Snowbound Football Weekend
Greetings from the winter wonderland that is Fred-town. I'm bunkering in this morning with one of the tastiest propositions on the Premiership schedule - Manchester City v. table-toppers Arsenal. Both of them like to play a bit, and let's hope that they go out to do that today. At 10 am EST, we've got the usual 3pm kickoff; I'll have my eye on the Yorkshire Derby between Donny and my beloved Whites. Join me for all the fun!

Morning Bob
I am here
Not sure if I have to leave at some point but I am here now!
My involvement on LOB has been rather spotty lately. Busy traveling all over the place
I am off to Charlotte the day after Boxing Day so I will be a miss then too!
I STINK
Teams in the tunnel now - a lot of chatter about the lack of preparation for the Arsenal after their CL loss in midweek in Napoli.
We're underway at the City of Manchester Stadium this morning. Let the goals begin!
Arsenal will go eight points clear with a win this morning; City will go second with a win.
Early free kick chance for City - cleared out by Sagna.
Pantilimon is again favored over Joe Hart - real implications for the England squad in that, I suspect.
Handbags between Jack and Kompany now - comes to nothing.
A bit scrappy in the early stages. Not a lot of possession for the Arsenal.
Flamini swings a free kick in and earns a corner.
GOAL! Aguero scores the opener - the man is unstoppable these days!
I am back from upstairs just as Aguero volleys into the top corner
Nice finish
Aguero is now on 13 goals, only two behind Luis Suarez who was awarded a goal by the Dubious Goals Panel this week. He's on 15.
Not even a good morning from you !!!!!
Sorry, mate - I didn't notice that you'd come on. I thought I was typing alone. A sincere good morning from me. How's your snow level?
That was a Nocito-like finish from Aguero, right?
Oh - Negredo was clean through there but shanked his shot wide of the near post.
I thought the same about the finish... all FIVE of us could score like that!
Middle of an email to Tony... be back in a tic
We have no snow right now... well... a slight coating from last weekend.
We are expected about 8 inches over night tonight
Have been hammered?
Sure thing; say 'hi' to Chelskilad.
We've had 20 inches in the past three days. I can barely keep up with the driveway.
Pants punch by Pants there!
If Hart had done that, he would have been slated!
I thought you had a lot
My brother in law says you're about to get more!!
GOAL! Theo bags a goal on his return!
1-1!
1-1... Walcot with the goal... well found by Ozil
Yeah - we're getting more this weekend.
Pantilimon with an unimpressive display so far - totally wrongfooted by that shot. Joe Hart is chuckling on the bench.
"Sing when you're winning," sings the Arsenal faithful.
GOAL! Negredo puts Citeh back in the lead. Are you happy with that, UWS?
Citeh retake the lead... nice move
Arsenal were starting to get on top
Great ball by Yaya to Zaba and the Argentinian played an inviting ball in to Negredo.
2-1 Citeh!
No, I don't want a Citeh win at all
More bad news for Arsenal - Koz is going to have to come off. Verminator being warmed up.
Even if it pegs Arsenal back a bit?
Kos will have to come off... he looks like he damaged his knee... after he got up
I know, but I would rather them win than Citeh
Do you really thing United have a chance? I don't!
Of course, I thought United were crap last year too!
I said I was going to be here today but I have to walk the dog and maybe go out shopping... I REALLY STINK AT THIS LARK NOW
No chance of the title now, no.
Leicester and Burnley are at 1-1 in the table-topping Championship match.
Leicester and Burnley are at 1-1 in the table-topping Championship match.
No worries, mate - join in any time. Cheerio!
That should about do it - Citeh go in 2-1 up at half-time.
Half time
Good match so far
I am off for walkies
Enjoy the walk while you can - you're going to get hammered at some point this weekend.
Citeh are on pace to set a new scoring pace for the Premiership. Aguero has pulled up injured, though. He's coming off.
GOAL! Fernandinho curls a beauty - his first in the Prem!
3-1!
Oh - Giroud has had two opportunities to pull Arsenal back to 3-2. Good response from the Gunners.
Could easily have been a pen for the Arsenal there, the ball cannoning off Zaba's arm.
GOAL! 3-2! Theo with another delicious finish there.
Aaron Ramsey with a brilliant feed and Theo curled one around Pants with aplomb - wow!
GOAL! SIlva reestablishes the two-goal lead!
4-2!
The substitute Navas pulls a great goal back for Silva to stab home.
Oh - Wilshere nearly gets another back! Great save, Pants!
The youngster Gnabry coming on to add some attacking verve to the Gunners.
Six goals in and we still have a quarter of an hour - what a match!
Oh - another stinging effort from Fernandinho and Sussudio tips it around.
Back for a few seconds after BLOODY FREEZING walk
Listen to the match on iPhone... you should get one!
Arse should have had a pen? Never offside either?
#5
Arsenal find the net.. offside again
GOAL! It's 5-2 Citeh now! Negredo again!
Looks like this is the correct decision
I'll be listening to Soccer Saturday on the iPhone
I was driving past NYC last week when Leeds made the comeback
Arsenal had only conceded five goals in all of their away matches to this point. And they've conceded another five today!
This isn't a wobble by Arsenal
They lost at Old Trafford too but still one other games
Citeh should be winning this one
I want to see Arsenal beat Chelsea next weekend
I want to see Liverpool start to drop
They have Spurs away, Cardiff home, Citeh away... two losses please
Into stoppage time now and Arsene and his boys will just want to hear the final whistle and get back on the bus.
You need to get yourself an iphone 4S. They're free when you upgrade
Your argument is that all your stuff is on your iPod. Well, you have two devices now.. you'll have two devices again. Keep your ipod and and your iphone can have a few songs and everything else
Treat yourself for Christmas
ANOTHER GOAL
5-3!
5-3!!!!
Mert with another. An eight goal thriller!
It's stopped snowing again, mate, so I'm going to pull on my jeans and head outside for more shoveling.
And now a penalty!!!
Penalty for Citeh... bloody hell!
SIX- THREE!!!!
City win the Set 6-3
Yaya steps up and...scores! 6-3!
Game over
I am off to the store
Talk to you later
TTFN
Cheerio, mate!
We're away with Chelski v. Palace and the rest of the 3pm GMT kickoffs now.
Leeds start on 30 points today, one point better than this time last season.
Leeds immediately up to 7th now on the kickoff of the Yorkshire Derby - and we've got the hottest striker in the Championship in Ross McCormack. Come on, you Whites!
Goals flying in already in the Championship. Yeovil are 0-1 up at Barnsley through a Jamie Grant goal.
And Brum are 0-1 up at Bournemouth.
GOAL! Torres pounces on a rebound from Williian's shot!
1-0 Blues!
Chelski now within two points of Arsenal in second.
Crewe are 0-1 up over woeful Coventry.
Oh - Ivanovic a whisker away from adding a second.
GOAL! Palace have equalized through in-form Chamakh on their first attack!
1-1!
YESSSSSSS!!!!!
The Super Whites are 1-0 up at Donny!
And it's big Matty Smith with the goal - his 7th!
Cor - that's jumped us up to 5th in the table - nosebleed territory for the Whites!
Derby have taken the lead at Charlton!
GOAL! Ramires rattles home Chelski's second there with Hazard pulling defenders wide.
Reading are 0-1 up at Hudders, which drops us back down to 6th - still in the playoff spots, though, don't you know.
More goals flying in in the Championship:
Barnsley have leveled it against Yeovil.
And Blackburn have a rare goal against Evil Millwall.
We're back on for the second half - I'd love to see another goal fly in for the Leeds boys.
By the by, since it's just me on the LOB this morning, I'm thrilled with the Ross/Smith partnership - 21 goals between them and we're not at the mid-way part yet.
In other Prem news, Leon Osman's goal separates the sides at Goodison against Fulham.
Gouffran has a goal for Newcastle against upstart Soton.
Barry "Bloody" Bannan trooping off now to be subbed by Vellasy - and doesn't he look the petulant little boy.
Blackburn are now 2-1 up over Evil Millwall.
Dangerous free kick there - why are Chelski so nervy at defending set pieces?
An hour in and we're still hanging on to that slender lead at Donny - I want another goal to pad things out.
QPR have gone 0-2 up now and are top of the table again.
Mad scramble in the Chelski box - Palace are really giving it a go.
YESSSSS!!!!!!!!
Ross puts us 0-2 up and we're in for the points surely now.
Blimey - that's 17 goals for Ross now. He's getting close to the pace that Becchio set for us last season before getting shopped to Norwich and oblivion.
Schurrlie coming on for Willian to freshen up the legs.
So that's 24 goals now in the Leeds front pairing.
Would be nice if Hudders did us a favor right about now.
Everton are 3-1 up now over Fulham.
Oh - brilliant double (or triple!) save from Schurllie and Ba.
Just about down to stoppage time now. Looks like Chelski may hang on to this one and Leeds for the points as well.
In the end it's a walloping 0-3 win for the Mighty Whites against Donny in the Yorkshire Derby!!!
Over and out for today - cheerio lads!
