FINISHES COOLLY PAST POPE AT THE NEAR PAST FROM A SUPERB THROUGH BALL FROM STILLIAN PETROV.
It is hard to see a way back for Rovers as they have not really pose3d an attacking threat since about the fifth minute.A superb effort from Rovers , but Villa have to much class for this side.
A naughty challenge from Stephen Ireland and not even a booking?
A shocking finish from Stephen Warnock as he is played in superbly by the naughty Stephen and Rovers fans are delighted by that sliced shot.
Young Richards sliced at a cross that could have gone anywhere then Zebrowski forces a decent save from Brad Guzan with a shot from just outside the box.
A free kick from Stanley is easily cleared by the Villa defense.
