Lakenheath Old Boys

We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Ahead of one last big weekend in English domestic football, here's a trivia morsel to get you scratching your heads: "Which four teams have won three consecutive top-flight titles?" (Hint: one of them has done that feat twice!) Good luck, chaps!

Wasn't it the same manager at Huddersfield and Arsenal?

Herb Chapman?

So, he and Fergie has both done it twice

It was indeed. Herbert brought in the brand new "W-M" formation that dominated through til England's bad loss at Wembley to Hungary in 1956.

Herbie would have won more but I think he died before the season ended for the third Arsenal victory

I knew the answer to the trivia question, but it was already answered by the time I logged in. Congratulations, UWS. Herbie passed away from pneumonia in January of 1935. I think the England loss was in 1953 by a 3-6 score. I have a question. Who is the better Arsenal manager: Herbie or Arsene and why?

DISCUSS!!!
