Brasil 2014 Predictions Game - Final Update!
Congratulations, Chelskilad! I think it's appropriate that the oldest Lancer among us is the inaugural winner of the Lancer Cup - our new and vaunted trophy for the World Cup and European Championships. He won it by edging out his brother UWS at the final holder by correctly predicting the Germany would win Brasil 2014. As you'll see from the final standings below, some of you also gained an additional eight points from this round for predicting that Lionel Messi would (somewhat inexplicably) grab the Golden Ball (FIFA MVP) alongside Manuel Neuer, who won the Golden Glove for best keeper. None of us had the foresight to correctly predict the James Rodriguez would be Golden Boot (top scorer at the tournament) on six goals.
As holder, Tony will have the Cup for two years until France 2016. I trust that he will find a suitably public space in his abode to display it. Well done, mate!
Here are the final standings:
1. Chelskilad - 80 points
2. United We Stand - 78 pts
3. The Red Devil FCK1 - 68 pts
4. What's Up Wheaton Simon - 60 pts

Tony, when you get the cup, take a picture of you doing your "sad Messi receiving the golden ball award" look. That was bloody priceless yesterday.
Congrats Bruv!!
We have been doing these predictions for quite awhile now and I have never finished outside the top three…. I HAVE ALSO NEVER WON THE DAMN THING!!!
Well done Tony. It was a great PPP competition. A Messi pose would be priceless.Well done!
Hi LOB . Really having trouble posting anything on here so not sure if this is a repeat or not . I'll rewrite a shortened version and see if that works . I dedicate this win to my Grandmother , Alice Strugnell from Portsmouth (England) who was the person who first introduced me to the "World Cup" and the name Pele and the "Brazilian" football team . She was English but loved her football .
Congratulations, Tony - I'm quite moved by your dedication. Looking forward to seeing you with the Lancer Cup held aloft.
That was I 1962 I meant to say .
