Lakenheath Old Boys
We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

They're off from Loftus Road.
The main talking is if this is Ryan Nelsen's last match. He has just been named as the new manager of Toronto, replacing Paul Mariner.Harr says Nelsen stays until he finds a replacement
Sandro had a shot easily saved by Julio Cesar after being st up by Bale. Lee Perobert stopped play to check the ball and says it's okay
OH! Dafoe hit the post from long range, then Cesar saved the rebound from Ade, but he should have scored.
Then a back flick fromBale off the corner straight to Cesar
QPR fans boo as LUFC Academy dives in the box and gets away without a booking
Bale with an audacious volley from the left wing with the outside of his boot, but it was wide.
Taarabt with a cross straight to Lloris
SWP was supernl;y put thrpugh by Taarabt and turned Sandro, but his shot was deflected wide by Dawson when it was easier to score. Corner QPR, then they win anohter
SWP shoots well wide after some head tennis in the box from the corner taken by Taarabt
kieron Dyer ,who scored a last minute qualizer in the FA Cup last Saturday, was released this week.
Morning MUR. Sorry for my late arrival
Still tired from taking Tom to orientation and back
No picture on the post?
BORING!
Great tackle by Dawson on MBia, who was put through
Dawson is the skipper? I thought he was going to be out the door
Good morning, UWS, was that Cortland State? No picture due to techinical difficulties. Sorry about that.
http://www.thefirstrow.eu/watch/162833/1/watch-soccer-saturday.html
Soccer Saturday link
He has had a decent match today. Kieron Dyer was given a pink slip this week by QPR as a reward for scoring a last minute equalizer in the FA Cup
Cheers, UWS. Thanks for the link.
Bob must have been up late celebrating his birthday. I feel asleep in the armchair early in the evening watching telly
Sandro off injured and replaced by Scotty Parker. Basically like for like
Yes, it was Cortland State.
Both Kathy and I went there. Very strange going back there after 30 years. It has changed but stayed the same
It looked like Spurs were all over them at the beginning when Ball Hog had a nice shot well saved and Ade should have netted the rebound
It was the same at UCF. It looked the same, but they have expanded quite a bit too. They must have expanded at Cortland.
DId you see that Rooney may return to the line up tomorrow morning.
Maybe he wasn't hurt at all. Maybe he was on a diet and having some sense knocked into him
Those was their best opportunities. Since then QPR have come into the match and been the slighty better team
I thought he was out . I didn't think he looked any heavier than in any in other season.Perhaps it was a boot in the eye from Fergie
I ould like to see RVP and Chicha start up front vs Liverpool tomorrow
QPR just showed what happens when you play without a true striker. No cuttig edge up front and a promising possession comes to nothing
QPR doing pretty well against Chelsea and Spurs so far
Bale and Defoe are both real ball hogs
It's the crazy season in Texas or is that always the case? The Commissioner of Education wants the legislature to pass a bill giving teachers the right to carry a hand gun to school providing the teacher is trained and certified to carry a hand gun. It would be left up to each individual district. I am opring out as that is not how I teach. Your thoughts, UWS?
Agreed, UWS. QPR ddid well vs Chelsea and a decent showing so far. Bale and Dafoe are definitely ball hogs. Bale is a diver too.
I would hate it!!!
I would never do that
Terrible idea
Bob must have had some long birthday night last night
Well stated, UWS.It's supposed to be used only in an emergency which is what? I already told Elizabeth I would not.The NRA has a strong influence in Texas.
Terrible free kick.. you're a professional... beat the first man!
Dembele booked for a foul on Mackie just outside the box and the free kick is pathetic.
I think Bob must have had an exciting birthday party.
Former Pompey manager , Steve Cotterill is on the QPR coaching staff. More reason for UWS to hate QPR
I don't hate QPR as much as others do
I thought you would with Harry in charge after they way he left Pompey. Woy in attendance.
Having Park as the grafter has really helped QPR
A bit naughty by Mbia on Scotty. Beam him up!
SS link is showing lots of clips of United Liverpool with a song saying "WHY CAN'T WE BE FRIENDS?"
Classic
Mbia with a pathetic pass.
WILL NEVER HAPPEN.LOL!
Nice run by SWP... useless shot
Three minutes of stoppage time. Pathetic finish by SWP
This was supposed to be the Monday night match, but was changed because QPR have an FA Cup replay on Tuesday
I agree with Clint Hill's remarks.
I just noticed that.
Well spotted
Halftime and 0-0 from Loftus Road.
half time
nil niller!
Ta, UWS. Time for a bagel with cream cheese.
No early match next Saturday?
The second half is underway from Loftus Road
Dafoe wins a free kick just outside the box. Foul by the new Toronto manager.
Bale right at Cesar, who fumbles then catches the free kick
Scotty , back from a far outy Galaxy, is just over with a decent long range effort.
I am back... missed nowt
United have Spurs next week
Tough couple of games for United. I hope we can keep our lead
Lennon went down easily and won a free kick. Really soft.
I agree, UWS. Correct. You missed nowt.
ooh, just over by Walker!
That was very close
Nice free kick by Kyle Walker that was over by inches. Julio Cesar was rooted to the spot.
Defoe with a shot.. deflected...saved
A deflcted shot by Dafoe and a kick save by Cesar out for a corner. Julius Cesar catches the corner
Spurs turning the screw
Jeff Stelling just stole my line just as I typed it
I agree that we have two tough matches ahead with what is eassentially a local derby vs Liverpool and a tough match at WHL. There is alsao the small matter of an FA Cup replay vs the Hammers on Wednesday
One for the blooper reel. Steve Cotterill sent off for not being on the QQR coaching list. Poor by QPR and by the officials for taking so long to spot it.
Did they show that? I missed it
Great break by Scotty parkwer and a great tackle by Nelsen on Lennon
They didn't show it, but Ian mentioned it.Hope Cotterill didn't pick up that bad habit at Pompey.
Pompey and Notts County's match has been postponed
That possession stat is meaningless in this match
Waterlogged pitch?
Dawson heads well over from a corner. That looks like something I would have done duing my AYA days.
QPR strikers, Cisse and DJ Campbell ,are warmming up.
Dunno
I know it has turned very cold
My bruv said that snow is expected everywhere... except Worlington!!
Dj was recalled from a loan spell at Ipswich. That uis a huge loss for the Tractor Boyz
That is what I remember from my time in England.Great info from Tony.
Now Mbia is hobbling about. Do they have another destroyer to come on for him?
Get it over Taarabt
Wolves vs Blackburn finished 1-1 yesterday. Does it matter?
Did you see the bloke that left Pompey for Blackpool has now left Blackpool for Blackburn?
Shoot with your left ADEBAYOR!!
Ade heads straight to Juliu Cear from a corner that he won off of Nelsen, but where he took too long to shoot.
Clint on for Ade.
I did not. Who was that bloke?
Mbia booked for intentional hand ball.
This point would take the Rs off the foot of the table
4 out 6 points in two derbies against Chelsea and Spurs would be very satisfactory for Arry
Another derby coming up... at Upton Park
I just checked the schedule and the weather must not be too severe. Every EPL and Championship match is on. The match at Fratton Park is the only League 1 match postponed. Rather odd.Every League 2 match is on.
Harry would have bit off our left arms for those results. I expect he will want all three vs his beloved Hammers.
O'Shea back for Sunderland. I thought he really hurt himself a week or so ago
Veryone in my house is an RVW this morning, including the pets
He hobbled off, but is a key figure in Sunderland's improved form
Norwich Newcastle is on FSC at 10
Fabio nicely set up by Taarabt. but Mackie was not in position to connect from his cross.
Everton vs Swansea on FSC +. No late match?
BREAKING TEAM NEWS
Demba Ba, Frank Lampard and Petr Cech all start for Chelsea at Stoke this afternoon.
The only lae match I see is Hull City vs Not a Big Club.
Torres to do a Bob and sulk on the bench?
THis is about the time SWP stepped up for the winner at the Bridge
BTW, Fratton Park is waterlogged
I thought It was a fiar tackle on Kyle Naughton by Taarabt.
GET INVOLVED
Mr Boy on Twitter: "Hey Marc, there are rumours that David Luiz has cut off his famous locks. Surely that must be the biggest story of the day?!"
Wow, that would be hair-raising news indeed. I'll keep you posted.
SWP almost had a break... nice clearance from Lloris
Lloris does well to come oiut with a timely tackle as SWP was through.Lloris must have read your post
BOOM BOOM, UWS! What a side show!
I figured that is why the match at Fratton Park was postponed.
Lennon coming off for Siggy
Sigurdsson on for LUFC Academy.
Morning, lads - I'm the RVW today. For some reason, I didn't think there was an early match today. My mistake. It looks, however, as if I've missed 80 minutes of scoreless Premiership football.
10 to go
I saw Bradford City vs Villa on BEIN. Villa were absolutely pathetic. Bob will be pleased to hear that Barry Bloody Bannon received lots of stick from the Bradford fans
Good morning Bob. How was your birthday? Both teams have had chances to score.
Clint fouled by Mackie jsut outside the box.
Welcome ex birthday boy!
Had a good day?
FORTY-NINE YEARS OLD.. BLOODY HELL!!!
I'll be there soon
Had a really good late evening and a lovely lie-in this morning. Cheers, lads!
Pathetic free kick by Bale.
Matt told me that some bloke named Barkley has gone to Elland Road on loan from Goodison Park
Harry about to introduce Cisse into the mix - why?
Me too. We're gaining experience.
Oh - good stuff from SWP right up until the last moment in the box - fell over.
QPR almost in
Nice work from SWP but messed up at the end
Lloris seems to have taken down Cisse.. I dont think he is that hurt
Correct, UWS. Ross Barkley is on loan at ER from weverton for the remainder of the season. Kieran Dyer was relased by Harry this week. Would Bob take him at ER?
The Gooner will be loving this - it will give Chelski, Everton and the Arse a chance to gain some points on Spurs.
Told you... he's up
Yeah - I'm quite happy about that Ross Barkley move. Don't know about Kieran Dyer - he seems a bit passed it.
Also, DJ Campbell, recalled from a looan spell at Ipswich is another option. I think Harry is content with a 0-0 draw.
Gooner hates Spuds and with QPR is not a fan of Happy Harry. He must hate both teams.
No doubt - but strategically it makes sense to be a QPR fan today.
SWP didn't celebrate much when he scored against Chelsea. Why would he have much allegiance for the Blues. He was a Citeh player, went to Chelsea and then back to Citeh
Horrible throw from Lloris to Shaun Hi Ho the Derrio the Farmer in the Dell
Shame there are no goals for the ESPN audience
Bloody hell - it's 51F outside - what happened to winter!?
I gues it was due to the fact that it was a local derby and he was told not to start up anything with the Chelsea fans. Just a guess.
It was all rain yesterday in Corltand
Two minutes of stoppage time for Spurs to dig this one out.
only 2 added minutes
How was the trip to Cortland - was Tom happy with it?
Defoe shoots... of course
It warmed up here too. it was 80 yesterday and the morning low this morning was in the low 70s, typical in May, not January
He was. It was strange being there again. Things were the same but all different!
He did struggle getting a schedule. Most of the course were closed of course
We were woken up at 1 Am Thursday morning by a loud thunderstorm. It really scared Sparky.
This will lift QPR off the bottom of the table temporarily above Reading on 14 points.
That's it!
4 out 6 points from Chelsea and Spurs
Not back for the Rs
Does he start this spring on in the fall at Cortland?
it finishes 0-0 at Loftus Road. A better result for QPR than Spurs and as BD stated, we should be happy that Spurs did not win
Do we have a link for SS yet?
So did Tom eventually get a schedule I hope everything worked out.
Found it - cheers, mate!
I don't think there is a late EPL match. The late one is Hull City vs Not a Big Club.
Will the last undefeated home record in the Premier League fall today?
Bloody well hope not!
Chelsea are the visitors
He did get a schedule that is okay
He said it was one of the most stressful time of his life making the schedule. There were a lot of kids at computers and only two advisors.
I heard a lot of kids come back before Tom and say exactly the same thing
We went to see his coach as well. He will be doing a lot of stuff with the team. A lot of Spring soccer.. we never had that
I am off to shave and shower.
I'll be back just after kick off
Next up, we've got Norwich v. Newcastle on FSC. Of course, I'll be focused on my boys playing away to bottom club Barnsley. We need three points today.
Can't get the SS link to load I am trying on the ancient lappy.
Sorry it was a dificult experience for Tom. Glad everythig eventually worked out.Definitely a must win for Leeds.
Not loading on the lappy either. Not a happy chappy.
They're off from SJP and Goodison
And we're off on another Saturday afternoon of English domestic footie - come on, you Whites!
Hair Bear straight at Worm
We start in 8th, two points out of the playoffs today - hoping for better than that by the end of the day.
Worm well out of his box and fortunately blocks from Anichebe
Agreed Bob. MOT! Grant Holt on th bench. A surprise.
Brighton take the lead vs Young Cloughie
No SS link for Yours Truly today. Not happy.
Sorry, mate - we'll try to keep you up to date.
Free kick for Norwich at Carrow Road . The free kick from Snoddy is easily headed out by Jonas.
Brighton have taken an early lead at home to Derby through Barnes.
Ta, BD. I have soccernet, but it's usually a few minutes late. I will look forward to your updates.
Chris Hughton will want a win vs the club that unfairly sacked him
UWs mentioned that Pompey vs Notts County was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch
Absolutely - and given their relative form recently, I fancy the Canaries today.
Nealry 1-0as jel;avbic mishiot from close range and volleyed wide from ahopeful long ball. Ben Davies was caught ball watching
Elizabeth , the girls , and the pets told me to wish you a Happy Birthday
Thanks, MUR - I really appreciate it.
Jelavic flagged offside as Evil Millwall take the lead at Bolton
Millwall are 0-1 up at Bolton.
No probs mate. I will try to post some reunion pics on FB as soon as possible if this dodgy computer permits.
Sebbi Larsson has scored for Sunderland - sounds like a 25 yard screamer.
The Foxes take the lead at struggling Bristol City and Sunderland of all teams score the first EPL ghoal of the day as the take the lead vs the Hammers
Gooner will not be pleased as that's one for the Asenal FC Academy Factor.
Seamus Coleman wins a corner off of Ben Davies
Leicester are 0-1 up at Bristol City now through Chris Wood.
Jelavic had a header cleared off the line from the resulting corner.
Wasn't he at Millwall the first half of the season?
Yeah - I think the Gooner views Larsson as one that got away.
Not sure, MUR.
I am back squeaky clean
I also did some sheet changing too
What did I miss?
it was Taindalle who cleared off the line from Jelavic. Donny take the lead vs Bury in their first match without Dean Saunders
welcome back, UWs. Sunderland took the lead vs West Ham
My SS link is working perfectly all morning!
http://www.thefirstrow.eu/watch/162833/1/watch-soccer-saturday.html
Leicester two up at Ashton Gate
Plymouth are two up at Home Park too
Del Bosque in attendance at Goodison Park scouting Swansea's four Spanish players
Goal at Reading... to West Brom
Big goal in the Reading v. WBA match - it's for WBA. The Chunk. His 8th of the season.
