The Long Road to Wembley Begins....
The 2012 FA Cup starts in earnest today as the 3rd Round kicks off and the big boys of the Championship and Premiership jump into the fray. It all begins this afternoon as Liverpool host Oldham Athletic in less that sparkling form and without the services of bad boy Luis Suarez. If you're around, give us a shout on the LOB, eh?

The dreaded gray box in the way
Oldham will be relishing playing at Anfield.
The MUFC Acxademy factor is up to one as Kieran Lee of Oldham is a former United Academy player. The announcer woinders if he will get some stick.
Simpson of Oldham is down as Coates comitted a foul
Hiya, MUR! Great to hear from you. I thought I might be flying solo this afternoon. I'm good - how about you, mate?
Oldham seem to be holding their own in the early stages as it is still 0-0 .Now Oldham blow an opportunity as Shefki Kuqi outmuscles Coates and instead of passing to Simpson who would have had a tap in, he shot from a difficult angle.
Hello BD. I will be around till the end of the first half when my last class starts.
I wish you a safe and happy trip to Belize.
Bellamy shoots well over after being set up by Stevie G.
Is Friday night football two weeks in a row at Anfield a first other than World Cup '66?
Olkdham have restricted Liversox to very few chances in the first fifteen minutes. In fact their keeper has't made a save in anger. That is an encouraging sign.
Thanks for the link, mate. It looks great.
Cheers BD. I still have the dreaed gray box and though you would prefer that over Wycombe vs Huddersfield.
I reckon that the Wycombe v. Huddersfield is just a grey box over the whole affair.
I second that,BD.
A chance for Oldham , but the shot from Taylor was well wide. They have had morew chances than Liversox.
Olham have 38 Pual Gerrard on their books as a reserve keeper. He played for Oldham when they were last in the top flight.
Bellamy to swing a free kick over here....
Kuyt nods well over.
Kuyyt heads over from a great free kick from Bellamy.
GOAL! Oldham have taken the lead. Robbie Simpson with a screamer at the Kop End!
0-1!
GOAL !!! 0-1 OLDHAM AS ROBBIE SIMPSON PUTS oLDHAM AHEEAD!
What a finish off the goal kick with a rocket in the top corner.
WOW! Liversox tie it up a minute later as Bellamy deflects in a shot from Jonjo Shelvey. Now it is 1-1.
Cisak did not stand a chance due to that deflection from Bellamy.
Cisak makes a great save from Maxi's clase range effort.
Now Liversox have a corner. Furman heads away the corner from Stevie G.
Hey Boys,
I have a link going on First Row too
I tihnk Scapuzzi is on loan from Mna Citeh as he has been a virtual spectator in the Oldham attack.
Hello UWS. Will you be around for the FA Cup action tomorrow?
I hope to be
Bob, when are you buggering off?
My class is about to start . I look forward to chatting this weekend .
CHEERS BD and UWS!
I'm off in the middle of the night tonight.
Take care MUR
You lucky bugger BD
How are long are you there for?
Two weeks, mate. Should be fun but I'm be sad to miss some of the footer.
Will you be following any of it?
Will you see any of the Dahlgren derby?
Penalty to LiverSox... not much of contact... a bit of dive
Bloody cheats
Last minute of the half... Stevie G to take it.... 2-1... right in the top corner... wallop
Half time and LiverSox take their lead to half time
Watching the highlights of the first half... it was all Oldham!
Teams out for the second half
I'm back from a refreshing afternoon shower. What value is Stevie G. to this side. Wow!
Welcome back
I haven't been watching it of late... busy pottering around the house
Very strategic work by LiverSox with the Suarez ban.
They decided not to appeal so he could serve the ban during the hectic schedule
This match and both legs of Citeh semi final takes up three of them
What a save!!!!
I'm doing the same thing, just making sure that I've packed everything and am leaving things all sorted out here.
I agree - the cups don't mean a lot to Liverpool - their main goal has to be getting back into Europe.
I can't believe all of the numpty Liverpool fans who have been calling into 606 complaining about the Suarez ban - he admitted it!
"in south america... it is a loving term... I would call Kuyt Blondie"
Blimey - I've just noticed that Huddersfield are 0-6 up at Wycombe - they're going to go up for sure this season. Another Yorkshire derby for us in the Championship.
Yeah - that's a old of old rubbish. They all know that.
Try calling one of your Latin students "Negrito" and see how long you last in your school, eh?
Shelvey scores for Pool... game over
GOAL! Stevie G. again! No - it's Shelvey that contacted last.
3-1!
Game over, eh?
This one's in the bag, seemingly, and I'm a bit pushed for time, so I'm going to abandon this one in progress. Liverpool look safely into the 4th round.
Cheerio, lads. Next stop - Belize City!
Take care Bob
Have a safe trip and a great time!

89th minute.. Andy Carroll with a decent finish from outside the box
Told you it was over!
4-1
You'll Never Walk Alone is being sung by the Kop..... it's Oldham! I think the United of the last two games couldn't have beaten them...maybe not
Andy Carroll's 6th goal in 30 odd games... a much better rate that Torres
Almost a seventh... unmarked header from seven yards out.... over the top
94th minute and Stuart Downing has scored his first Liverpool goal knocking in a saved shot at the back post
Last kick of the match!
Oldham were dominating but the early equalizer and the dodgy penalty call changed everything
Take care Boys
