Chelsea vs Liverpool in a Dreaded Friday Night Match
The Premier League in their infinite wisdom or lack thereof decided to schedule a Friday night Football match, presumable due to a deal with an evil television company. However, it is a blockbuster match between two possible title challengers due to the fact that they do not have the distraction of European Football. It is the first true test for Chelsea since Conte took over. Join me if you can

The big news is that JT is out injured for Chelski and his replacement is a Sideshow , who plays his first match in his second spell at Chelski. Coutinho is in for the injured Firmino for Pool
The teams last met this Summer in the Rose Bowl in the ICC Cup with Chelski winning 1-0 thanks to a goal by Cahill in the fifth minute. Expect an equally cagey affair today
Arlo White is doing the commentary . There is a great atmosphere at SB.
They're off from SB.
Arlo rattles off some stats that basically states that these two teams have started off the season as the two most attacking teams.
Sturridge shoots straight at Courtois , who nearly lets the ball squirm through his body, but he gathered it to avoid embarrassment.
It's end to end stuff early doors.
Fat Sam and one of his stooges is at the match. Are they watching Cahill, who had his pocket picked last Sunday
As I typed , Arlo mentioned the incident and said that Cahill told an the press that Andre MArriner missed a clear. If you believe that then I have some swampland to sell you in the Bayous of Louisiana.
Ivanovic called for a foul on Lallana, who yells bloody murder and Ivanovic has words for him. Foreshadowing?
A dozen minutes in and Costa has yet to touch the ball.
Clyne wins a Pool corner.
The corner from Henderson is headed away by Matic then several passes later a cross is headed away and a long range volley from Henderson is several feet over.
Ivanovic with another foul, this time on Wijnaldum and is told by Martin Atkinson that it's his final warning.,
GOAL !!!!LOVEREN SCORES FROM THE FREE KICK
Coutinho took the free kick short to Milner , who played it back to Coutinho and his cross was shot in by an unmarked Loveren at the far post.
Costa is tackled in a hard, but fair manner, so he has still yet to touch the ball.
Costa finally with a touch of the ball, but he's flagged offside off a pass from the Sideshow.
A really long Pool possession is halted due to the Sideshow having a bloody nose in a clash of heads with Mane. More like head to nose.
Play resumes and Chelsea are temporarily a man down.
Now it's back to 11 vs 11.
Matip wins a corner off a slide rule pass from Wiojnaldum
The corner from Henderson is over cooked and Willian clears then Milner gets a throw and finds Chelsea asleep. Sturridge failed to connect on his pass or else it would have been a two goal lead.
Costa finally has a touch of the ball off a nice pass from Matic , but his cross is straight to Minnie./
Kante shows why he is not a goal scorer. A long range effort lands in Row Q.
The Sideshow made his Chelsea debut in his first spell in a 0-1 defeat to Pool at SB. It's the same for his second debut so far.
Willian has a pass deflected for a corner./
Minnie struggles to punch away after the corner was headed on by the Sideshow. He's bailed out by the ref as Matic is called for a foul.
Naughty by Clyne on Hazard
The Sideshow is flagged offside off the free kick from Willian as he headed straight to Minnie.
GOAL !!! HENDERSON SCORES WITH A SPECTACULAR FINISH TO PUT POOL TWO UP
Lallana failed to trap a throw from Milner and a poor clearance from Cahill landed to Henderson , who shot in the upper 90 from about 30 yards out./
Hazard has a shot blocked for a corner that is headed out for another. The next corner from Willian is cleared then the Sideshow wins a corner.
The next corner is headed well over by the Sideshow at the near post.
Hiya, mate - I'm just home from work in time to catch the last half-hour of this one.
I've just enjoyed reading your first half comments - it sounds as if the Reds are well in control of this one. I'm sure Klopp did some kloppity dancing on the sidelines after those goals went in.
Pool in total control of possession now knocking it about as if they're Barcelona or summit.
That's that for Daniel Sturridge tonight - he trots off as if he's accomplished a lot today.
Bugger - a neighbor has come to the door and I've missed a goal. Chelsea have pegged one back.
Here's the Paul Doyle write up about that Chelsea goal by Diego Costa:
"A bolt from the blue! Matic did brilliantly, showing hitherto unseen nimbleness to jink his way past Lallana to the byline and cut the ball back to Costa, who stabbed the ball into the net at the near post. Suddenly a comeback looks possible!"
Coutinho collects a low cross from the right. He spins and shoots from 16 yards, but Cahill gets in a good block.
Excellent save by Courtois from Origi's header - I thought that was going in!
Coming down to the last few minutes and Conte has thrown on Moses, Pedro and Fabregas for Matic, Willian and Oscar.
Lucas gives up a free kick in a dangerous area by hacking Hazard. He gets a yellow for his trouble, too.
This is the key moment of the match, it seems.
Sideshow seems to have some interest in this one - could be a rocket.
No - Hazard steps up and curls a tame one right into someone's ghoulies.
Three minutes of stoppage time to come...
Liverpool fans start belting out You’ll Never Walk Alone. They are obediently refraining from serenading Jurgen Klopp.
Chelski have a last corner - rubbish ball in and....
It's all over - a superb win for Liverpool and the end of Chelski's perfect start to the season. Citeh are now sitting pretty on top. Diego Costa, however, has moved to the top of the scoring charts temporarily on five goals.
Over and out for me tonight.
Hello Bob. Sorry I couldn't join you for the second half. I went to pick up Elizabeth from the grocery store then rewound the DVR. I look forward to chatting with you tomorrow morning. Cheers!
