Lakenheath Old Boys

We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

All Aboard the Woy Train!

Well, bugger me backward - Woy is the new England manager! I didn't see that coming before yesterday. The new supremo now has five weeks to whip his England squad into world beaters. And spare a thought for poor old Harry Redknapp, unless you're Gooner and Simon who must be killing themselves laughing this morning. Your thoughts, gentlemen? I don't know why Roy's agreed to do this at right now. If it were I, I'd let Psycho or Icarus Redknapp take this poisoned chalice and run with it. After the inevitable quarter final loss and exit, and then the hoopla that will surround the CPS trial of the Chel$ki Fuehrer, that's the time to swan in and take over.

I don't know; I reckon Woy might be crazy like a fox on this one. After all, he's been rebuilding his reputation after a disastrous stint at Anfield. Under ordinary circumstances, he might have been passed over by the FA in favor of Icarus.

I suspect that the expectations for England this summer are as low as in my memory. If Woy picks the kids and England play reasonably well in the group stages and get knocked out in glorious form by either Italy or Spain in the quarters, who will complain?

Then he starts building a new squad for Brazil 2014 - that's the real job ahead.

I don't get that his stint at Liverpool was disastrous. Wasn't his record there very similar to Dalglesh's? If anything isn't he held in higher esteem for being pushed out of Klanfield and for not being responsible for their scandalous behavior and results?

My suspicion is that he's been picked because the FA are reasonably assured that he's the only English candidate whose closet doesn't sound like Ramsey Lewis is in there bangin' away.

I am pleased with the appointment and feel Woy is a much better choice and more qualified than Icarus. He has international experience and is more qualified than Icarus. The only knock against Woy is that for some reason he tends to do better with smaller clubs and countries where he doesn't need to deal with the egos. That might be a problem when managing England and some of the characters in the side. I agree that he would have been better off taking over after the EUROS , but even if England is eliminated early on can you say that he was given enough time. I think he deserves a chance to see what he can do with the national team and he is definitely a better choice than Icarus.

I am pleased too... in fact... I called it earlier.

He will do better than Harry.

Bruv Mike was right about Sir Trev disliking him. He blamed sneaky Harry for behind the scenes moves to get rid of Billy Bonds at West Ham so he could take over

That could be one of the reasons

Harry is just another Delboy Trotter
