England v. Estonia Live!
England go into this evening's Euro 2016 qualifier with nothing to lose, having already qualified top for the tournament in France next summer. They're also on a run of form that means that they've won seven qualifiers on the trot in this group. So, it looks likely that Woy will forgo the use of 50-goal striker Wayne Rooney in favor of blooding Harry Kane alongside his North London rival Theo Walcott.
Join me for all of the action this afternoon from 2:45pm onward.

Afternoon, chaps - I'm marooned again in the office on a rainy afternoon here in Fred-town. But I've got my eye firmly planted on today's Euro 2016 qualifiers. I hope you'll drop in for a cuppa.
Here are the implications for the home side in today's dead rubber of a match:
A win in either of their final two qualification games will also guarantee England a place among the top seeds for December’s Euro 2016 draw, with the 24 teams who eventually qualify set to be seeded into four pots of six, then drawn into six groups of four. Nations will be allocated their place in pot one, two, three or four based on their Uefa national team coefficient, a ranking which will be calculated in November and based on results over the previous two-and-a-half years. Exciting, eh?
The teams as they line-up this evening:
England: Hart, Clyne, Smalling, Cahill, Bertrand, Lallana, Milner, Barkley, Walcott, Kane, Sterling.
Subs: Walker, Butland, Jones, Chamberlain, Jagielka, Townsend, Shelvey, Vardy, Alli, Gibbs, Heaton.
Estonia: Aksalu, Teniste, Jaager, Klavan, Pikk, Kallaste, Dmitrijev, Mets, Zenjov, Purje, Vassiljev.
Subs: Meerits, Londak, Barengrub, Jurgenson, Baranov, Lindpere, Puri, Antonov, Kams, Gussev, Teever, Luts.
Good afternoon, Bob. I will be in and out for the first half and unfortunately, will not be around for the second half. I will be available Saturday through Monday
How about the Irish. What a massive result in Dublin yesterday.
Teams out on the pitch now and we're just about set to go. Gary Cahill is exchanging the usual pageantry with his Estonian counterpart.
Kane and Lallana get us underway in this ninth qualifier of the campaign. Forgive me for the earlier error - England have won their last eight.
Oh dear - it's dirty old man David Pleat on the color duties tonight, so look forward to some lascivious comments about Harry Kane's thrusting thighs.
England all over Estonia from the off. Barkley nearly pulled the trigger there, but he elected to earn a corner.
Oh - what a volley from Theo! Well saved by the Estonian keeper Aksalu. He'll be a busy boy tonight, for sure.
Theo and Barkley get in each others' way there.
Good tracking back there by Sterling on the occasion of a rare foray by Estonia into England's half. I still don't think that Joe Hart has had a touch yet in this first ten minutes.
I've just noticed that the NFL logo is still visible in the center circle after last weekend's nonsense display of gridiron.
I'm watching the match on the link fromwork and the first thing I hear is Dirty Old Man, Pleat.
First touch for Hart then at the 8 minute mark.
That NFL game was a disgrace
Sorry, mate - I didn't see you pop on there. Welcome!
Tremendous results for the Irish. Scotland just about won against the Polish as well. A serviceable result but they're just about out of the reckoning.
Harry Kane is well offside off a long clearance. He's had that problem quite frequently this season.
Cheers mate. I think the Scots are out. I think second place is between the Irish and Poles, to be decided in Warsaw on Sunday
Yeah - both are guaranteed at least a playoff spot. The match on Sunday is really for the second automatic slot.
Bob will be pleased to see another touch from Joe Hart> He prevented a corner . pleat was thrilled.
Oh - Barkley takes a tumble in the box as he latches on to a ball from Lallana. Nothing doing from the referee.
A wild lash at it from distance from Lallana.
Barkley was about to shoot as he was through on goal , but was stopped with a last ditch tackle. He went down easily, looking for a pen, which would have been harsh on the Eatserners
I am pleased; I hate to think that Big Joe is going to get bored this evening.
Naughty by Klavan on Kane.
Good save from Aksalu and Barkley tried to pound home the rebound there.
The keeper weakly punches away a cross from Ryan Bertrand that should have been caught then comfortably saves the rebound from Barkley
Aksalu was with the Evil Blades , but never played a first team game. The was loaned to Jayne Mansfield then of the Conference.
I would have liked to have seen Sturridge tried out in combination with Kane. That's got to be the strike partnership of the future for England with Rooney waning.
I hate him already.
Sterling went on a solo run down the left , but couldn't get past Tenieste, whom he fouled.
I thought you would say that. Also, It would have been great to see that striker partnership against these mugs.
That was nasty from Mets - should have gotten a yellow.
I agree. Useless from the Magyar Ref.
Oh - great move by England mostly through Theo, ending with Sterling curling one. Well wide, though.
Great one touch passing from the Three lions. It finished with Sterling shooting high and wide.
A through ball from Milner was just too long for Lallana.
Oh - shame there; Lallana just didn't have the wheels to get on to Milner's ball forward.
How's the week been for you, mate?
Another touch for Hart, who gets a back pass from Bertrand.
It's been a busy week. I'm looking forward to three day weekend. How was the week for you and Kate?
Switzerland have gone 1-0 up over San Marino, predictably, through Michael Lang.
Sterling seems intent on passing to a player in blue for some reason.
Good one; it's our Fall Break, so we've been catching up on some projects. Tomorrow is supposed to be nice so we're going to take a hike and do some leaf peeping.
What took so Lang for the Swiss Cheese to score against the part timers?
Clyne might have used that room a bit better but he rushed it.
I wish you ,and Kate well. Sounds like a great week and a great weekend ahead of you. It's a little cooler here, but still a little too humid for hikes. It should be more conducive to long walks by this time next month.
Now Lallana has a shot deflected over for a corner.
Lallana has a shot deflected for a corner off a short corner.
Oh - Cahill has a header from Lallana's deep corner. No real power or direction on it.
Cahill heads wide off a corner from Lallana. he should have hit the target with that free header.
Congratulations to the Ulstermen on qualifying for their first ever Euros and their first major tournament since the 1986 World Cup.
A dangerous moment there, but they defended their lines well.
A decent spell of possession for the Easterners and Teniche had a shot blocked.
I wonder how many first time qualifiers there will be in next summer's tournament. I think the tournament is padded at 24 teams, but it will be fun to see some new faces there.
Smalling cleared a dangerous cross for a corner to the Easterners
I agree. It has devalued the tournament , but it's great to see some new teams.
East End's first corner is a waste as a foul is called on Vassiliejev
Just wide by Milner from long range after Jaager headed out a decent cross from Bertrand.
Milner's ball was a just a bit overcooked for Kane there. This match needs a goal, eh?
Great ball from Kane to Walcott there but his shot was blocked.
Naughty by Pleat . Dimitriev called for holding and Pleat refers to if as holding hands as if they are brothers
England could definitely do with a goal. We would have expected them to be ahead by this stage of the match
Vasiliev tries one from as far away as the Wembley Tube stop and it's nearly as wide as the corner flag. We should be murdering this lot.
Vassiliev with a shot well wide.
Nice analogy, mate.
Oh - Walcott just wide with his shot in the end there. Nice run but the final shot eluded him.
Theo cuts inside two defenders then skews an effort well wide.
Barkley has a shot deflected for a corner.
Now it's Barkley with a shot from range; deflected out for a corner.
From the corner....Walcott shoots but too late. It just seems as if England strikers are taking to long to get their shots off.
The corner was taken short. Theo had a shot deflected inches wide. Milner shoots just over from the next corner.
And Milner blazes well over from the corner. It's shooting practice for the England boys here.
I am sorry to say that I have to leave the pleasure of your company. My last class is about to begin. It was great chatting . Cheers mate.
Is Smalling really playing as well for ManYoo as Pleat thinks?
The first half is winding down, now. Shame that we haven't struck yet. It would have livened things up.
GOAL! And as I type that, Theo opens the scoring!
1-0!
And that was the last kick of the half. England go in 1-0 up through that tidy Theo finish. Well on the way to their ninth win on the trot then.
England coming back on in sprightly fashion. Gooner will not like to see that Theo is still on. He'd like him wrapped in cotton swaddling for the rest of the match.
Ah - Sterling wastes a good chance there, as he had space to get a good shot off.
This one really should end up 3-0 or 4-0.
Lallana picks up a useful free kick on the edge of the box.
Oh - great short routine with Lallana hitting a shot saved by Aksalu but Kane really should have buried the rebound.
In the other matches, Sweden are 0-1 up to Liechtenstein, Montenegro are 1-0 up over Austria, Belarus are 0-1 up over Slovakia, Slovenia are 1-0 up other Lithuania and Spain are 1-0 up over Luxemburg. A fairly low scoring night.
Oh - Barkley with a strong run and shot. Looked a bit like Gazza there.
Strong run by Clyne but the final ball was lacking. England start over again.
One way traffic this half; Estonia seem to have run out of gas.
Sterling shows Temiste a clean pair of heels but he's errant with his final ball as well.
Barkley seems to be the only one with the gravitas to be able to pick out the killer ball for England.
Smalling seemed to shove Vasiliev over but the ref wasn't bothered. Lucky boy.
Now a chance for England to swing a free kick into the box. Cahill and Smalling coming up.
Clyne tries one from distance, sliced well wide.
The hour mark has come up and England need some changes.
Oh dear - Cahill has fallen heavily in the box and doesn't look good at all.
Elsewhere in Group E, Slovenia lead Lithuania 1-0, while Switzerland are two goals up against scoreless San Marino. Estonia’s already faint hopes of securing a play-off berth look doomed.
That news hasn't seemed to change Estonia's approach, which is still to defend deep and try to hit England on the break. No urgency from them at all.
Estonia make two changes but Woy is still happy with his starting eleven.
Oh - Sterling tries a looping header from a cross by Clyne. Aksalu wasn't fooled by that one.
Pleat is calling for Sterling to be swapped, and I agree.
Woy is sticking The Ox on for Lallana instead. Okay, then.
Theo gets a free kick out wide right. I'd like to see a good cross over here.
Decent ball over but the keeper was always getting there before Cahill.
Oh - Barkley with a brilliant bit of tinkle toes ghosting into the area but Aksalu was equal to his shot.
Oh - another good run by Sterling but his curler was watched wide by Aksalu.
Clyne has been masterful at right back tonight; he's got to be a shoo in at that position now.
Oh - Sterling had two or three bites of the cherry there. Still no joy for him.
First shot from Estonia - Klavan with an attempt well over.
Gooner finally gets his wish with Theo coming off; Leicester's Jamie Vardy coming on. He's the top scorer in the Premiership right now, so why not?
GOAL! Vardy really unselfish there in teeing up Raheem Sterling.
2-0!
That will send the punters home happy, then. It's been a professional outing but not much more than that.
Still, this sort of match is a bit of a hiding to nothing. If they roll over a side like this 5-0, the media usually says, "yeah, but that was....." And if they only win 1-0, that's panned.
Still, England have beaten every side in the group twice. Can't say better than that.
Barkley coming off - MOTM in my view. 19 year old Spurs man Delli Alli coming on.
Sterling wins yet another corner.
Milner with a deep corner that Aksalu - Estonia's best player - handles with aplomb.
Switzerland have thrashed San Marino tonight 6-0, so Estonia's chances are slim.
Into stoppage time, then.
Full-time - "Perfectly adequate," Peter Drury says, and he's not wrong. A thoroughly professional accounting for England. I'm off home now, lads. Cheerio!
Professional?
BLOODY USELESS and BORING
