FA Cup 3rd Round Replay Time!
I've been motoring through the work this morning in order to rationalize skiving off this afternoon and watching the FA Cup 3rd round replays on some dodgy Internet links. Center stage (at least in my eyes) is the all-Championship clash at St. Andrew's between Brum and my beloved LUFC. Join me for all the action from 2:45pm onwards.

I'm back at Blue Devil HQ now heating up some pizza for lunch.
News out of Blighty this afternoon that Vincent Kompany's red card from Sunday has been rescinded, so he'll be set to play this weekend.
No telly coverage this afternoon, chaps, so I'm searching for some dodgy links on-line.
Team news out of St. Andrew's this afternoon:
Birmingham: Doyle, Caldwell, Davies, Burke, Robinson, Morrison, Gomis, Elliott, Redmond, Caddis, King. Subs: Townsend, Ibanez, Lovenkrands, Zigic, Hancox, Hales, Higgins.
Leeds: Ashdown, Byram, Peltier, Lees, Drury, Green, Austin, Brown, Varney, Diouf, McCormack. Subs: Kenny, Pearce, White, Tate, Norris, Hall, Somma.
Referee: A Woolmer
Becchio must have a knock - not even on the bench. Not good!
There doesn't seem to be a Gillette Soccer Special this afternoon. Boo!
The other matches on:
Bournemouth v. Wigan
Brentford v. Southend
Leyton Orient v. Hull
Fake Dons v. Not a Big Club
Stoke v. Palace
Sunderland v. Bolton
Blackpool v. Fulham
WBA v. QPR
Coming up on kick-off time, I may be reduced to following the ticker on Football 365. There is a link later for the 3pm kickoff of WBA v. QPR.
Hey Boys, I am about to leave school but I meeting some friends somewhere so I won't be around
I just read this on the BBC
GET INVOLVED
Tom in Leeds via text: "Scared that Becchio is left out, we cannot afford to lose him."
Is Warny keeping him from being Cup-tied? Scary!!
Kick-off time! MOT!
Afternoon, Dave - I have no idea. Not good at all re: Becchio.
Ah- this clears it up. Becchio has been stricken with the same flu bug that's been going around the camp.
I am worried about it
Did he play in the first match?
Good afternoon lads. Did you find a link tastier than the pizza?
Not looking good as the Whites rely on Becchio to score the goals
Is that PR stuff about the flu!
I am worried he isn't being cup tied!
The Cup kings are at again as Bradford City lead 0-1 at Crewe in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy
Daily Mirror journalist David Anderson on Twitter: "Wilfried Zaha starts at Stoke before his proposed big move to Man United. Fergie is said to be here to watch his prospective new signing."
Still no coverage of even the live match at the top of the hour - absurd!
I hadn't thought about that. Not a good sign
I can't get to any web pages at my school computer... I can't believe there are no links
I read that SAF was keen to sign Zaha. As fa r as I know there are not any televised matches today. Correct?
Yeah - he did play in the first match at Elland Road.
Afternoon, MUR! Still searching for links - the pizza was definitely tastier.
Can't find a link for the match. Only for west Brom vs QPR
Great to hear , BD. Nice to know you are cozy at BD HQ while we are here at work.
Glad he played the first leg
I am off gentlemen... sorry I have to leave
TTFN
Not a single FA Cup goal scored this evening, but two matches just kicked off.
Cheers, UWS. Have fun. Glad to hear Becchio polayed the first leg.
Do you have a link for WBA v. QPR - I'm still not getting a sausage!
I stay after to school to tutor to make a few extra Bob or quid or whatever it's called.
There's the ITV link, but it's blocked by the district net cops.
Finally an FA Cup goal. Wigan take the lead at Bournemouth
Mauro Bselli with the Wigan goal
From LUFC.com: "There was a great turn out from the travelling fans on a freezing cold night and they were warmed by a positive start by United. Rudy Austin had a couple of wayward attempts as Leeds enjoyed some good possession.
The boss was forced into making an early change, though, when the injured Adam Drury was replaced by Aidy White. White's first contribution was to deliver a good cross which Varney headed towards goal."
I just checked . It says radio only . No live TV coverage anywhere
Sounds like a promising start for Leeds.
What are your thoughts about that Kompany red card being rescinded?
I don't know why FSC doesn't just show the live feed from Sky Sports News, which would include updates from around the grounds.
I thought it would be rescinded. I think it's a fair decision as Mike Dean got it all wrong.
They are showing the two cuop replays tomorrow. Man United vs West ham will be live followed by Arsenal vs Swansea on tape delay. Also Chelsea plays Sotton in an EPL match; a make up for the tournament in Tokyo
Right - I should be able to get to those around 3pm.
Onyl one Fa Cup ogal and one Johnstone's Paint Trophy goal
Unfortunately, I will be teaching a class. I might be able to chip in with a comment or two, but that's about it.
I see the stats and neither team hjas a shot on targte. Leeds with three off target and Brum with one. Sounds like a cagy affair.
Brentford have taken the lead through Paul Hayes.
Penalty to the Fake Dons - Shaun Williams has converted. 1-0 Fake Dons in their evil match with Not a Big Club.
Brentford take the lead vs Southend in the battle of teams to see who will host Chelsea at the crack of bloody dawn. The Fake Dons take the lead vs Not a Big Club. In League 2, Fawlty Towers takes the lead vs Exeter City in a West Country Derby
Not a Big Club had a shock win at Hull City on Saturday
Crewe have tied it up vs Bradford City in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy and that is the halftime score in that match
Only three FA Cup goals. I rememeber the good old days when goals were guarenteed in FA Cup matches.
We could well see some extra times and penalty shoot-outs this afternoon at this rate.
I will be around for thos because I stay for after scholl tutoring today. A way to make a few extra " Bob."
I have a class starting , so time for a quick trip to the loo and I will try to be around for a few comments in the second half. Cheers mate
A few extra Bob is always welcome, eh?
BUGGGGGERRRRR!
Brum have taken the lead
It's Wade Elliott - who scored against us at Elland Road - who's done the damage again.
From LUFC.com: "The home side had to scramble to clear their lines after a Leeds raid following the first United corner of the game, but Birmingham swiftly hit back, testing Jamie Ashdown for the first time.
And they went in front on 36 minutes then Nathan Redmond created a chance for Elliott who converted from close range.
United almost hit back straight away, but Varney's header went wide of the mark."
Nick Proschwitz has scored for Hull away to the Orient.
We're reaching the interval in the 2:45 pm kickoffs. I'd love to see a goal for us before they go in.
Half-time at St. Andrew's - 1-0 Brum (sigh)
Sorry about that, BD. Hoping for a better second half.
Five 1-0 matches four nil nillers in the cup. Not exactly a goal fest.
Bit of the Leeds United Calypso as we get ready fro the start of the second half.
MOT!
Agreed, MOT!
The second half is underway from St. Andrews. MOT!
Cheers, mate!
Only five goals from nine Cup matches today - very spartan scoring.
In transfer news, it looks as if QPR have poached Loic Remy from underneath Newcastle's nose.
What's your feeling about Fergie swooping for Palace's Wilfred Zaha in the transfer window?
Got to be pretty close to the time that Warnock must be considering some changes. I expect to see Davide Somma before long.
Still no goals in four of the matches tonight. What on earth are Stoke and Sunderland playing at?
It had been in the news , so I was expecting it. I don't expect him to be a regular starter this season. One for the futire. I know Gooner was keen on him going to the EM, so he will be disappointed.
From LUFC.com: "United started the second half in positive fashion, putting Birmingham under some early pressure. Colin Doyle had to get down well to deny Austiin."
Blackpool v. Fulham and WBA v. QPR are into the second half as well now.
Agreed. I don't get it. They can't use the weather as an excuse. They are seasoned pros.
Doesn't look as if there's going to be much biz at the Emirates this month. It looks as if Wenger has turned away from French bad boy Yann M'Villa because of his late night antics.
We or the Hammers play Blackpool or Fulham
Weird evening - we're nearly 60 minutes into the 2:45 kickoffs and still only those five goals. They're really rationing them tonight.
Who would you prefer to play?
The right call by Arsene. Surprised Remy went to QPR. A top flight French International going for a relelagation battle. It must be about the money. Either way great wheelin and dealin by Harry
It doesn't really matter. I think we can easily defeat either team at OT. The tough one is in the Hammers tomorrow night
Do they have to pay to score?
As usual, Michael Brown is getting close to a yellow card.
Bolton have taken the lead away to Sunderland through a penalty from Marvin Sordell.
Bolton take a surprise lead at the SOL while Crewe now lead Bradford in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy with ten minutes remaining
Crewe lead 2-1
Time for some changes, Neil - come on!
Agreed. He needs to get with the programme.
Kenwyne Jones has shot Stoke into the lead against Palace at the Britannia.
Michael Brown goes into the referee's book (sigh)...
Bolton now lead 0-2 at the SOL. Martin must be tanking the cup
Marvin Sordell has added a second goal for Bolton. They're looking fairly comfortable now for a 4th round home fixture against either Everton or Cheltenham.
Southend have tied it up at Brentford. The winners host Chelsea.
Bolton would host Everton.
YESSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!
Ross has leveled it at St. Andrew's!!!!!!
1-1 Game on!
Sam Byram with a cross over to Ross who found the bottom right corner.
CONGRATS. well done. Time to go for the winner.
Only Ross' third goal in an injury-plagued season.
Crewe now lead Bradford 3-1 in stoppage time in Bob's favorite competition.
We've definitely got the momentum now. Varney with a cross over to Green who produces a great save out of Doyle.
Come on, you Whites - finish them off!
The Fake Dons are now 2-0 up - Dean Bowditch with the second goal.
They're cruising toward an away fixture with either WBA or QPR.
The Fake Dons now lead Not a Big Club 2-0 in the evil cup tie. Crewe have defeated Bradford 4-1 in Bob's favorite competition.
Away to QPR would be another evil cup tie.
Now the goals are flying in - Brentford now 2-1 up - Clayton Donaldson with the second goal. The winner plays Chelski at home in the 4th round.
Penalty to Leeds!!!!!!!!
Diouf steps up and scores!!!!!!
1-2!!!!!!
YESSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!
LEEDS NOW LEAD 1-2 AT ST.ANDREWS!
That's six goals for Spitty this season - he's been a more reliable servant for us than I'd predicted. Definitely not a goal machine but useful.
Less than fifteen minutes to hang on - Brum have thrown on Peter Lovenkrands.
Rudy Austin nearly added a third with a drilled shot just left of goal.
Wahay - Wade Elliott has got a yellow card.
Down to ten minutes now plus stoppage time.
Hang in there, you White Beauties!
Dean Cox has leveled it for Leyton Orient against Hull.
Uh oh - the freakishly tall Zigic has been tossed into the action. He is tough to handle.
Orient tie it up vs Brucie's Hull City
Zigic is also rather cumbersome.
Palace have tied it up at the Britannia.
About five minutes left - hang on, boys!
Yes - it's Glenn Murray with a penalty for Palace.
QPR take the lead at the Hwthorns . The winner hosts the Fake Dons.
Oh - brilliant save by Ashdown from Lovenkrands.
Hang on!
He has scored tons of goals for Palace this season. Let's see what happens once Zaha goes to OT
Jay Bothroyd with that QPR goal. They do seem to have improved under Harry. I wonder if they can survive.
Bolton are through to the next round.
Almost into stoppage time at St. Andrew's. Hang on!
Bolton have won 0-2 at the SOL. while Orient vs Hull goes to extra time
The Fake Dons are through to the 4th Round. Not a Big Club have proved again that...well, they're not a big club.
Delfouneso has scored late on for Blackpool against Fulham. Could be an upset on the cards. Could be your 4th round opponents.
Jamie Ashdown gets a yellow for time wasting.
Blow up, ref!
Michael Brown lunges in again and is lucky not to see red. Phew!
Into stoppage time at St. Andrew's now.
YESSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!
We're through to that 4th Round match against Spurs which I shall look forward to watching live a week from Sunday.
Brentford have defeated Southend. A thumping by Chelski is next for them.
Stoke and Palace and Orient and Hull have gone to Extra Time.
Very relieved by that win, as Brum had had our number for the past two seasons.
Wigan have eked out a 0-1 win over Bournemouth then. They're through to the 4th round against Macclesfield. What a rubbish fixture!
Jon Walters is having a better evening today. He's scored what may be a winner for Stoke in the 95th minute.
Crikey - Kieran Richardson has fired in an equalizer in the 94th minute to send that one into extra time.
QPR are through to a 4th round tie with the Fake Dons.
Congrats , BD. Looking forward to seeing Leeds play at Spurs. It should be a cracking cup tie.
Orient vs Hull is tied 1-1 in extra time as is Blackpool vs Fulham . The winner of that one is away to Man United or the Hammers. Stoke lead Palalce 2-1 and could be hosting Citeh in a rematch of the 2011 final.
Stoke now lead Palalce 3-1 as Jon Wlaters has a brace , cancelling out the two OGS he scored Saturday vs Chelsea.
Hull City now lead 1-2 at Orient with about two minutes remaining of extra time
Cheers, mate - Stoke are surely through now. Walters with a brace tonight to make up for his 'mare at the weekend.
Tom Cairney has scored for Hull deep into extra time. They're close to a 4th round tie against Barnsley.
Hull are indeed through now.
Camerone Jerome scorerd in stoppage time of extra time as Stoke handily defeated Palace 4-1. Stoke host Citeh in a repeat of the 2011 final.
Brede Hangeland has scopred what appears to be a late winner at Blackppol and face a possible trip to OT.
Fulham could fae a trip to OT thanks to a stoppage time equalizer by former United player, Kieran Richardson.
That Hangeland goal has given Fulham a 1-2 victory at BVlackpool and the Cotthagres will travel to OT or Upton Park in the 4th Round. No penalty shootouts tonight
Hangeland has scored late on and Fulham are through to a hiding to nothing in the 4th Round at OT.
Well, that's the end of a satisfying evening for me. Enjoyed it thoroughly. Thanks for hanging in there with me, MUR. Hope to chat a bit with you tomorrow. Cheerio!
Cheers mate.It was a pleasure chatting with you. Looking forward to chatting tomorrow.
Congrats Mate.... Bring on SPURS!!
