We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!
Capital One Cup - Second Round Draw!
The draw for the second round of the Capital One (League) Cup was made this evening. This is the round where the Premiership sides (minus the ones in the Champions League) enter the tournament. The tie of the round is unquestionably Manchester United's trip to meet the Fake Dons.

Your thoughts, gents?
Thanks for the post, Bob. It's a good tie and I hope we show the Fake Dons a lesson and let them have it. I'm surprised you didn't mention the West Yorkshire Derby eight miles down the road. The Hammers vs the Evil Blades should be a good one since the Evil Blades made it to the semis by beating under strengthed Prem sides.Burnley vs Not a Big Club could be interesting. If Ipswich had not lost to Crawley then there would have been an East Anglian Derby at CR. Unfortunately, the ties take place the week my students return to school, so I probably won't be around to contribute. that week.
The First Round concluded today with Cardiff winning 1-2 at Northoventry and the Evil Blades defeated Jayne Mansfield 2-1.The sides that made the CL and EL enter in the Third Round. Stoke vs Pompey should bve interesting and the West London Derby where Brentford hosts Fulham should be a cracker. The Bees defeated Daggenham in a penalty shootout yesterday after a 6-6 draw!
I'm very happy with the draw. An away day in Bradford will do us a treat.
I posted this at the end of the previous post
United last out of the hat
How will LVG treat this tournament? I hope with some seriousness… no Europe to play… then play in the Cups!!
