Lakenheath Old Boys
We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

All the matches this morning in the Championship are being played concurrently starting at 12:30 GMT. The big one is Southhampton v. Coventry at St. Mary's where the home fans will be hoping that the Saints will be going up.
I'm on the Football Focus link to start the morning. They've just had a competition for best goal celebration. Some good ones there but I have to go with Jimmy Bullard's mocking of Phil Brown for Wolves.
Very simple prospect for the Saints. They win, they're into the Prem. And they're up against Coventry, who've already been relegated and should play a bunch of kids. St. Mary's expects.
Hammers, fans, however, will hope that the Sky Blues can get something. They have to win and make up some goals on the Saints in their match against Hull City.
The team news out of Elland Road:
Leeds: Lonergan, Connolly, Bruce, Leeds, Pugh, Snoddy, Brown, Clayton, Thompson, McCormack, Becchio.
Subs: O'Brien, Forssell, Nunez, Webber, Taylor
Leicester: Schmeichel, Moore, St. Ledger, Morgan, Konchelsky, Dyer, Drinkwater, Bamba, Marshall, Beckford, Waghorn
Subs: Logan, Peltier, Vassell, Panayiotu, Nugent.
The main link is on to the Soton v. Coventry match. I've also got a link up for Soccer Saturday here:

Kick off time for the Championship matches - come on, you Foxes!
Morning Bob
I am here and I have the match at St. Marys on Plus
Sotton almost in!
I have Soccer Saturday on the computer
Crowd sounds great
Morning, UWS. I could probably dial up the match on Plus as well, but I can't be arsed to get out of bed right now. Maybe at half time.
How are you, mate?
Big Nose Phil thinks that Rafael is your weak link. Your thoughts?
Merse picks Citeh
Le Tiss picks United
Charlie and Big Nose go for a 1-1
Le Tiss must be on pins and needles today.
Vaz Te has gone close for the Hammers.
I am not bad
Horrible week. Bunch of state math tests and my kids don't care!!!
Only one game this weekend for the Nocitos. Tom has his alumni game... no others.. very needed after last weekend!
The only other issue in the Championship is between Cardiff and Boro for that last playoff spot.
Yeah - I've been hearing much the same from my pre-service teachers and grad students. Their students are bored with testing and can't be bothered.
When is Tom's game?
Wow - Coventry have a chance!
The Saints are very nervy early on.
Good spell by Coventry... two chances in quick succession... come on Saints
I'd be reasonably happy with Reading, Soton and West Ham in the Premiership next season. But which of them, if any, will be able to survive?
This is how I want Citeh to play on Monday... nervy.
Apparently, Citeh didn't play too well against Wolves. They looked nervous
Ipswich have scored against relegated Donny.
I think they would have a good shot.. look at Norwich and Swansea
Remember, only 2 of 5 teams are going down so that leaves at least three crap teams in the Prem
Ipswich take the lead at Donny
I know that Hammers want Sotton to drop something here and all of us on LOB like the Hammers but I think Sotton deserve to go up
That Ramires goal was one heckuva goal - one of the best of the season IMHO, given the situation.
Loving that Neviller commentary again on SS.
Millwall take the lead against Blackpool
Millwall take the lead against Blackpool who are already in the playoffs.
Palace take the lead against Evil Cardiff!!
Boro have a chance! They need to win at Watford
Evil Cardiff are in trouble as Palace take the lead. I'd much prefer Boro but they need a win.
You make a good point about last season's crowd. All three may survive at this point.
The Saints have scored and Le Tiss is shouting "Get in!" Magic!
Billy Sharpe with the final touch - they're on their way - 1-0!
I take the dog out for a pee and miss a goal!
ONE NIL SOTTON
What did le Tiss do?
TWO NIL!!!!
Le Tiss stands up!!
St. Marys is rocking!!
Saints are 2-0 up - Lalana with the second. They're all but up now.
They are talking about the yellows in the semis
The Euros are wiping the cards clean after the Quarters... that is good
They are talking about the Terry incident.... it reminds me of the Beckham kick on Simione
Derby take the lead against Pboro
I do feel bad for the likes of Ivanovic. Gooner mentioned that there was a pundit who went up to him and asked him about missing the final and Ivanovic didn't realize until that point. His face just collapsed!
I saw that interview... he looked confused!
Two yellows should never get you banned. A red.. yes.
There is talk of Terry lifting the trophy. Never... Keane couldn't do it. Just wait til it is on the field and he is still in his suit.. like Keane and Scholes
Brum take the lead against Champions Reading
BBC 5 live sports extra summariser Clive Walker at Upton Park:
"I would think Big Sam has told his backroom staff not to tell him about Southampton's score until half-time, because he will want to get on with winning the game. Then he will assess things a bit, and possibly take play-off games into consideration."
Blackpool have tied it up at The Den
Ipswich are two up
That would be smarter than I give Fat Sam credit. I think the Hammers can get through the playoffs.
What are your thoughts about Monday?
Off to the loo
I know... TMI
Donny get a goal back before I go
I'm predicting a draw. That would mean a United title.
Still 0-0 at ER. I'm disappointed. I was hoping for a JB hat-trick by this point.
Wahay - the Foxes have taken the lead! Waghorn with the opener. Come on JB - it's your birthday!
That's us down to 14th now. Wouldn't mind if Ipswich finished above us as well - they'd need to make up five goals on us now.
Im back
Did I miss any goals?
Into stoppage time in the first half. As things stand, the Saints will be promoted and Evil Cardiff are still in the playoffs.
Yeah - Leicester are 0-1 up on us now. Well in!
I am feeling okay about Monday
I hope that Newcastle beat Wigan today so they will be up for the match next week
Half time at StM... half way there
The Hammers are leading at half 1-0
Cambridge are losing at Tamworth... they used to be in the second tier!!
Big Nose thinks that Chelski should concentrate on getting the 4th CL spot rather than winning the tournament. I think that's crazy talk. You?
I think Blackburn could be down
They have Tottenham A, Wigan H and Chelsea A
He's right about those players that can't play in the Final will be available
I know you can say this about a lot of United games this year but only if Citeh hadn't scored that late second penalty against Spurs... only if Citeh didn't score those two late goals against Sunderland... only if
I don't think you'll have to worry.
As it stands now, the playoffs will be
Cardiff v West Ham
Blackpool vs Birmingham
It could still change. A Blackpool win could put them above Brum. They would still play each other but switch games.
Of course, if Boro win at Watford they could replace Cardiff
You've been saying it has been over for weeks!
You said it was over when it was 3-1 and 4-2... I AIN'T LISTENING TO YOU!
I know that you'll be a nervous nelly up until the final whistle.
Looking at the Championship table... Leeds are ONLY 11 points off the play offs.... if they had their old manager... they wouldn't have lost at home to Watford, Derby, Forest and Brighton.. there's your 12 points and you're up even without a win today at home!
Second half underway at St. Marys
I agree - if we lose today, it'll be 8 losses in 13 matches in charge. Surely that's a poor enough record for Bates to admit that he made a mistake and sack Warnock. Clean slate for next season. That's what I want.
We're back on for the second halves.
The Hammers are 2-0 up over Hull now.
Villa are on a glass mountain with slippers on... according to Merse
Are they going to get another point this season
West Brom A
Tottenham H
Norwich A
They could be stuck on 36 points
Blackburn have 31 with
Spurs A
Wigan H
Chelsea A
Bolton have 33
Spurs H
Sunderland A
West Brom H
Stoke A
Wigan have 34
Newcastle H
Blackburn A
Wolves A
QPR have 34
Chelsea A
Stoke H
Citeh A
West Ham are two up
Two goals by Coventry and one by West Ham and it would all on again
Jeff is trying to stoke the fires here but can anyone really see Coventry scoring three against Soton away in the second half?
Cardiff have tied it up at Selhurst
Spurs are in rotten form, so Villa could get something against them. They'll have to.
Hey.. they only need two... if West Ham score a few more
Record attendance at St M....32,000
My guess is Blackburn and QPR relegated along with Wolves.
The Hammers would have to score three more!
I think Blackburn and Villa
I would love it to have Hughsie go and cost Citeh on the last day of the season after the way he was treated by them
Sunderland haven't scored a goal since the match at the Etihad!
THAT'S IT!!
THREE NIL
3-0 Saints and it's party time at St. Mary's.
They are Premier League... they are Premier League
Is Ricky Lambert a Premiership level striker?
Ross Pennington: "On the Grant Holt and Rickie Lambert comparison - they played together up front for us (Rochdale) many moons ago. Again at Euro 2012?"
FOUR NIL
I've just noticed that Newcastle have a game in hand on Arsenal
Wigan A
Chelsea A
CIteh H
Everton A
Cardiff have now taken the lead.. they're in the playoffs
Cardiff could still move up higher in the play offs
Norwich back to back promotions... great season in the Prem
Same for Southampton?
I am a big Newcaslte fan for the next week
I'm really hoping that Newcastle get a chance in the Champions League. They deserve it.
I'd like another Leicester goal right about now - come on, JB!
I agree.. Chelsea could ruin that
They would have to overtake Arsenal to make sure
I want Wigan to survive but I don't want them to win today
I don't really see Chelski pulling it off against Bayern...in Munich...with so many players missing. Not going to happen.
Stop rubbing dirt in their face... Leeds have done enough to get him the sack... it won't happen though
Not his team... he has already said that
Of course, you didn't see them get a draw at the Nou Camp with ten men and two down!
Wigan will get six points from their last two fixtures - that's 40 points and safety for them.
No, I didn't. But they can't just hang on against Bayern in a final.
Come on, Ipswich - let's have a few goals, eh?
I agree... I hate not to root for an English team in the Final but I don't think it is right that they would knock out Spurs, Toon or Arsenal for the CL
Watford take the lead against Boro
Forest lead against Pompey
That's torn it - Watford are 1-0 up! Evil Cardiff looking good for that last playoff spot.
My thoughts exactly. Ordinarily I'd root for an English side but it's a farce to have a side that was second last season and 4th or 5th this season winning the Champions League.
I think UEFA should not knock out one of the top four for the Champions. If a club wins the trophy and didn't qualify through the league, they should have a chance to defend their title only through prelim rounds... TOUGH.. qualify in the league.
Another team should not be hurt by their success
Blackpool take the lead at Millwall
That goal puts Blackpool back on top of Birmingham and have a home match for the second leg
Birmingham are two up so that stops any chance of Cardiff overtaking them
The playoffs would be
Cardiff v West Ham
Birmingham v Blackpool
for the first legs
Second through sixth all winning currently in the Championship.
Burnley take the lead against Bristol City... shame it doesn't matter
Do you think Arsenal could be in danger of the CL?
Burnley have taken the lead over Bristol City, who are lucky to survive this season. In a fairer world, they'd be down and Pompey would have survived.
Rooney for hat-trick for United on Monday to take over the top goalscorer lead
No - I expect Arsenal to be in the CL next season. But I wonder if Arsenal fans will accept another season without winning anything and 3rd or 4th in the Prem. Is that good enough for a big club?
Hull get a goal back at Upton Park
Cambridge take the lead at Tamworth
Merse is making the point that RVP is likely to leave Arsenal this summer - I agree.
West Brom v Villa is on Plus at 10
Wigan v Newcastle is on FSC
Peterboro tie it up at Pride Park
Bristol City do the same at Turf Moor
Again - the SS boys are merely stoking the fires. Even if Newcastle win and Arsenal lose today, Arse have a huge GD advantage. And even if Newcastle were to grab the 3rd spot, Arse would still be in 4th.
CHELSKI WILL NOT WIN THE CL - Nostrabobus has spoken!
Looks like the crowd at St. Marys about to invade the field
Millwall tie it up against Blackpool... they would swap positions
I'll be watching the Newcastle match - I like watching them this season.
I'm all in favor of pitch invasions when clubs get promoted.
Bloody hell - Danny Webber has leveled it at ER! His first for the club. Where did that come from?
We're still in 14th with poorer GD than Burnley.
Two minutes for Saints fans to wait until they pile onto the pitch for the celebrations.
There it is! Fans streaming onto the pitch as Southhampton are promoted.
Newcastle have a game in hand
Leeds tie it up
Webber
Well Done Southampton.. well deserved
I can't believe it has been seven years!
Did they spend one year in League 1?
Evil Cardiff have won 1-2 at Palace - they're in 6th and the playoffs.
Alan Pardew was the manager before this manager
Yeah - they went into administration two seasons ago and were relegated to L1 - they've now had double promotions.
Lambert and Holt to head the line in the Euros
This has got to be a bitter pill to swallow for Pompey fans, though. They're South Coast rivals top of the heap while they're down in the dumps.
Ipswich have won it 2-3 at Donny.
You're having a laugh about the Euros!
I bet you that Le Tis wishes he was there and not in the studio
It sounds like Sotton had a ten point deduction in League 1 and finished seventh.
They must have had two seasons in L1
I'd back your two United boys to lead the line - Young and Welbeck. That's the best we've got.
Watford score a late winner against Boro
I'm off for a shower, mate. Back in a tick.
Forest are two up against Pompey
Ipswich have beaten Donny 3-2
Leeds lose with a last minute goal conceded!
ELEVEN HOME DEFEATS!!!
The play offs are set
Cardiff v West Ham
Blackpool v Birmingham
Leeds lost seven of last ten... Warnock is brilliant!!
Cardiff West Ham is on Thursday
Blackpool vs Brum is on Friday
Two big games in League 1
Both big clubs need a win
Sheff Utd host and in-form Stevenage
Sheff. Wed visit Brentford
One point between them
Classic video of Fergie showing the fourth official his watch and Moyes comes over and checks it too!
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is at the Liberty Stadium to watch Swansea's game aganst Wolves, according to BBC Radio 5 live. Not a surprise as Sir Alex's men face the Swans after the little matter of the Manchester derby on Monday.
Luton have clinched the final play off spot for the Conference
Good morning BD and UWS. I slept in late as most of the Championship issues had been decided. I guess Sotton were promoted and the Hammers are in the playoffs.
Fleetwood are Champs
Wrexham v Luton
Mansfield v York
Fleetwood are a first timer but the other four are all old Football League teams
The bottom of League 2 is close
Two out of three teams will go down
Plymouth are safe
Barnet have 40 pts
Hereford have 38
Macclesfield have 37
Each have two to play
Are you watching Wigan vs Newcastle or Stoke vs Arsenal.
Morning MUR
I have FSC on so it is Newcastle for me
I will switch it over to the other match too
Everton better not go and lose today with an unchanged side
Morning, MUR - a well deserved lie-in, I'm sure.
You didn't miss much, actually. Southhampton confirmed the second auto promotion spot and Evil Cardiff confirmed their play-off spot.
I'm delighted to see that we lost to a last gasp goal. That's 8 defeats in 13 under Warnock - sack him now, Cap'n Birdseye!
Wigan v. Newcastle about to start. The Magpies are wearing an odd orangey away kit.
Never going to happen
Now that our season is over, I'm happy to put the lucky Leeds shirt back on. It's the first time since Evil Neil took over. Hope it inspires Ken to do the right thing today.
They wore it against Swansea and won 2-0
Now Bob... what happens when Warnie is still there in August.... Are you backing them 100%?
How can Ken argue that Neil was only dealing with Simon's side? He did worse! As you mentioned earlier, when Simon was sacked we were still in contention for the playoffs. Since Neil took over, we've been well out of it in the bottom half.
Swansea take the lead without Wolves getting a touch of the ball from kick off
I'll be backing them 100% with all the mojo I've got. But still hoping that Warnock will be sacked sooner rather than later.
Wigan go close straight from the kick-off - they're up for it!
I understand where you are coming from but Warnie has already said most of the players won't be back.. that's why their so bad!
Old Leeds boy's team take the lead at Walsall
With Fulham kicking off early, they've leapfrogged Liverpool - it's hilarious seeing Pool in 9th place. Will King Kenny survive the summer sacking season?
Bloody Hell... TWO NIL SWANSEA
Wolves must have touched it for their kick off
Hello lads I am back and I am watching wigan vs Newcastle while recording Stoke vs RAsenal on the other telly. Are you watching the Gilette Soccer Special
Plymouth are in the lead already
Wycombe and Notts County are already 1-1
MK Dons take the lead at Rochdale
Great solo run by Di Santo, but his shot is deflected straight to Krul.
You have Plus too?
I'm watching SS
Everton take the lead from the spot
That's pure bollocks from Warnock as usual. The players he's brought in - Paul Robinson, for example, have been the worst of a bad lot.
We will lose Snoddy, Becchio and McCormack over the summer and Warnock - if he's there - will bring in a bunch of cloggers to complement Michael Brown. How will that make us a better side?
I agree but Bates is an idiot!
I do have Plus for the moment. But I'm watching Wigan v. Newcastle.
Everton have scored at Goodison - Jelavic again!
Well, at least we agree on that score.
I agree that the form is SACK WORTHY
Oh - Cisse had a chance there but the free kick came to him too quickly.
Statisticians Infostrada Sports on Twitter: "Fulham start with 11 foreign players today, third time they have done it this Premier League season - Arsenal (two) and Wigan (one) have also done it."
I have it on and I am delighted to see Jeff.Tiote is down and Toon have a free kick heasded well over by Cisse.A decent free kick from Cabaye.
STOKE TAKE THE LEAD!!
Stoke have scored after all Arsenal pressure early doors. Crouchie will the goal. Oh dear.
Stoke take the lead through Peter Crouch from a header. Does it matter?
Is Stoke Arsenal on?
ESPN?
WBA and Villa are on Plus
Loving it
Three matches on the TV at once!
Demba Ba is injured for Newcastle . That would be a huge loss.
Stoke is on ESPN 2.
Odemwingie missed an open goal for West Brom. If Villa lose then I predict that they will be relegated.
In L1, if you're bothered to know, Charlton are champs and the two evil Sheffield clubs are battling over second spot. The Fake Dons and Huddersfield are in the playoffs and Stevenage, County and Carlisle are battling for the last qualifying spot.
I missed the Ba injury... is he okay
He was having a strop last week when substituted.
He was all the rage until Cisse came... I hope he isn't jealous
Wigan take the lead!!
I think he's okay. He is an integral part of Newcastle's CL hopes.
Wigan have scored!
What a run by Wigan
Wins against Liverpol, United and Arsenal and maybe Newcastle!
Should have beaten Chelsea too
GOAL!!! 1-0 WIGAN AS VICTOR MOSES SCORES WITH A GREAT HEADER FROM A SUPER CROSS BY BEAUSEJOUR.
