Can United Get Back on Track?
United in 16th; Villa in 2nd? There's surely something wrong with this picture. Well - United have a chance to get back on track with a brand new line-up and a tasty home fixture with lowly QPR. A win would vault them back up into the top half. Join me this morning to see all the action on the LOB!

I'm enjoying the rebroadcast of NBC's "Match of the Day." It's not the Beeb but enjoyable nonetheless.
And now on to Match Day Live - loving this Sunday morning coverage!
Danny Blind and Marcos Rojo will make their United debuts this morning. Angel di Maria will appear at OT for the first time. Falcao starts on the bench.
And Rio Ferdinand returns. Cor!
The teams are in the tunnel at OT:
Man Utd: De Gea, Evans, Blackett, Rojo, Da Silva, Di Maria, Herrera, Blind, Mata, Rooney, Van Persie. Subs: Shaw, Falcao, Januzaj, Lindegaard, Fletcher, Valencia, Pereira.
QPR: Green, Isla, Ferdinand, Caulker, Hill, Hoilett, Fer, Sandro, Kranjcar, Phillips, Austin. Subs: Traore, McCarthy, Onuoha, Henry, Vargas, Zamora, Taarabt.
The man in black: Phil Dowd (Staffordshire)
Very nice touch - Bobby Charlton presents Rio with a honor for his long service to ManYoo.
QPR gets us underway and Rio has one of the first touches.
Hard to figure out this new United set-up. Looks as if Mata has a free role in midfield with Daley Blind running down the left. Roon in the hole and RVP up front alone.
Di Mario wins the first corner pinging it across toward Roon. Rio cleared out.
Roon hits the first man with the cross. Poor.
Good morning Bob. I'm back from running some errands.
It's incredible that LVG has spent a quarter of a billion on this side and they're still playing Rafa at right back and Tyler Blackett at left back.
I looked at the lineup and it's definitely e new look midfield. I'm still concerned about the back four.
Morning boys
I am back from picking up a car... wish Falcao was playing
Already a useless touch by Rooney in the box
That's what I meant, but other than Rojo and the injured Shaw, what defenders did he buy?
United are playing with more pace
Mata shoots...over.. hit the target Juan
Good morning UWS. I agree. about Falcao as Mata shoots over off a pass from Raffa.
Great break down the right through Rafa and Herrera. The cross was a little behind Mata but he still should have put it on target.
I'm tired of hearing how much better United are with these new signings. I'd like them to start winning b y beating these stupid mugs by a cricket score.
Morning, lads - great to have you on board this morning.
If we win today, we will only be a point behind Liverpool and Arsenal. Two points behind CIteh and Spurs but SIX behind Chelski
Bright start by United, though, right? Obviously an early goal would steady the nerves.
Other than Shaw and Pereira the bench consists of players that LVG wanted to sell but couldn't.
Maybe he'll come on to huge ovation in the second half
I was listening the radio on my phone and said they had a nice presentation for Rio from Sir Bobby. Did NBC show it?
I would have preferred a goal inside the first 10 mins
Correct Bob. That would steady the nerves. Agreed UWS. Chelsea have started quickly and it will be hard to catch them.
I think Falcao is not quite fit, so I expect to see him coming on for RVP in the second half.
Me too. because I don't see these mugs coming from behind. They struggled to get out of the Championship.
Matt just texted me saying that Valencia should be in for Rafa
Shaw in for Blackett
That's what I heard. If he plays it will probably be just a cameo.
United need to ALWAYS play with pace
Anyone but Valencia, but I would have Shaw in for Blackett if Shaw is fit. Is he fully recovered?
Penetrate quicker
Absolutely and why not against these mugs?
Oh dear - RVP and Herrera got in each other's way there when di Maria had set it up on a plate. Why didn't Herrera shout for it?
too slow now
WHo cares about having possession in the center circle
RVP takes it away from Herrera
BUGGER! uNITED SHOULD HAVE SCORED, BUT rvp AND hERRERA GOT IN EACH OTHER'S WAY. United should have taken the lead.
Rooney sucks
United completely dominant at this point - a goal is coming iMHO.
I get the impression that once United score the floodgates will open.
Rooney is the main problem. He's a huge star so it's nearly impossible to drop him but he's not pulling his weight.
Never a foul there... players just fall over and get a foul
I think so. QPR are hanging by a thread.
I agree, MUR - United should be able to roll over these mugs. QPR are just trying to hang on for a point.
It wasn't a foul and also agreed about Roon.
Di Maria got free with pace there but the ball in was poor.
Poor cross by Di Maria. He's better than that.
DiMaria runs with pace but he has caught the United disease.... Crappy Crossing Virus
If you think this lot has a case of the CCV, you should have watched Brum v. Leeds yesterday morning, mate.
United should run at Rio. He's slower than a turtle these days.
Wonder when the last time we only had one game on Sunday
Still a MNF game too
Agreed Bob. I witnessed that yesterday morning.
Why are QPR not wearing their hoops?
Ridiculous
I was thinking the same . Maybe once last season.
CCV again
I think these teams wear change kits to sell extra jerseys. Really ridiculous.
I remember that 1-4 against QPR... that was the beginning of the United's downfall to lose the league to dare I say.... Leeds United
Clint Hill gives away a free kick . A chance for United to score?
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DI MARIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GOAL! Di Maria strikes on his home debut!
YESSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!
DI MARIA GIVES UNITED THE LEAD ON HIS HOME DEBUT. HE WHIPPED IN A FREE KICK AND ELUDED EVERYONE, FOOLING ROB GREEN AS IT WENT IN THE CORNER.
SCORE MORE AND VERY OFTEN UNITED!
A start of many please.... just like Costa
That's why we need Falcao on to open his account
Classic case of a dangerous free kick into a bad area for the keeper and it drifting into the far corner. Might have got a touch off the defender as well.
1-0 United - told ya so!
Old Trafford sounding great
I saw highlights of that 1-4 defeat at a friend's house. A friend was flipping through the channels and accidentally got the match.
I suppose Rob Green is easily fooled.
In terms of the fans , it's sounds like normal service is being resumed.
United up to 9th
Was that a pen???
Normal service resumed at OT.
Now we need to go out and hammer them
I don't want a one or two niller
Clint Dempsey would think so. Clint Hill seemed to have Herrera in the box. That should have been a penalty
Me too. I wouldn't mind a ten niller.
Clint Hill gets a break. Could easily have been given.
Definitely a penalty.
People say Mata would go out of the team
I like him.. I'd get rid Roon
Me too. Spot on, UWS.
I like Herrera
Move Roon back to the midfield? On the right?
RVP heads well over off a cross from Di Maria.
DI Maria with a decent cross but RVP heads over
Love seeing the #7 being worn out there!!!
PHEW!!! What the hell was De Gea doing . fortunately Matty Phillips scuffed it against a defender and United cleared. That's why United need to score more.
I was going to type exactly the same thing
WHAT THE HELL WAS DE GEA DOING
Stupid foul by RVP on Junior Hoilett and deservedly booked. United cheaply conceding possession.
Rubbish by Roon
Arlo White realizes his error. There is not a language barrier between Rojo and De Gea. They BOTH speak Spanish
Rubbish Roon would be a great way to describe Roon and a great nickname.
I think Roon has to be dropped - it'll be a test of LVG's bottle to see if he can do it. You certainly have better midfield options - and if Falcao catches fire, he should push RVP or Roon out of the first 11.
GOAL! Herrera rips one in from the top of the box.
Happy now, boys?
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HERRERRA!!!!!!
Pathetic attempt by Rooney but set up nice
Di Maria with the pace to start it
PACE IS DEADLY
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!
HERRRERA GETS IN ON THE ACT. HIS FIRST UNITED GOAL . GREAT RUN BY DI MARIA. HE PASSED TO ROON , WHOSE SHOT WAS BLOCKED THEN HE PASSED FOR HERRERA , WHO SLOTTED IT IN THE CORNER.
That's what you paid all the money for - di Maria made that goal with a great run with pace out of defense. Roon nearly buggered up the move but it still made it's way to Herrera who did the rest.
Di Maria attacks... I love it
He's was pathetic in the WC match that he actually scored the last second goal but HE LOOKS GOOD
An earlier score in the Championship as Forest drew 1-1 vs Derby County in an East Midlands Derby.
I want more
This is the United of old.... attacking with pace and often
I just noticed an unusual cricket score in Serie A as Inter Milan defeated Sassulo 7-0.
DO THE SAME UNITED!
Still not liking the defending sometimes
Could have conceded twice
United definitely need to sign some good central defenders
Of course you lot want more - you're greedy Mancs.

Tom Geoffrey: Oh there you are Manchester Utd. Welcome back.
Great cross by Di Maria. Pathetic attempt by Roon, who should have put United three up.
The cross from Evans for Mata was just too high.
YES!!!!!!!!!
ROONEY!!!!!!!!!
We can't let up in the second half!
WAY HAY . EVEN ROON SCORES AS UNITED GO THREE UP. THE ASSIST WAS FROM HERRERA.
Are we back or are we just tearing apart the worst team in the Prem?
Two minutes of stoppage time.
We now have a better GD than Liverpool, same as Spurs and one behind Citeh
About your comment MUR, recently we haven't been ripping the worst teams apart!!!
FINALLY WE ARE
I want United to beat their own record and take Ipswich Town off the book for the worst defeat in the Prem
LOVELY JUBBLY ! United are three up at the half.
Half time... completely satisfied... except for Falcao and RVP to get goals
Good point, UWS and I agree about breaking the record vs Ipswich.
The confidence and swagger were definitely back in that first half. Second half kicking off - more of the same?
The second half is underway. Armand Traore is on for the cumbersome Clint Hill.
QPR have dropped to 16th with that first half demolition. Not a great day for Rob Green either. Completely baffled on the first one and beaten at his near post by Roon. Ouch!
DO NOT LET UP
Di Maria is already an OT favorite
You may have mentioned it earlier but Forest and Derby have finished 1-1. Leaves Forest on top and Derby 10th.
Great save by De Gea... come on United.. get your finger out
Kick save by De Gea from Krancjar off a run and pass from Traore.
Oh - rare attack by QPR through the sub Traore and De Gea had to do really well to save from Kranjcar.
SCORE MORE AND OFTEN UNITED!
Rojo has been decent
Falcao to come on at the hour mark?
Ditto MUR
From Robbie Savage
"Excellent play from Angel Di Maria. He is someone with pace, balance, desire and tricks. That is what being a Manchester United player is all about."
Come on United....get OT rocking again
Say we didn't get defenders isn't really true
Blind, Rojo and Shaw
Poor pass by Roon intended for Raffa.
How did Mata or Roon not score!!!
How did United not score? Herrera shot and Roon deflected it straight to Green.
Yes. I would like Falcao on for Roon. The hour mark would be a great time.
RVP is actually running hard today
LIke to see him score
I think he'll come on for RVP
In terms of signing defenders, I think I said that we only signed Rojo and Shaw. Isn't Blind more of a midfield player? I think Rojo and Shaw are both left backs. I meant to say that we need to sign true central defenders and at least two of them.
That's a shame. I wished it was for Roon, but RVP has lacked sharpness . That may work as well.
A great sign as United fans applaud Falcao warming up.
GOAL! Mata converts Di Maria's cross cum shot into a fourth goal.
4-0! You lot have to be happy now.
WAY HAY !!!!! DI MARIA SLICED APART THE QPR DEFENSE AND JUAN MATA FINISHED EASILY FROM CLOSE RANGE , SMASHING IT INTO THE ROOF OF THE NET.
YES!!!!!!
FOUR NIL!!!
Mata from a DiMaria 'shot'
I WANT MORE
Four different scorers
Yes. Definitely pleased. I'd like is to score more.
Juan Vargas, the Chilean on a season long loan from Napoli, is on for Charlie Austin.
Agreed, UWS. Great to see lots of different players scoring.
I'd also like more because it's these mugs.
Caught Citeh, Swansea and Villa
Need a couple more to catch Sotton... SIX to catch Chelsea
Isla wins a corner off of Blind.
I'd like that. We do need Chelsea to start dropping points. I think they face Citeh next weekend.
I;'ll be in the Citizens corner
The second away match in a row that QPR have been hit for four.
A poor back header from Traore goes out for a United corner.
United keep possession off the corner.
Curled high and wide by Roon.
If only you could play QPR at Old Trafford every week, eh?
Falcao warming up
Great ball by Di Maria.... loving it
Wahey - we're going to get a look at Falcao now. Perfect timing. He's got 25 minutes to get a debut goal in front of the Stretford End and become an instant legend.
OH! great through ball from Di Maria and RVP with an outstretched leg, volleys straight to Rob Green.
Way to ruin it by bringing on Valencia on as well
Rafa and Mata coming off
Rooney to move back
If we did then we'd score about 150 goals a season. I'd love to see Falcao chip in against these mugs.
Kranjcar has been the only spark for QPR. Lifts a shot well over.
And here comes the new boy...
Agreed . Valencia is the last player I would like to see as Krancjar shoots over.
COME ON UNITED'S NEW #9
Falcao is on for Mata and Valencia on for Raffa.
First man to wear #9 since Drac, eh? Auspicious.
First touch goal please
Definitely plenty of United goal scorers on the pitch./
Daley Blind has played a really good match in that holding role, allowing Di Maria to play the free role.
I thought that was an odd coincidence about the # 9 jersey.
Damn.. didn't score with first touch
Roon pathetic touch!!!
Oh - Roon should have scored #5 - poor from him but no one really cares at this point.
Caulker tackles Roon as he was about to shoot.
I do
One blue boot and one red one, eh? Flash bastard!
Well, you're not happy unless United are winning 9-0 every weekend, are you?
United's next two games
Leicester away
West Ham home
I would love to see us beat these mugs by that score.
We need to win both those matches.
Roon had no idea what to do with the ball at the top of the box
RVP shoots just over off a pass from Falcao.
RVP gets a shot away and thinks he should get a corner from it. Nothing doing from Phil Dowd.
he keeps annoying me
As I said yesterday, he is close to Sir Bobby's goal scoring record for United and England but he still won't be considered a legend for either
Citeh vs Chelsea is the late match next Sunday. It should be cracker.
As you mentioned the score earlier
Inter scored seven today... my pick for Serie A
He's bound to beat Sir Bobby's record at this point, with 41 already and a relatively easy qualifying campaign ahead. He should beat it against bloody San Marino at Wemberley next month!
Juve still on top, though.
The nasty Karl Henry is on for Sandro. What is the point of that being four down?
Lee Dixon agrees with me.
Untied faithful full of song today
Pathetic forward pass by Roon... he is so up and down!!!
He can be deadly or just flat out hopeless
PHEW Vargas shot wide with just De Gea to beat off really sloppy United defending.
Rangers should have scored
Other than the goal he was flat out hopeless.
Falcao is playing too deep right there.... get in the box
LVG signed a player in the transfer window named Nobody in particular. Roon passes to him all the time.
Agreed. I'd love to see him get at least a couple.
DiM better not be hurt
Di Maria. Is it an injured hammy?
