Lakenheath Old Boys
We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

The teams are headed out of the tunnel with Mike Dean in charge of this match
They're off from Upton Park.
The Hammers will be favorites based on league position, but Palace are currently in a better run of form. This one is hard to predict.
Bolassie wins a corner off of Private Jenkinson.
The corner is cleared after Mutch had a header from the D blocked off of what looked like a training ground routine.,
Valencia wins a free kick near the coirner flag after a tussle with Joe Ward. The free kick from the Coyote is headed out for a corner that is gathered by Speroni.
A speculative effort from Aaron Cresswell nearly catches Speroni out as it was inches over from just outside the box as he collected a poor back pass from Jason Puncheon.
Morning, MUR - thanks for getting us going this morning. I overslept a bit, as my alarm clock needs a new battery. Looking forward to a champion Premiership Saturday.
The Hammers have a free kick just outside the box.OH!!! the free kick from mark Noble crashes off the bar and out for a goal kick.
Good morning Bob. Glad to help. I'm delighted to be chatting with you.
Mark Noble has signed a new contract , which is good through 2021. He was given his Hammers debut by Alan Pardew , the opposing manager today
OUCH!!! Horrible by Jim Beglin as he said Jason Puncheon is not punching his weight. Even worse than Yours Truly.
The commentators are taking a feather out of your cap with some awful Jason Puncheon puns.
Definitely terrible. I guess the Strawberry Alarm Clock has run its course.
A return to Upton Park for Alan Pardew.
LOL!
I can already tell that this is not going to be a match full of quality.
I can hear the plows going up and down the street now, so we must have gotten some more snow last night. I daren't even look outside.
AT least March is a sign that you should be on a warming trend the next few weeks. I'm sure you and Kate will be looking forward to that.
Puncheon plays in Glenn Murray , but his effort was sliced wide as it was good marking by Winston Reid.
Here are the starting XIs for this morning's early one:
Hammers - Adrian, Private Jenkinson, Reid, Tomkins, Creswell, Song, Kouyate, Noble, Downing, Valencia, Sakho.
Palace - Speroni, Ward, Dann, Delaney, Kelly, Jedinak, Zaha, Puncheon, Mutch, Bolasie, Murray.
Yes - I hear that things are going to warm up to the mid-30s this week, which will be a blessing as we've been stuck in the deep freeze for the entire month of February.
Valencia wins a corner off of Scott Dann. The corner is taken short and Valencia crosses straight to Speroni.
Sakho wins a corner off of Martin Kelly.
The corner from Ten downing Street is headed away by Scott Dann.
I know that's still chilly , but at least you can go outdoors without worrying about frostbite. It's a start.
Sakho has a shot deflected for a corner as Mark Noble tackled Bolassie in midfield.
Mark Noble has a shot go out for a throw after a corner from Ten downing Street was headed away by Glenn Murray.
Jedinak seemed to catch Kouyate as he went for that Downing cross. He's arguing his case with Mike Dean right now.
Oh - Murray pulls a great save out of Adrian at his near post. Good chance there for Palace!
End to end stuff now - but it's like watching cavemen playing football.
James MacArthur is on for the injured Jordan Mutch
That chance by Glenn Murray was Palace's best chance of the match
That's an interesting way of putting it, but I Guess that's a fairly accurate description.
Murray's in trouble here - he's already been booked earlier.
Glenn Murray trips the Coyote. He was booked earlier , but I did not see that. He gets a warning from Mike Dean.
Mark Noble has been called for a couple of infractions.
Well, I remember Fat Sam criticizing Man Utd's "Route 1 Football" a few weeks ago, but everything I've seen so far from them has been long ball.
The free kick that was punched in was headed out for a corner as the danger was read.
I think he's changing due to recent results.
A mad scramble in the Hammers box there, with Murray going to ground. Mike Dean was confused by the whole thing.
Cresswell with a great block by Delaney after a poor back pass from Valencia off the corner.
I didn't see much wrong. It was going to be difficult to call a penalty. I guess Jimmy Dean got it just about right for once.
A moment's applause for Young Aussie trainee, Dylan Tombides.
Another block by Adrian from Murray.
Nice tribute to a fallen player there from both sets of fans.
Stupid by Winston Reid as he pushes Glenn Murray to the ground. I've seen red given for those.
GOAL! Murray scores on the stroke of half-time!
Palace have a corner.
GOAL !!! GLENN MURRAY SC ORES WIOTH A SOFT HEADER OFF A CORNER THAT WAS PUNCHED IN. IT CAME OFF OF CRESSWELL AND WRONG FOOTED ADRIAN.
A comedy of errors there with Cresswell trying to hack the ball away to safety from Glenn Murray's header. It's probably an own goal as Cresswell's whiff took the ball out of Adrian's path.
0-1 Palace!
A scrappy goal in a scrappy match, but this one was coming as Palace had been dominating the last few minutes and Murray had a couple of chances earlier.
That goal moves Palace well out of the drop zone into 12th, and a full 10 points clear of QPR and Burnley.
Zaha has a cross headed out by Winston Reid for a corner as he initially beat Cresswell to the ball/.
MacArthur has a shot blocked then Sakho clears
I don't see Palace going down. They should be safe.
A minute of stoppage time.
It's halftime and Palace are deservedly one up.
The goal, originally credited to Glenn Murray , will probably go down as an Aaron Cresswell own goal.
That's half-time then. Fat Sam won't be happy with that at all. They go in one-nil down at home to a bottom half club.
Morning Boys
I am up and ready to be totally frustrated by my beloved!
Not a good week for British clubs in Europe. Everton the only survivor with Celtic, Spurs and Liverpool all getting booted out of Europa League and City and Arsenal hanging by their finger nails in the Champions League
Have you banished Fred from the house ahead of that Man Utd match up with Sunderland?
I have a wedding to go to tonight and then a brunch tomorrow when all the good games are on!!
Second half underway at Upton Park
Morning, UWS - great to have you on board for the second half. Palace are 0-1 up and kick things off again.
Not sure if I have shared this with website with you
It is a direct link to SS
http://www.vipleague.se/football/255940/1/gillette-soccer-saturday-%7C-gillette-soccer-special-%7C-sports-sunday-live-stream-online.html
Good morning, UWS. Great to have you on board.
Fred is still here, but he's been making cat jokes. He called United a bunch of Pussies. Really naughty.
Nice one, mate - thanks!
Really naughty - definitely a yellow card offense. I get the feeling that Fred may be heading for an early bath today. He won't like it.
That would be a great punishment. Cats hate baths.
Two consecutive Palace corners.
GOAL! Dann doubles Palace's lead!
GOAL !!! SCOTT DANN HEADS IN AT THE FAR POST THANKS TO A CORNER THAT WAS PUNCHED IN. PALACE GO TWO UP.
Palace are beating the Hammers at their own Route 1 game today. It's the second goal from a set piece. Winston Reid lost his man at the back post and Dann punished him.
0-2!
Zaha streaks away again now and feeds MacArthur who falls over himself.
I don't see the Hammers coming back from this deficit. Johnno will not be pleased that the Hammers conceded both goals from corners due to poor defending
joe Ward is booked for a foul on Valencia just outside the box.
A horrible free kick from the usually reliable Mark Noble.
Alan Pardew has Palace back to basics and playing more like Crystal Pulis.
Song obstructed Zaha a and then got a free kick as nothing was coming from playing the advantage,.
Nearly a third as the free kick from Jedinak was just wide.,
Thompkins booked for a naughty challenge on Bolassie.
Sakho fouls Zaha near the corner flag.
Adrian, the veteran Brazi, is on for Song, whose have Hammers have hit some sour notes today.
Definitely a tactical move as it's striker on for a holding middie.
Murray goes down easily from a challenge by the Coyote after what appeared to be intentional hand ball by MacArthur.
Hey Boys
I am back having a little chat with Kathy about our new kitchen
Discussing where things should go
All the cabinets are in but thee is no countertop hence no sink!
Bloody Hell
THREE NIL EAGLES!
GOAL! Murray sneaks in a header for #3!
GOAL !!! ANOTHER PALACE GOAL FROM A SET PIECE AS GLENN MURRAY HEADS IN A FREE KICK THAT WAS PUNCHED IN.
Fat Sam is going to be seeing red as Palace score from a third set piece. That's inexcusable for an Allardyce side. And the Hammers fans are heading for the Tube.
The Hammers have a corner.
Valencia is booked for a tackle on puncheon. Harsh.
Johnno will not be pleased that the Hammers have concede all three goals from set pieces due to horrific marking. Fat Sam will not be pleased that hand ball was not called on MacArthur on the possession that led to that free kick.
Thompkins heads well wide off a free kick.
They mentioned it during half time but NZ beat the Aussies in the cricket world cup last night
I was watching some of it
The Aussies were 80 for 1 and then were 97 for 7 and then 101 for 9 but scored 150 ish
NZ had a great start, lost some wickets and then were a few from victory and lost some more and held on and one by ONE wicket
Yeah - WHR won't be happy with this result. With Chelski and Arsenal to come soon, this result may well put the Hammers out of European contention for this season.
Johnno will not be pleased that his team is really getting hammered. Will the irons see this as the final nail in Fat Sam's coffin?
Oh - off the post from the Brazilian Nene!
UNited's line up
De Gea
Smalling Evans Rojo
Valencia Herrera Blind Di Maria Young
Rooney Falcao
According to LVG
Jones sick
Shaw TIRED!!
What the hell
Glenn Murray is sent off for a second yellow as he is called for a foul on Winston Reid. I still think it will be too late for the Hammers to come back from three down.
Murray with a second yellow and a red card
NEVER TOUCHED HIM
Bloody cheaters
Also, LVG has said that United are lacking a top striker. RVP and Falcao won't like to hear that.
Well, I'm sure sick and tired of those two. If they're not going to be of any use then have them put in your kitchen sink and be of some use.
This will be West Ham's sixth match without a win
That includes draws against United, Sotton and Spurs
Yeah - but Murray could have easily gone off earlier before his headed goal.
For once, LVG is correct.
Useless attempt of a break by the United Reject Zaha
He's now off
Shola Ameobi is on for Zaha as Pardew salvages his career thanks to the Tyneside connection.
He said we don't have a 20 goal striker
There's a bloke called Rooney that has scored 20 goals... when he's in the box!!!
RVP used to be a 20 goal a season striker for Arsenal and United. What's happened? Is he past it?
Is one of the bathtubs a substitute kitchen sink.
I think RVP was a a one season wonder and Roon would be if United would play the United way.
So, who's getting married tonight, UWS?
Sakho wins a corner for the Hammers.
Goal for Valencia... 1-3.. game on?
GOAL! Valencia fires home a consolation goal - or this the start of the Hammers come-back?!
Walt's step daughter... to a Chilean
Valencia fed by Downing, his shot was with power and little backlift. Too hot for Speroni to handle.
GOAL !!!! VALENCIA PULLS ONE BACK FOR THE HAMMERS. A SHORT CORNER LANDED AT TEN DOWNING STREET, WHO PASSED TO VALENCIA AND SPERONI SHOULD HAVE DONE BETTER AS HE PALMED IT INTO THE CORNER.
Sounds like a great time, as long as Walt doesn't give you any stick about United.
Martin Kelly clears for a Hammers corner taken short. A cross from the Private is well out of play.
Can the Hammers get two back in a quarter of an hour left.
So many Americans think one nil means game over
BUt three nil with fifteen to go
That goal puts West Ham on the up
Only takes a second to score a goal and then who knows!
Score in the 88th minute and they could still get it back
Any of us are a target for stick based on the way United have played the last couple of seasons.
Definitely true, UWS. Johnno sure hopes so.
I've said this before but how times have changed
I just went to the ESPN website
The scoreboard at the top of the page are all the Premier League games
The main picture is of the NZ cricket win!!
Jenkinson should of scored there
Jenkinson has a shot blocked for a corner after being put through by Noble Ten Downing Street shoots just wide off the corner from Noble.
With all the games I am missing tomorrow cuz of the brunch is the East Anglian derby at Carrow Road
What a big game that is
I'm off to take Elizabeth and Jacquelyn grocery shopping. I will be back for the Match at OT.
5 added minutes
Still time
Palace are really playing nervous back there
They're into added time
Leeds playing a tough Watford side today
Can they bounce back from the Brighton Battering
Cheerio, mate!
Palace are perfect away from home under Pardew!
I'll take a point from that tough match with Watford, for sure. That would take us to 42 points, only eight shy of survival.
Palace up to 12th
They're safe
I picked them to go down pre-Pulis departure
Your lot were on a great run until midweek. I think they were the better of the two teams but still lost
Game over
A surprising win for Palace
Im off for walkies
I'll be back
That's another big away win for Alan Pardew's Palace - and they're well out of trouble now. He's been a revelation at Selhurst Park.
Enjoy your chilly walkies with Shadow.
LVG has made five changes to the United side that lost to Swansea last week. Here's the team news out of OT:
United - Twilight, Evans, Smalling, Rojo, Blind, Valencia, Herrera, Di Maria, Yashley, Falcao, Roon. Subs: Mata, Jan, LIndy, Carrick, Hair Bear, McNair, Wilson.
Sunderland - Pants, Revelles, Brown, O'Shea, Van Aan, Clattermole, Johnson, Larsson, Gomez, Wickham, Defoe. Subs: Bridcutt, Fletch, Graham, Mannone, Vergini, Watmore.
Cheers, mate - that SS link is marvelous!
Leeds start in 14th today after that mid-week loss to Brighton. Here's the starting XI for the Whites:
Silvestri, Wootton, Bamba, Cooper, C. Taylor, Murphy, Cook, Byram, Austin, Mowatt, Sharp. Subs: Adryan, Cani, Berardi, S. Taylor, Walters, Sloth, Antenucci.
As I said earlier, I'll take a point.
Teams coming out at Old Trafford now - LVG looks scowly as usual. If you were a manager of a top Premiership side, wouldn't you smile from ear to ear every time you walked out of the tunnel with your side?
I'm back in time for kickoff at OT.
I think a point would be a decent result against the Hornets . Better than a stinging defeat.
The Black Cats wearing blue will get us underway at Old Trafford.
Welcome back, mate - great timing!
A return to OT for O'Shea and Wes Brown as they're off from OT.
I am back and thawing
Will United go FORWAD!!
Cheers mate. Fred says that United will be pussy whipped and that he will be enjoying a Dutch delight.
First useless cross by United wideman
A chilly walkies, UWS - i'll bet! It's a mere Three Degrees here (and that's not the singing group!)
I'm sure UWS will want to throw everything , including the kitchen sink to spur United to move forward.
West Brom have taken the lead against the Saints
Big Nose is already yelling. The Baggies are in front early doors at the Hawthorns. Berahino with a rocket into the top of the net apparently.
BOOM BOOM.It's in the upper 40s , foggy and breezy here this morning.
Loving this SS link, mate - the other ones were giving me fits with all the pop ups.
Young fails to get the ball over again.. United get a corner.. Useless
But get another one
HATE THE FRONT POST CORNERS!
Yashley wns a corner.Herrera has a header blocked for a corner off the corner from Di Maria.
Oh - Roon had a chance from the di Maria corner there. Put it wide.
Roon heads wide off the next corner from Di MAria.
Berahino with the goal for the Baggies.
Rooney should have done better there
I know about the pop ups
I somehow found the SS webpage
I also just go to the Cricfree site for other links
http://cricfree.tv
That Baggies goal is great news for United and the other Champions League hopefuls.
Oh - great save from Twilight from Connor "Bloody" Wickham.
ATTACK WITH PACE!!!
Pathetic by Di Maria
sigh
THe United defense just let Wickham run run run
Good save by De Gea
De Gea saves from whickham on the break. A corner.
The corner eludes everyone and United win a throw.
How was there so much space
Sunderland's corner actually bounces inside the box
Lucky to survive... just like at Swansea
LEEDS TAKE THE LEAD!!!
YESSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Billy Sharp with the Leeds opener!!!!!!
1-0 Whites!
Bloody hell... United have a throw in... give away a shot... useless by Rooney
Dafoe curls an effort wide as Roon had the ball nicked off him .
Again... going backwards... WHY!!!!!!!!!
That's only Billy's fourth goal of the season but Redders has been keeping the faith with him recently.
United look pathetic... AGAIN!
THEY'RE NOT GOOD ENOUGH PLAYING AROUND IN THE BACK!!!!
A "dreadful looking surface" at Hillsborough, according to the SS reporter. Doesn't sound like a big club to me, does it?
United get ten yards inside Sunderland's half but lose possession again
Congrats Bob! At least your team has some sharpness about it.
Shut it
United are second best in EVERY game they play
I guess Fred is right about United being pussy whipped. He says Shaw and Jones are pussies.
Falcao gets the ball has no idea what to do with it
Passes it to DiMaria.. the 59 million man can't control a rolling ball
Smalling puts in a pouncing throw in to De Gea
THESE ARE BASICS!!
And often third and fourth rate.
What do they do during midweek?
Why aren't they getting any better?
If only United had precious time to practice those basics.
Young has a shot... over
Falcao was being hugged in the box
wide by Yashley after Di MAria had a cross headed out. Never a pen on Falcao.
I know.. only if they didn't have those european trips taking up their time
Yashley with a shot just over the bar.
United are clueless in creating anything
Coventry two up against MK
LVG will say that it's all about studying theory then putting applying what they've learned. And those trips to the pub. They're important!
Well, United have gone across the pitch three times
Di Maria goes forward.... row B
UNBELIEVABLY BAD
Roon would be the twenty goal man if only he changed his tactics.
How is LVG getting away with how bad United are playing
I didn't complain about Moyes not doing that well. I complained the way they played
These guys are worse
