Lakenheath Old Boys
We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Morning Bob
Im here and there this morning
Not sure when the dog walk and the five mile walk will happen. Will have to dodge the rain somehow
We are off at the SoL
Spur want a pen right away... not given...not a very good challenge there!
And we're away. This is the first chance to have a look at Spurs' new 35 million pound Korean from Bayer Leverkusen, Son.
There is a penalty somewhere around the country
Blackburn get a pen and score it at the Cottage
They are still losing 1-2
Morning, mate - it's been raining constantly here since Friday night. I suppose the flower beds needed it, but....
This is being called a "relegation six-pointer," as Spurs are 17th and Sunderland are 19th. Neither side have won a match yet.
With the kick off, both of these clubs get a point in the table which drops Chelsea down to 17th.. a spot out of the relegation zone!!
No matter the result of this match, Chelsea are going to drop to 17th
A win by Newcastle at Upton Park on Monday would put them in the zone
Same here with the weather
Should be a rainy game for the Bills today then
That would be lovely to see Chelski in the relegation zone.
That's the forecast, yeah. Is it the Bills' home opener today?
Only downer of the weekend so far was the Citeh winner
I could have done with them dropping a couple points there
They host the Hammers next week. Who will be the first team to score against them... let alone get a point off them... let alone beat them
Yup, the host Andrew Luck and the Colts
According to ESPN, there are still 936 tickets available
As predicted, Benteke's goal was #1 on ESPN's Top Ten Plays of the Day
Good news for me - I use the Bills schedule to plan my weekly food shopping. The supermarket is empty when they're playing.
That was a special goal from Benteke.
Kane blazes one just over the top. He'll score one before long.
Vertonghen picks up a yellow for a rash one - studs up on Mensa. Could have been red?
Lloris did well to bail out his back four there.
All a bit nervy, this, with little composure in the final third. Sunderland are certainly picking some pace up and Spurs aren’t looking confident knocking the ball about at the back.
Borini picks up a yellow card for diving in from behind.
Not much happening so far at the Stadium of Not so Bright
Defoe was pulled over there by Vertonghen. The Belgian has already been booked and is walking a tightrope now.
Well, it's kicking off a bit and the referee is having difficulty not just booking all of them.
Oh - Defoe was in on goal but he hits the post!!
Davies is in need of treatment so the players are having a water break at the half hour mark.
Decent move there by Sunderland through Borini to Defoe. He tried to find Toivenen in the middle but it was snuffed out.
The Korean Son has really looked up to the pace of the Prem quite yet - I'm not impressed.
Now he has a dig from distance - well wide with the left-peg.
Defoe gets free but seems to be being held by Alderweide. Gets the shot off but it's tamely into Lloris' arms.
Son spurns another chance.
Son spurns another chance.
The clock is winding down to half-time. Disappointing half, especially for Spurs who desperately need three points to escape the bottom quarter of the table.
I was doing some errands and sitting on the loo
Didn't miss much
Fulham beat lowly Blackburn Rovers
Not raining right now so we are off for shad's walk right now
Don't think I will miss much
Spurs had plenty of the ball without creating anything clear-cut, except perhaps the chance towards the end of the half that Son could get no purchase on after Walker’s pass. I’d have to see that one again to ascertain how bad a miss it was.
Enjoy that wet walk, mate. I'd throw Shadow out the back.
Good morning Bob. I just woke up. We were out till the wee hours at a wedding.
Good morning UWS
The second half is underway and it's 0-0 at the SOL.
Sunderland get us underway in the second half from Stadium of Light.
I saw that Fulham defeated Blackburn 2-1 earlier this morning.I think that was a noon kickoff. I wonder why that was a police game.
Borini is down off a challenge that wreaked of masonry and not even a free kick was given
Cat calls as Mason shoots well wide. That was a definite brick
Morning, MUR - great to have you on board this morning.
This has been a fairly disappointing outing so far.
Jermaine Lens saw the corner as he was put through , but his shot was easily saved by LLoris then the Spuds go up the field and Panti is injured as he collects a through ball from Mason as he collides into a player, but seems to be okay
Thanks mate. I guess Fred and I didn't really miss anything. He's napping in my bedroom.
MUhammed Alli plays a ball across the box , but nobody was there to connect. He was signed from the Fake Dons in an Evil transfer
Townsend is on for Son, who played like anything but number one son.
Fred's a fickle fan, eh?
Yeah - Son was rubbish today. I'm not sure he's suited for the Prem.
A shot from Billy Jones took a wicked deflected and Lloris struggled to punch away after a miscommunication with his back four.
I think he saw the writing on the wall for this match.
Great through ball from Dafoe, who had the vision to find Jermaine Lens. He was through, but took too long to shoot and was tackled.
I think Sunderland have just enough quality to stay up. But they'll be scrapping the whole season.
Why was there a noon kickoff at the Cottage between two no name teams.Don't you and Kate run an orderly place?
I was thinking of picking them for the drop , but didn't for the reason you just mentioned.
We try to but the Championship bosses will have their way.
Billy Jones heads out a cross from Townsend for a corner. Then Harry Kane misses a sitter, volleying wide from a couple of yards out.
Oh dear - a complete whiff there by Harry Kane. Seemed to be a fairly easy side-footed volley.
Lamella is on for Muhammed Ali. Pochettino should have started th last two subs he brought on,.
I know you and Kate do. The Football League is really unobservant and should be ashamed of themselves. You will be happy that the Cottagers won 2-1, leaving Blackburn in the drop zone.
I'm happy that Andros Townsend is no longer in the England set up.
Another corner for the Spuds.
It's easily caught by Panti as that corner from Townsend is pants. I agree with you about him no longer being in the England set up.
I'm reasonably satisfied to see that Leeds are 12th. 8 points from six matches. 42 points to get from the remaining 40 matches. So that's another 39 score draws and one win, eh?
Dick Advocate is about to make a double substitution .An injury occurred while I typed the previous comment. It was Borini again
You are right on course to stay up and Uwe should last the whole season at this rate.
Lee Cattermole is on for Jordi Gomez and Duncan Whatmore is on for the battered Borini. Whatmore already has a Prem goal to his name.
Chadli has a shot deflect off of Kaboul for a corner
Dier, the grandson of Ted Croker, heads straight to Panti off a short corner.
Kaboul did well to prevent his former club from taking the lead.
Kane has lost half of his shirt now and looks a bit like a runway model at a postmodernist fashion show.
Harry Kane has a torn shirt to remind him that this is not Candy Land.
Ryan Mason went on a run down the right and his cross was headed out for a corner. Now Kane changes his shirt
A poor corner is cleared by the first man, but Mason looks like one as his weak effort is easily saved.
The final roll of the dice by Dick Advocate as Jack Rodwell is on for Toivonen. Those changes tell me that he is happy to settle for a point.
Toivenen is the latest debutante to trudge off after a disappointing debut. Rodwell on for him.
GOAL !!!RYAN MASON GIVES THE SPUDS THE LEAD.
GOAL! Ryan Mason finishes off a lovely move to win the match!
Play resumed off that substitution where a twenty pass move resulted in a goal. Good first time football where the final passes were from Mason to Kane . Then he passed to Lamella who played a superb through ball and Mason scored with a nice finish past the on rushing Panti
Two successive corners for the Black Cats
The Black Cats were unlucky not to equalize as Lloris flapped at a corner and former Spud, Kaboul passed to Rodwell, whose shot crashed off the bar
The final roll of the dice for Pochettino as Tom Carroll is on for Ryan Mason. That seems to be like for like.
The ref saw Townsend foul Lens.
A poor free kick from M'Vila is straight to Lloris.
Into stoppage time. Five minutes for the Black Cats to tie it up.
Into stoppage time now.
Chadli shoots over off a pass from Lamella as the SPuds were menacing in the Black Cats box.
Has Fred woken up for the last few moments?
Lens heads just wide off a cross from Kaboul.
No . He's still taking a cat nap. He didn't fancy this one.
That's it - Spurs have picked up their first win of the season. That will lift them into mid-table. Sunderland are still down in the dumps.
It's over and the Spuds grind out a 0-1 win at the SOL. They should enjoy the long trip home.
That's enough for me today, mate. I'm going to opt for errands rather than Leicester v. Villa.
Cheerio!
Hello mate. I'm back from taking Sparky for walkies. It seems as if I din't miss much
Cheers mate. enjoy the rest of your day
WOW
Leicester City went two nil down but has just taken the lead in the 90th minute! Three goals in the last 18 minutes!!
They're going to go above United into second place
City fans are letting the Villa fans hear it
You're not singing
You're not singing
You're not singing anymore
You're not singing anymore
Villa scored two really nice goals with curling shots either side of the break but Leicester City come roaring back!!
They've won it after seven added minutes
Leicester City for the title!!
Well done Foxes
Bob picked the wrong match to do errands!
Take care boys
