Good Morning Bob
CUP FINAL DAY INDEED!!
I just came on the website to post a thread but you beat me to it. I first opened the page and there was no picture... then it popped up.... it was EXACTLY the same picture I had ready to go
Morning, Dave! Sorry I beat you to it. Macca and Ian are rounding up the week's goals, including that cracker from Cisse. What a goal!
Good morning BD and UWS. It will be an Evil FA Cup Final as I chat from my hotel room in the Alamo City
I will be around for the entire match . Can you believe that I have never been around for an FA Cup Final on LOB?
RVP posing with the PFA Player of the Year Award.
I have Five Live on the radio. I guess they don't have the rights for the Arsenal match. Interesting Cup Final talks
Raining at Wembley at the moment
Morning, MUR!
Teams news out of the Emirates:
Arsenal: Szczesny, Sagna, Koscielny, Vermaelen, Gibbs, Ramsey, Song, Gervinho, Rosicky, Benayoun, van Persie. Subs: Fabianski, Park, Andre Santos, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Djourou, Chamakh, Coquelin.
Norwich: Ruddy, Naughton, Ryan Bennett, Martin, Lappin, Johnson, Howson, Elliott Bennett, Hoolahan, Jackson, Holt. Subs: Steer, Morison, Surman, Pilkington, Fox, Wilbraham, Ward.
Referee: Anthony Taylor (Cheshire).
It must be doing the same at the EM, just down the road. And we're off from the EM.
I was wrong..Five Live just clicked off.. they have commentary of the match
We're off
HUge day for Arsenal
It must be doing the same at the EM, just down the road. And we're off from the EM.
It must be doing the same at the EM, just down the road. And we're off from the EM.
Wahay - it's kick-off time!
I agree - a huge match for the Arsenal. They need the three points, no doubt.
GOAL! Benayoun with a curler!
GOAL... GREAT FINISH BY BENAYOUN
WOW !WHAT A GOAL BY BENAYOUN IN THE FIRST MINUTE . A CURLER IN THE UPPER 90.
Why did the Canaries stand back and let him tee up a shot?
Norwich have conceded in every away match
I would be most of the bottom teams have done that
Definitely a must win match for the Gooners. Sorry for posting the same comment a hat-trick of times. Has that ever happened on LOB. That would be a dubious record.
Meant to say
I would BET...
So Arsenal leap out to a four point lead on Spurs ahead of the Sunday matches.
Even Wolves kept a clean sheet the other week at Sunderland.
That takes talent... especially with my comment stuck in the middle
oooh... Holt was almost in there...that was in if it wasn't blocked
Oh - Simeon Jackson did well to pull a cross back for Holt but Gibbs blocked well.
Great block by Gibbs from Holt after a great run by Simeon Jackson.
That's a true hat-trick, MUR!
I an says it was the wettest April in the U.K. It did seem like the rain was teeming down at every match last month.
Thanks lads. This laptop is bloody slow.
I just know that most email from Tony during the month was talking about the rain
Ian makes a big mistake - I knew that Citeh hadn't beaten Arsenal at the Emirates - I was there!
They do bring May flowers!
Soccer Saturday from First Row
There is also a link for Cup Final build up starting at 10:15
http://www.firstrowsports.eu/watch/122597/1/watch-soccer-saturday.html
Norwich are doing well
Nice idea from Bradley Johnson off the free kick, but a foul was called as there was head tennis in the box.
Thanks for the link, UWS!
All Norwich!
Headed well over by Holt as Szexny made a complete hash of that cross.
GOAL! Now Norwich have leveled it - Houlihan!
Norwich are level.... absolutely deserved!!
GOAL !!! 1-1 AS WES HOOLIHAN TIES IT UP FOR THE CANBARIES. DISGRACEFUL KEEPING
Szc should have saved that one
That did seem to be coming. Great overlapping run and Houlihan was found in the middle. Sussudio should have saved but he bobbles it in - a howler.
A Canary win would benefit United as the Toon would be up fopr the match vs Citeh after that great win at Chelsea.
I agree. It reminds me of Taibi off a shot from Le Tiss.
The only shots on target have been the goals.
The corner from Rosicky is headed away.
Thanks for the link,UWS. Unfortunately, I will be leaving around that time.
Sorry I can't stick around for the final.
So, will Citeh drop anything at SJP tomorrow?
Mancini has dissed Swansea by saying that United could win 10 nil.
I have done nothing but complain about United this season but we have more points than we ended with last season. We have done 6 points better against all the other teams in the prem than Citeh have. CIteh have a plus seven goal diff but if you take away the TWELVE goal swing in the two derbies we would way ahead!
Sorry I can't stick around for the final.
Oh - Holt was played in there but a fraction offside. Norwich are looking good.
Nice move.. just delayed pass to Holt.. just too late
Holt was offside so despite that save Szezny , he has yet to make an official save today
That Newcastle v. Citeh match is the one I'm most looking forward to this weekend.
Mr Double or Triple Post man will be missed
Now RVP is offside.
Ramsey picks up a yellow card for a late one on my LUFC Academy boy.
Thanks. My timing is perfect as they are sandwiched, if you know wehat I mean.
Do you think Holt deserves to get a run out in the friendlies before the Euros?
Are squads announced before the friendlies? After? In the middle?
Gooners getting restless now. Their side isn't playing well.
Nah - Holt's an older journeyman striker. I hope that Woy goes with the kids. They're the future.
I disagree with Mancini. He knows that the Toon are capable of taking points off of Citeh. If Swansea is so bad then why did Citeh lose at the Liberty Stadium.
Andre, Huddersfield, via text: "Really worried about Arsenal's attitude. Do they realize CL football is in the balance? Not sure they do."
I would like to see Woy give Victor Moses a chance. Also, I am sure Ben Foster will be the number two keeper due to his Baggie connection.I think the squads are announced prior to the friendlies.
I am sure Arsene will have one his famous rants at halftime!
It is a shockingly complacent performance so far from the Arse. I know that the air around Gooner's easy-chair down at 555 E. Nelson Ave has gone pretty blue at this point.
GOAL! Holt gets a bit lucky but they deserve the luck. 1-2!
NORWICH HAVE TAKEN THE LEAD!!!!!!!!
SPURS AND NEWCASTLE ARE GOING LOOPY!!!
A poor resukt from Arsenal could benefit United,
GOAL!!! 1-2 NORWICH AS HOLT SCORES OFF A WICKED DEFLECTION. NICE ONE-TWO WITH HOOLIHAN OFF A LON CLEARANCE AND IT THINK IT DEFLECTED OFF OF SAGNA.
Norwich broke quickly with three on two and when Bradley Johnson found Holt his shot was deflected by Gibbs over Sussudio's head.
Arsenal in trouble!
A loss could mean Europa League footie for the Gunners!
Norwich are all over them!
It is like the the very first game of the Premier League.
Norwich were two nil down at half time and Norwich won 4-2 ... they finished third that season
Oh - RVP was inches away from that Sagna cross. Almost an immediate response.
Stevie must be pulling his hair out!!
Why aren't they up for this one??
Kos is injured off a foul from Simeon Jakson and RVP failed to connect from a great cross. Por Pat Rice is the victim of an Arsene rant.
Sagna is down , holding his hammy. Is that it for him today?
Uh oh - Arsene's throwing his water bottles out of the pram.
Merse not liking Chelsea's side that was put out on Wednesday. Who wasn't playing?
That 4-2 win at Highbury was Norwich's last EPL win vs the Gunners
There will be another impersonation of him by Linekar
Coq Au Vin has come on for the knobbled Sagna.
Sagna is stretchered off. Who will come on for him?
Did you enjoy the Stoke fans doing "The Arsene" last weekend? Gooner was "not amused."
Ah.. that is why FOX have NINE games next Sunday... ESPN have the other one!
I don't have FSC Plus any more.
Thanks BD. If I were Arsene . I would be concerned as Coq Au Vin has had a tough adapting to English footie.
I'm sure we'll be able to find enough matches to watch next Sunday - should be a grand old time.
Sorry about that UWS. That is a lot of games. Too many for P.I.P.
Arsenal visit the Hawthorns next week for the new England manager's last match in charge... could be tough
Did you see that The Sun got roundly panned this week for its Woy headline. I might have to tone it down in order to avoid the P.C. police.
Sorry about that UWS. That is a lot of games. Too many for P.I.P.
Oh - Gibbs had a chance in the box but didn't hit it with much purchase.
That could be . I am still happy WOy was appointed . I am sure he will avoid picking favorites, unlike Harry. UWS, did you say new England or New England. The latter has a Scottish ex Scouyse player in charge!
I was listening to Five Live Daily Football Podcast.
I downloaded the Wednesday version but I guess it downloads the whole week. Great listening while mowing the lawn. Anyway, it was said that The Sun may have been extra nasty because 'Arry has a column in their paper
Some argy bargy off the ball here between Benayoun and Lappin. It was a Beckham effort there v. Argies.
Benayoun kicks out while on the ground.. ala Becks.... no red!
Poor free kick from RVP easily headed out by Bennett. Surtely that was a pen as Coq Au Vin comitted a foul in the box.
Was that a fair challenge in the box?
It is end to end stuff
I think Norwich can not concede again.. if they do.. they will lose
I wouldn't be surprised. They did go over the top with the headline:
"Bwing on the Euwos (We'll see you in Ukwaine against Fwance.")
The free kick from Bennett is headed out for a croner by Kos.
Was that a tug on the shirt! I don't know. I think the ref bottled that one.
Was that a penalty too? His shirt was being pulled!
Koscielny got away with that one.
Poor corner from Bennettbut Kos appeared to foul Rissell Martin off the return cross from Bennett. It should have been a pen
Liverpool have only won FIVE games at Anfield in the league this season
Only Wolves 3, Bolton 4, Wigan 4 and Villa 4 have less home wins
But for the ref, the Gunners could be down 1-3.
Hukk City survived with only three home wins. That must be a record.
I know I am going to miss something but I am off to the loo... can't wait!!!
I know.. TMI
Into stoppage time.Four minutes of stopage time!
Cheers UWS. Do better than Szezny!
Gonner pulling his hair out? What a hippie!
Now it's Vermaelen into the book.
Naughty by Vermaelen on Simeon Jackson and he is deservedly booked,
Great challenge by Kos on Holt to prevent another goal aftera great run by Jackson.
Oh - Holt was nearly in again except for that strategic challenge by Koscielny. It could easily be 1-3.
The half-time whistle goes and the boos ring the ground. Gooners not at all happy.
Halftime and Norwich lead 1-2. Boos from the EM.Rants form Arsene!
Arsenal are lucky only to be down 2-1!
Amazing after they scored so early
Not much firepower on the bench for the Arse... OX or Chamakh is it
YOU ARE CONTAGIOUS!!!
We're back on at the Emirates - what can Arsenal do to claw their way back?
Away we go in the second half
The seond half is underway from the EM.
Not a great start for Arsenal... back pass just hoofed into the stands
I'd have the Ox on for Gervinho who hasn't look as if he's bothered.
Norwich are really pressing Arsenal here. Great work rate!
I secind that BD and UWS!
Useless from Ramsey. I would have him off sooner rather than later
Again, I still think Arsenal will win this. They could score 2 inside the last five minutes. If they score, they'll score again quickly
That's what I think and I am sticking with it
RVP wins a corner off of Elliott Bennett
Why is RVP out wide crossing the ball?
Arsenal have started well - lots of pressure now being absorbed by the Canaries.
Or it could be Wigan all over again!
Vermaalen always seem to be attacking
Again it's RVP crossing it in!!!
Great cross from RVP, but not a single Gunner was up to stab it home.
I hope RVP gets passed by Rooney this weekend!
Of course, Rooney has been DIRE for weeks!
Norwich should have been in again!
Oh - great run from Simeon Jackson and he pulled a good stop out of Sussudio.
Arsene will have a difficult time explaining that home losses to Wigan and Norwich would be the reson that his time would fail to qualify for the CL.
Norwich look dangerous every time they break.
His first save of the match? Ruddy a virtual spectataor at the EM. I bet he did not expect that
Ramsey goes sliding in again and he's close to a second yellow now. Last warning from the ref. Very lucky.
He was a very lucky boy there
Naughty by Ramsey on Nughton.Ramsey is having a mare.
Boom boom, MUR!
Great defending by Naughton on Riociky
Cass Horowitz on Twitter: "As an Arsenal fan I'm starting to regret how much I've mocked the Europa league in the last couple of weeks."
Cheers BD!
Clumsy by Bennett on Song.
Aviral Sethi on Twitter: "This could be the 45 minutes that decide RVP's future"
Coud Podolski be changing his mind?
Oh - Benayoun had a clear headed chance. Straight at Ruddy.
Kos heads straight to Ruddy, unmarked in the six yard box, off the free kick from Rosicky.
What was the boom boom for Basil?
Oh - Naughton rifles one across the area. A little less pace on the ball and Jackson could have found the finishing touch.
oooh... whipped across the box... just missed to be knocked in... Norwich are the better team
I thought that was in again!
Now - it's Hoolihan who goes close after some delicate work from Holt.
OH! Holt just failed to connect off the cros from Bennett
Inches wide from Wes Hoolihan
"England's #9"
RVP has a shot saved and then Ramsey just whiffed
Oh - how did Arsenal not score there! Several big chances!
Jeff is saying it could be 9-1 to Norwich!
A kick save by Ruddy from RVP, then chaos ib the Norwich box, but the cross eludes everyone.
Oh - a shambles there from Sussudio with Holt almost picking his pocket. It's all going on now.
Hoolihan goes into the book for throwing the ball away. This could boil over.
Uh oh... Roberto Martinez won the Manager of the Month... isn't that the kiss of death?
Foolish booking for Hoolihan. A little picky too.
I think 3-6 is more like it.
Norwich have so much space going forward... I have been very impressed with them today
The Ox is about to come on now, presumably for Gervinho.
Why did the ref call that back?
A cross was just about to go over
LUFC Academy gets a last warning from the ref who's being lenient today.
Ruddy to sneak in as the third choice England keeper ahead of the LUFC Academy keeper?
I think the ref's losing control of the match here.
I wouldn't be surprised - I don't feel confident about any of England's keepers apart from Joe Hart.
Carl Stevenson on Twitter: "Wenger doesn't want Oxlade-Chamberlain to go the Euros. That's the only explanation for not playing him."
He's coming on now
About bloody tiome. I hate to say I told you so, but I have called for Ramsey to be replaced for as godd while now. Ox is on in his place.
Still plenty of time for Arsenal to get back into it
Arsene doesn't give a monkey's about international football.
Woy will disagree. Foster must be the number two keeper. I am more inclined to agree with you.
That is definitely true,BD.
Do you think Clint is going to go to Anfield?
I hope not.. I want him to do well!
It's long ball time for the Arsenal fullbacks. This is an extraordinary performance from the Gunners. I don't get it at all.
Inches wide by RVP.
RVP hits one wide again.. here comes Wayne
RVP still stuck on 28 goals - Roon has a chance.
James Boffey on Twitter: "Ramsey, pedestrian and petulant, yet is almost a shoo-in first team player. Free up some extra money for RVP and get rid of him.
Great block by Ryan Nelson from the Verminator.
Bradley Johnson with a strange headed effort there. Corner.
Great block by Bennett from Vermaelen after a great run by Gervinho, then Rosicky has a shot deflected wide. Ruddy punches the corner clear
Arsenal don't just need a goal.. they need two
I sense they will get one.. they are starting to turn the screw and Norwich seem to be sitting back a bit
Great block by Bennett from Vermaelen after a great run by Gervinho, then Rosicky has a shot deflected wide. Ruddy punches the corner clear
The excellent Jackson is trotting off to be replaced by Morrison.
Simein Jackson gets a deserved ovation from the travelling Canary fans as he is replaced by Steve Morison and what is Arsene thinking as the out of form Chamakh is on for Benayoun, who was Arsenal's liveliest player
Now some argybargy between Holt and Song.
... and only goalscorer!
Alex Song is a clever boy as he knows he will not win a fight with Grant Holt. He is smart to walk away
I am not sure about the Ox.. I fear he is just another Walcott.... Southampton will be playing them next year and say... we didn't need you!
GOAL! RVP levels it! 29 goals!
