We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Right then, I'm home from work just on the stroke of kick-off time for most of the fixtures tonight.

Celtic have an early lead away from home. Kris Commons with the goal.
Blackpool and Leeds have an 8pm GMT kick-off along with Bolton and Derby.

We've jumped to the top of the Championship on the strength of that goal - the only side currently with 6 points.
The referee has denied Blackpool a penalty. Phew!
Charlton have gone 2-0 up now against Leicester.

Bristol City are now 2-0 up over a woeful Palace. Palace were lucky to survive last season but I reckon they'll go down alongside Huddersfield and one from Bristol C., Millwall and Forest.
Wednesday are now 2-0 up against Brum but still not a big club.
Two quick goals at the Riverside. 1-1 between Boro and Burnley.
Another penalty shout - the referee is doing an excellent job tonight.

Spitty seems to be keeping Blackpool defenders busy, as he did on Saturday. It's an interesting use of the player.

So it looks like no one will have a perfect record in the Championship. We've done to sixth.
Fifteen minutes left - surprisingly no changes from Warnock.
3-2 Sheffield Wednesday at the death.
Suddenly it's the Tangerines on top of the pops with a perfect record and we've dropped below mid-table. It's a cruel game.
Danny Pugh has replaced Aidy White.
Apparently Emmanuel Adebayor has gone to Spurs on a permanent deal now.

Bugger - Blackpool have hung on for a 2-1 win. Our first loss of the season. Oh well. Three points got - 47 to get for survival. We finish in 14th.
Sorry Mate... I though they were going to hold out for the win!
Sorry Bob.Leeds lost to a good team, but it's a long season and anything can happen. It will be tight as usual and Leeds is definitely in with a shout at promotion.
Cheers, mate. I don't expect any better than mid-table this season given the club's expenditure on new players.
