Morning, chaps - I couldn't be more excited. Enjoying myself thoroughly at the Harlingen reunion. Bring on the FA Cup action.
Good morning BD and Gooner. How are you doing? We start with Brighton vs Newcastle . These teams met in the 4th Round last year when the Seragulls won surprisingly 1-0 thanks to an OG. The Toon sure have been on the end of some cup upsets. Will they exact revenge on Gus's lads?
Bad news out of the LUFC camp this morning, unfortunately. A nasty virus has swept through the camp claiming six or seven starters and Evil Neil himself. It will be interesting to see what combination of tea ladies Neil sticks out against Brum today.
Will the Toon be fishing for a cup victory. They've been waiting to lift the FA Cup longer than I've been waiting for me bloody fish!
Nice one, BD. I'm the coffe m,an this morning. It 's like getting out of the wayof the bloody ocelots! BEWARE OF THEM!
Indeed - where is that fish? You must be sick as an ocelot, MUR.
The Toon in maroon! UWs will not be pleased . I forgot he's an RVW on Cup Saturday of all Saturdays.
I'm starting a slow handclap for UWS - missing in action so far this FA Cup morning.
Nice one, BD. Gus Poyet, the former ER assistant and BD favorite, is the Seagulls manager
They're off from the AMEX Stadium.
COME ON YOU SEAGULLS!
Looks just like Harlingen on the South Coast
Craig Mackail Smith won an early corner. Birghton took it short and they shot well over. A quick start for the Seagulls.
CAsper Ankergren, the former LUFC keeper and backup to Kruz, the former Man Yopo keeper, with a long clearance.
Oh - Briggs nearly got in at the backpost there.
Trouble in the Newcastle box and offside called as a Seagull shot was blocked.
That's a low blow, reminding me of Kasper Ankergren's LUFC career, MUR. A low blow.
Brighton have started the better team
Brighton have had the more impressive start.
Didn't he help you get promoted from League One? I thought he did a good job.
Over-ran with a deflected shot that nearly fooled the hapless Ankergren.
Overran with a long range chip deflected straight to Kasper
Naughty from BD.
More clownish defending in the Newcastle area.
James Perch headed off the line from a cross by Lopez that was headed back
I am naughty, MUR - call me "The Sexy Assassin."
Mackail-Smith goes down easily in he box. Never a pen.
I agree about the clownish defending from the Toon, but not the sexy assassin. That title is reserved for SAF
Gooner is enjoying the sexy early morning football...and the coffee, MUR.
The Toon have been less limber than UWS this morning
Great to hear. Do I make better coffee than Elizabeth. Great to hear that it is great FA Cup coffee.
As you're the host, I'll lean toward you, MUR.
Oh - a rocket there. Well saved by whoever the hell is in goal for the Toon.
Jacquelyn is a tropper, waking up early for the Third Round as the young Toon keeper easily catches a cross.
Well done, Jacquelyn - she's an honorary member of the LOB this morning.
Brighton cough up the ball poorly in the middle of the park and Shola Ameobi rocketed one at Kasper.
Ta, BD. Overran lived p to his name as hew weent on a gret run and put in a poor cross. Kasper pushed out a long range effort from one of the Ameobi bruvs then El Abd headed out for a corner.
The corner as headed out as Jacquelyn went back fo some extra kip
The Ameobi brothers are up front together as the Toon are playing a reserve team . Poor by Prsew not to take the cup seriously and Jacquelyn is back for more cup action.
It's great to see the bruvvers playing together.
Naughty from Shola off the Toon free kick
Newcastle front line starting to combine well.
The Toon are tarting to enjoy more possession
UWS, UWS - can you read us on the blog? CAN YOU READ US ON THE BLOG!
WHERE ARE YOU ? WHERE YOU ,UWS?
Where have you gone, Gus Poyet? A lonely Northern club turn its eyes.
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!
ORKLANDI HEADS BRIGHTON INTO THE LEAD.
GOAL! Brighton take the lead through Orlandi - lovely goal there.
1-0 Seagulls!
Excellent finish there by Orlandi but Wayne Bridge deserves a lot of credit for digging that cross out when it looked as if it was going to go out. The hosts are one up and deservedly so.
It started with a long diagonal from the back by Gordon Greer to Wyane and he crossed for Orlandi , who scored with an audacious flick
We are having Bangors and HP for lunch.
RATHER SAUCY!
To be honest, the Seagulls deserve the lead over a flat Newcastle reserve team
Rather, MUR. I have to admit though, that WHR's intervention on the banger front is tipping my loyalties toward the Irons this afternoon.
The lower league Seagulls have had 57% of the possession. That backs up my statement that the Toon have not really showed up and their fans have made the long journey for basically nothing
Naughty , BD. I will be cooking them, so that will tip the scale in my favor.
Gooner is commenting that he'd love to see Pardew's pampered poodles knocked out at this early stage.
You have to come to Harlingen to enjoy the Bangors!
Nasty one there from Abeid - studs up. Yellow card.
I told you that I'm naughty this morning, MUR. That's a given today.
Well sated, BD. I agree with you and the Gooner about the Pampered Poodles. Young Toon midfielder, Mehdi Abeid , is deservedly booked for a late , rash tackle.
Oh - a real chance there from the free kick. A true defender's effort from Al Habd.
Nice run up front from El Abd, but he could not connect
One minute of stoppage time. Payments must be made on your American Express Card.
Overran wiht another shocking cross.
Halftime and the Seagulls deservedly lead the Toon Reserves 1-0
I reckon that Brighton have got extra points on their Amex card this morning. Great first half performance from the home side. 1-0.
Brighton with 63% of the first half possession. If that doesn't tell you that Newcastle isn't tanking the match then I don't know what does.
Disgraceful from Pardew putting the B side for the 3rd Round of the Cup today.
Two Newcastle changes as Nile Ranger and Paul Dummett come on.
The second half is underway from the AMEX Stadium as we are all chomping down on the official LOB grub.
Dummett came on for the injured Perch and I guess Nile Ranger came on for Sammy Ameobi. Shola Ameobi booked for a foul
Bagel and coffee dispatched. Loving it here in Harlingen.
Actually,Ranger came on for Mehdi Abeid as Alan Parsew is going with three forwards. Ranger up front with the Ameobi bruvs
Cheers , Dahlgrens!
All credit to WHR; all blame to an absent UWS this morning. I'm blowing bubbles for the Hammers this afternoon.
Orlandi, the scorer, shot just over from long range.
SNOSAUGES!
Brighton look good for this - I'm not sure that Pardew's changes will be able to make the difference.
Hopeless free kick routine from the Toon - they look abject this afternoon - and it's all down to Pardew.
Nile Ranger vollyed well over as Sammy Ameobi headed down a long free kic. The Lone Ranger and Tonto would have done better
Absolutely , BD. It's 1-0 as it was in the Fourth Round last year
Here's the link for Soccer Saturday:
http://www.thefirstrow.eu/watch/161835/1/watch-soccer-saturday.html
A shocking performance from UWS. Worse than this horrible Toon reserve team.
Cheers, BD.Poor corsss from Orlandi, the goal scorer and former Swan
Agreed, MUR - UWS should get the hairdryer from Fergie this morning.
Morning, lads. Surely, BD, the delivery of the bangers will outweigh the cooking of the bangers, in the battle for you loyalties today!
Brighton looking like Barca against a supposed EPL team
Brighton knocking it about Total Football style now. Making the Premiership side look like chumps.
Morning, WHR - I'll blowing bubbles for you lot today, courtesy of the banger delivery. Excellent form from you, mate!
Orlandi the scorer , is replaced by Kazenga Lua Lua, the former Magpie, as he receives a deserved ovation.
So what time is the West Ham / Man United kick-off? Will have some errands to run in the morning and won't want to miss the festivities.
It's at 12:15 pm EST, mate. I hope you'll join us here for that one. Should be some cracking action on the blog.
Good morning, WHR. Ta very much for the Bangors and HP. It is really appreciated. They came in nice and cold. I will still be cheering for my beloved Red Devils.
Well, well, well. Shola Ameobi has been shown a second yellow and he's off - Newcastle are down to ten men!
It gets worse for the Toon as Shola Ameobi gets a secopnd yellow and is off for a nasty challenge. Poor by Pardew as he seems to congratulate Shola for that
Poor form from Pardew patting Shola on the back as he trooped off.
It's poor by Shola as it was a shocking foul on David Lopez.
The Seagulls should be able to ride this one out now against the ten men.
Morning Boys
I am finally here... a lot of running around
I have the Brighton Newcastle link going strong and then will change over to SS
How's everything in TEXAS.... THE BIG ONE
WHat I have seen it has been all Seagulls!
Morning, mate - how was the lie in this morning?
I'll definitely be joining you for the big match at 12:15 . . . . will have Cal in tow . . . not sure where his loyalties will reside. I thought I had him converted with the trip to Upton Park in the spring, but he backslides when Man United are playing well.
Good morning, UWS. Absolutely correct about the Seagulls. Going great in Texas.
The Toon down to ten?
Newcastle fans will have to wait another year for a trophy!
Will they survive relegation??
That's shocking disloyalty from Cal. Hope you can convert him today, mate.
What a smart kid that Cal is!!!
overran is off and replaced by Marvellous Marveaux. Mackail-Smith was subbed too.
I'm forever BURSTING bubbles
Agrred about Cal. The Toon will survive because there are enough poor teams below them. The late match is on the regular Fox,
Well, Pardew has put out a B team for the Toon today. A terrible decision given that all they've got left for the season is the Europa League knockout stages and the relegation stages.
Same here, UWS.
UWS posting at 8:57 is revealing . . . he capitalizes both the W and H in "What" . . . Huge Freudian slip there. . . I think he is secretly pulling for West Ham today!
Absolutely, BD.
I like how Bob opened this thread saying how excited he was about the FA Cup
I wish the managers, players and fans would be that excited!
Why does a team, like Newcastle, who don't have a chance of winning the league go for a TROPHY!!
Marveaux has a shot deflected for a Toon corner off a long free kick. Williamson heads down the long free kick and Ranger heads over from close range. the best Toon possession of the match
You've got me sussed WHR!!!
Agreed, UWS. I don't get it. Unfortunately Leeds may have a B team out today because a vicious virus has swept through the camp. Even Warnock has been too sick for training!
Balotelli does NOT start for Citeh today
Jerko and Shrek start up front
Agreed, UWs. They've been waiting for a trophy longer than I've been waiting for my fish
Newcastle getting some chances
I did read your comment about the ER virus from earlier
Balo does not normally start anyway . Signs of life from the Toon asd Kasper had to punch away under pressure.
I think you may be right, mate. If you had sent him some bangers as well, I reckon that even UWS might be wearing claret and blue today.
Naughty from UWS. No encouragement for the Irons.
RATHER SHOCKING!
I like the quote from the commentator
A bit of ooomph from the Newcastle team
I thought Rooney was Shrek and Tev was The Hulk, UWS, no?
It sure seems that way, BD. He sure is well rested.
True, BD. Humorous , but true.
The Toon's best chance was that near OG by Gordon Greer.
Encouragement for the Claret and Blue?
NO!!!
United haven't won the Cup since 2004... it's about time they get their hands on it again!!
Newcastle just about starting to turn the screw a bit.
BD mentioning something about UWS, choops, and Bangors. what does that mean?
Tev looks like Shrek as well!
We haven't won it since 1972! Definitely time for some white ribbons on the Cup!
Will Hoskins came on for Mackail-Smith earlier. Agreed, UIWS. About Bleedin' time United won the Cup.
Where are you all located in MUR Central?
Wayne Bridge has a shot deflect off of Tavernier for a corner off a long Seagull possession
Under ten minutes now - time to corner flag it.
Haven't won it since 1972???
ONLY won it in 1972!!!
Correct, UWS. That is where we are located.
We're all huddled in their living room, joined by Sparky the dog and Fred the cat this morning. Younger daughter Jacquelyn also making a cameo appearance.
Andrew Crofts, signed from Norwich, on for Dean Hammond.
Well...that is true. Naughty for mentioning that, UWS.
I'm forever blowing bubbles....pretty bubbles in the air!
A better chance of me getting my fish soon and spotting an ocelot than LUFC winning the cup any time soon.
David, I was doodling the other day and was writing a list of League and Cup wins
United have won 19 Championships and only 11 Cups.... the most of any team in the country for both competitions by the way!
What year was the last time that they had won the same amount of both?
They have NEVER had more FA Cup wins then league league win
Just wide by Kazenga against his former club.
Wish I was there
GAME OVER!!!
Newcastle have been dumped out of the Cup!
2-0
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!! 2-0 SEAGULLLS AS WILL HOSKINS OFF THE BENCH SCORES WITH A GREAT FINISH
GOAL! That's turn it - Hoskins with the killer goal.
2-0!
Nuts, whole hazelnuts - between the keeper's legs.
What does WHR think of Joe Cole's return and the loanee Chamakh from the Em?
Nice assist from Lopez and poor defending from Williamson, who scored the OG that eliminated the Toon at this stadium last year
Back to the drawing board, Alan.
Not sure. Thiose signings caught me and the Dahlgrens by surprise.
Great quiz question, UWS. I will need to think about it.
I like the way yopu mentioned it was LUFC"S only cup win. Nice form, UWS.
Three minurtes of srtoppage time. Nice save by Kasper from Ranger
With Joe Cole going back to Upton Park,
who do think is the best example of a player coming back to a former club and being a huge success?
Mark Hughes left United for Barac and when he returned ,via Bayern, he was a huge success!
Anyone else?
Rush struggled in Italy and had a bit of success back at Anfield
I was surprised. Also surprised that the new ownership team at Leeds hasn't dipped into the market yet. All we've done so far is loan Paddy Kisnorbo out to Ipswich. But perhaps they've got the trots as well this week.
Wish you were here too. We would have you chacing Ocelots and Javelinas. You could take Sparky for walks too.
UWS is an expert dogwalker, for sure, MUR.
TH14's short return to the Em?
Joe Cole will not do as well on his return to the Irons.
We've even had the Lakenheath weather the entire reunion.
Well done, the Seagulls. I really wish Gus Poyet was still at Elland Road - he's quality.
That's it as the Seagulls win 2-0. They have eliminated the Toon from the Cup for the second consecutive year
The link I have on the computer is from ITV
Wonder if there is another game on after?
Last time Brighton went to Wembley was in 1983... they lost to United... they beat Newcastle in the 3rd round!
They just did it again!
Brighton are the first team into the pot for the 4th Round draw.
They eliminated Liverpool ion consecutive seasons as well; in 1983 and 1984. It was 2-0 the second time as well.
Got a nice SS link going strong
http://www.thefirstrow.eu/watch/161835/1/watch-soccer-saturday.html
What's for breakfast?
Later on in the Cup, SS seem to ignore the competition when they have their panel watching Championship games... WHY?
It's the media's fault too!
I don't want to hear it was United's fault because they went to the World Football tourrney and didn't play in the CUp in 2000
I'm on the same link. We've had bagels and coffee for breakfast. I'm now enjoying a grapefruit fresh off the Goldstein family grapefruit tree. Magic!
Bangers for lunch - are you jealous, UWS?
Sounds like the FA Cup Final will be on Fox Sports
VERY
Demba Ba starts for Chelsea at St. Mary's
Wish you were here. We would like to skype you today, UWS. Are up for it?
Repeat of the 87 Cup Final today as Spurs take on Coventry
I REALLY hope Chelsea don't make the Cup Final again!!!
Why was Ba so cheap?
East Anglian derby between Peterborough and Norwich
Can this Fergie get revenge for the Canaries beating his dad in the league?
I picked Chelsea for the Cup onm the PPP. Not sure what to say. Not sure why Ba went on the cheap.
Not sure. Peterboro are hosting the club they sponsor
Bob said we should skype you after the match at Upton Park. Your thoughts. You can watch us eating Bangors and HP.

The panel mentioning what we have mentioned about teams not taking the cup seriously. I agree that we cannot blame United.

Poor form from Bob wearing the LUFC blankie and singing MOT. I was singing Glory Glory Man United and I'm Forever Bursting Bubbles.
Come on Hastings... let's have a BATTLE from you at the Riverside
Struth... Chelsea have a changed strip.. BLUE DOESN'T CLASH WITH RED!!!!
I agree, UWS.The cup needs to be played instead of the two week break
Enjoying a delicious grapefruit fresh off the Goldstein tree now. Lovely jubbly.
Agreed, UWS. Chelsea is just trying to sell more away kits.
How about a SKYPE today, UWS?
Hope you like the grapefruit, Bob. Better than the Leeds blankie.
Sure
