Lakenheath Old Boys
We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Welcome, boys - I'm over at the office which is my only access to the Internet or cable telly now. We're looking in on Salt Lake City today.
It's a similar side to the one that started against Belize the other night, with Gooch as skipper.
The US in the trademark Where's Waldo kit about to kick off now.
Lots of Real Salt Lake alums in this side today, including keeper Rimando, defender Beltran and Kyle Beckermann in the middle of the midfield.
A wayward, very hopeful shot from the Cuban skipper there. Rimando not really bothered.
A quick check on how the Gold Cup is shaping up after two matches. In Group A, Panama top the group after two wins in two, Mexico grabbed a 2-0 win over Canada and now edge out Martinique for second.
In Group B, Honduras top the group after two wins in two, Haiti surprisingly are in second, El Salvador in third and my buddy Shazam will not be happy to see his beloved T&T in last place.
Landycakes wastes a good free kick chance. Not a lot of invention from the US so far.
Landycakes wins the first corner. Some height advantage for the US.
I really liked the way that Orozco was running around the back-post the other night on set pieces.
Oh - Corona misses a decent chance with a glancing header.
Brek Shea has switched sides a couple of times but still hasn't made much effect.
Gooner was mentioning on the phone that it's a distressing trend to have this CONCACAF official debating the reffing during the match. I agree.
Landycakes has another free kick oppo to swing in here from the right side. Great chance.
That was a better one toward Orozco - knocked out for a corner.
Hercules Gomez chasing about but to little effect. He's better off the bench in my estimation.
The awful truth is that only Landycakes and Holden have a chance of starting in Brazil next summer and only probably Orozco, Beckermann and Gomez have a chance of sneaking into the squad. Not sure that the likes of Shea, Corona and Castillo are worth a plane ticket.
Shea is having a shocker and Waldo is expressing some refreshing honestly about it. He'll be missed on the NBC broadcasts.
Half an hour in and we're still looking for our first goal.
Some confusion between Gomez and Corona - that should have been the first goal.
GOAL! Cuba shock the Salt Lake City crowd with a super goal!
Martinez really roasted the left back Castillo and then pulled a great ball back for Cipriani who beat Rimando with a half volley. Great effort!
0-1!
That goal really upsets the apple cart in Group C. A Cuba win today, as improbably as that might sound, would put three sides on a win or three points.
Cuba are on a high. Martinez again made a killer run but this time Valencia skies his effort. Castillo again found Martinez too hot to handle.
Shea wins another US corner. They have to make one of these count.
Cuba now just trying to hang on to their precious lead until half time in a few minutes.
Oh - Castillo sent a lovely cross over but somehow Landycakes contrived to mistime his header.
Some changes needed by Jurgen at half-time for sure.
Landycakes has it in the net but he's ruled offside. Good call.
Penalty to the US!!!!!!
Cubans arguing their case, but it seemed right on. Nice one-two by Landy and Castillo.
Third penalty chance for Landy in the past three matches.
Lady doing his thing....
And scores! 1-1!
Landy's 53rd goal.
Great time to equalize too, right before half time.
Ouch! Two-footed on Brek Shea and the ref has a decision to make. He's blown up for half-time. Gutless - should have been a red. That's two shocking tackles in the last two matches on US players without much punishment.
We're back on for the second half, then. Despite the late equalizer, it has not been a good performance. We're hoping for much better in this second half.
More inane comments about the officiating from Joe Machnik.
Martinez burst through the middle there and was finally stopped by Gooch.
Landy earns a cheap one out wide left. Good service this time, Landy.
GOAL! Corona scores the goal that lets the US take the lead for the first time in this match!
Corona's first goal is a peach - when it came loose at the top of the box, he swept it in with aplomb.
2-1 US!
Jurgen responds to that goal with two positive substitutions - Diskerud for Holden and Wondo for Gomez.
Ciprian dives in the box - ref wisely waves on. Good tackle by Castillo.
GOAL! Wondo again! He's on fire now. Five goals in three matches, and he's surely booking his flight to Brazil now.
You can't say that Wondo has great technical ability but he has a nose for goal. Beckermann merely had to knock the ball into the right area and Wondo did the rest with his run and finish.
3-1!
This one's done and dusted in the 85th minute and 3-1 up, so I'm going to pedal home and get some dinner.
