Lakenheath Old Boys

We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Fat Sam is Out!

Oh - my giddy aunt! It's been an action-packed day at Lancaster Grove, where officials have been meeting with England manager Sam Allardyce about his involvement in illegal third-party ownership schemes. The result is that Allardyce has been shown the door. That's right, chaps - he's one and done. Brian Clough lasted longer at Elland Road!

So, what next for England? There's only a World Cup qualifying campaign to deal with. Who should the FA bring is as the new manager. Your thoughts, gents?

At this point of the Premiership season, I bet the caretaker Gareth Southgate remains at the helm. It's a dead easy group and were it to get dicey, the FA would step in and make their choice a financial offer that they couldn't refuse.

Interesting. Can you imagine Gareth Southgate remaining in charge through much of the qualifying campaign? Or will they reward a few easy wins with a full-time job?
