Back to the Prem
Where were we before we were so rudely interrupted by the interminable international break? Well, ManYoo are flying, having scored ten goals without conceding any. Arsenal are floundering and there are loud calls for Wenger's head. We start again this morning with a big bang - Liverpool traveling to the Etihad to meet Citeh. That's followed with the usual 10 am GMT kickoffs including Arsenal v. Bournemouth. Then we end with United at Stoke. I'll also have an eye on my Leeds boys who are hosting Burton Albion at Elland Road. Join me for all the action here on the LOB.

Good morning, Bob. It's great to join you for the return of Prem action. Off to get some coffee.
Morning, mate. Looks as if I just beat you to the punch. Same title, too! Great minds think alike. How are you, mate?
This could be a cracker. Can you feel the crackle of anticipation? Oh yes, and that’s because after a week of international football, the Premier League is back, back, back! And with a rollicking end-to-end goalfest if previous recent meetings between last season’s third and fourth-placed teams are anything to go by. It’s on!
Levante have taken the lead at the Bernabeu.
I'm doing well after taking the day off yesterday. Agreed that we could have a cracker today and it's great to be back after the international break.
It was nice to have a four-day week this week; went by in a flash.
The teams now gathering in the tunnel at the Etihad:
Manchester City: Ederson, Danilo, Stones, Otamendi, Fernandinho, Walker, De Bruyne, David Silva, Mendy, Aguero, Gabriel Jesus. Subs: Bravo, Gundogan, Mangala, Delph, Sane, Bernardo Silva, Foden.
Liverpool: Mignolet, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Klavan, Moreno, Can, Henderson, Wijnaldum, Salah, Firmino, Mane.
Subs: Karius, Lovren, Milner, Gomez, Sturridge, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Solanke.
Referee: Jon Moss (W Yorkshire).
How have you and Kate been?
Richard Burton Albion pays a visit to ER. Hopefully they play like Liz Taylor.
We're doing just fine. Having a nice, quiet weekend, while the remnants of Harvey blow through town. It feels like fall.
I'm quite excited to see how Leeds come back from the international break. We've been flying on the road but have found Elland Road to be a hard place to play. I'm hoping we get back to winning ways on the hallowed turf.
Morning Boys
Good to be back
We got some rain from the norther most feeder band of Katia yesterday.
Good morning, UWS. How was your first week of school?
I have the cricket on the computer and the footer on the TV
I love that new website I found... I will be watching Final Score for the second half
They're off from the Etihad.
This is a match between the two teams my brothers support. They will probably be focused on Irma instead of the match
Wahay - we're away at the Etihad!
Morning, UWS - great to have you back!
Moreno has a shot blocked for a corner off of early Pool pressure.
Not sure who I want to win this...nobody I guess
Ederson catches the corner.
I hope that your Florida family is taking appropriate caution. Irma looks like the real deal in terms of hurricanes.
A draw is probably the best result for you lot, no?
Is it possible for both teams to lose? One of my bruvs may be watching despite preparing for Irma.
Cheers, mate. Neither is evacuating , stating that they feel they will be better off riding it out in the long run.
Agreed. A draw would be best, but it's too early in the season to tell.
Otamendi upends Mo Salah right on the edge of the box and Pool have a tasty free kick chance. Yellow for Otamendi.
Otamendi fouls Mo Salah, just outside the Citeh box after a nice solo run and is booked for that
Liverpool look the better side
A horrible free kick from Moreno goes into the wall then a cross from Trent Alexander- Arnold is headed away.
Ginger Winger ties a pop but it's easily dealt with by Minnie.
Minnie easily saves a long range effort from fellow Belgian , De Bruyne.
A nice cut and thrust to this match so far. Matip gives up a corner to Citeh.
Talking about Belgium. Roberto's Belgium have already qualified for the World Cup Finals.
Lucas Vazquez ties it up for Real vs Levante.
Were you all surprised that the Tigers were rammed yesterday. Bob's mate , Bradley Johnson, had a brace. The Tigers must have looked like Brad Majors and a performance out of the Rocky Horror Show.
Alex-Arnie fluffs a backpass to Minnie and it's now another corner for Citeh.
A back pass that looked like something from Yours Truly, but from Alexander-Arnold, out for a Citeh corner.A horrible corner from Silva was more like that from Phil Silvas.
I am surprised by that result. I had Hull at there or thereabouts.
A surprising result indeed.
It might have been all different. Hull missed a penalty at 1-0
Decent strike on the floor by Fernandinho, tipped around by Minnie. He's been the busier keeper so far.
Minnie does well tot turn around a long range effort from Ferandinho.
I guess a draw is what we want... A win for either would knock United off the perch
Oh - Firmino was in there but he seemed surprised about it and missed his chance.
An interesting piece of trivia . Paul Buckle's Sacramento Republic FC Visit our neck of the wood this evening. Anybody heard of him ?
It's 1-1 at the half between real and Levante.
I don't think so - who is he, MUR?
A bit of a lull in the match now.
He's Becky Lowe's husband.
Alex-Ernie gets a yellow for a tug back on Ginger.
Never even heard of him!!!
I just looked him up.
He's played THIRTEEN teams!
Best of them is Brentford!
Managed Torquay, Bristol R, Luton and Cheltenham
Interesting.
Trent Alexander- Arnold concedes a free kick just outside the Pool Box. Taken by De Bruyne and headed away
Oh - Salah does really well to run down the wing and get into a shooting position. Disappointing in the end. Straight at the keeper.
That was a great run by Salah but he ends his run like Sterling
CLUELESS
Agreed, UWS. The textbook definition of a journeyman. His wife is the celebrity in the family. She's in the NBC studio while he';s going to be at hot and humid HEB Park.
A quarter of the match gone now and United fans have to be fairly happy with the even proceedings.
Sterling will be extremely disappointed to not be able to play against his old mates.
Mane wins a corner off of Stones.
Bolton-Boro at 10 and Wed-Forest at 12:30 on ESPN3
A miss hit shot from Hendo off the corner is headed on and the offside flag is raised.
Journeyman is right. The missus is obviously based out of LA, while he's trekking up to Sacramento for training? How does that work?
GOAL! Aguero strikes just went the match had gone into a lull!
ONE NIL CITY
So wide open at the back!!
He just ran wide open
GOAL !!!AGUERO GIVES CITEH THE LEAD AGAINST THE RUN OF PLAY
Simple really. Through ball from Ginger that split the defense in half. Aguero ran onto it and rounded Minnie to slot home.
1-0!
Overtakes Yorkie as the top foreign scorer in the Premier League
It was a goal out of the bluer. A long clearance from Minnie resulted in a bout of head tennis. Ten A slide rule pass from De Bruyne caught the Pool defense square and Aguero easily rounded Minnie to score.
Fernandinho fouls Mane in the Citeh D and is booked for that
Mane is tripped right on the edge of the box and Fernandinho will go into the book when he gets up off the turf.
Oh - I thought that shot by Can was going straight in. Didn't curve enough.
The result is that Pool Can NOT score from the free kick as it is horribly wide.
Great Anoraking ,UWS. A shame that a Citeh player overtook a United player for the record.
Impressive pun spinning for 7am in the morning, mate. Kudos!
Salah misses another one!!
Oh - Salah was nearly in there. Liverpool do look threatening when they attack. How is The Ox going to get into this side?
Ederson does well to save from Salah, but he should have tied it up.
Unfortunately it works out a little too well as his Sacramento Republic thrashed us 6-2 this Summer for our record defeat.
Lovely curling Beckham like cross there from Hendo....to no one.
In L2 Jayne Mansfield is hosting Mr. Grimsby. It's still scoreless , but I guess we need to give them some time to get warmed up.
Yes, but is Rebecca happy to change the nappies while he's off galavanting about the A League circuit?
Minnie blocks from Jesus for a corner after a horrible defensive error from Klaven
Then MInnie with a great kick save off the corner.
It's the USL, which is basically the same thing , but you're spot on. She's definitely the bread winner.
Mane and Ederson have a huge clash and Mane has been sent off!!!
That was harsh on Mane - he had to go for that one, didn't he?
WOW !!!! Mane OH Mane as he receives a card the same color as his jersey as he was through and barged into Ederson , who was sweeper keeping.
Klopp doesn't look happy about that decision at all.
Agreed. I guess John Moss sent him off for the high boot, but as you stated , he was going for the ball. Probably worthy of a yellow at the most.
City keeper down for the count
Liverpool down a man!!
I didn't see it but Mane is off... he'll be out for three which is good!!
I've seen players catch others with a high boot accidentally in the past and get yellows (or nothing). That seems harsh.
Ederson is still down , so it may be more serious than we first anticipated. Perhaps a red was the right call.
I missed it when it happened
His foot was high but the keeper's head was low
Jon Moss is having a word with Klopp, who is losing his mind on the sideline.
Now John Moss is in conversation with Jurgen , who is not Klopping about that decision.
Claudio Bravo getting ready to come on then after this long break.
Some crowd trouble now behind the goal apparently.
I hate that all these red cards... it should be less of a norm
I know he's hurt but not a red for me
Claudio Bravo on for the seriously injured Ederson.
Agreed, UWS. Some red cards are valid, but a yellow would have been more appropriate for that challenge.
It looks like seven to eight minutes of stoppage time.
Ederson is finally being carried off after a very lengthy disruption.
Applause as Ederson is stretchered off and Bravo will be on as his replacement.
Eight is enough minutes of stoppage time.
Play resumes.
Citeh now laying siege on the Liverpool goal, looking for another goal before the interval.
And they seemed to have it through Gabby Jesus, but he's flagged offside.
Walker wins a corner off a diagonal pass from Mendy . The corner is taken short and Jesus has a goal disallowed for offside.
GOAL! This time Gabby Jesus has his headed goal!!!
GOAL !!! JESUS PUTS CITEH TWO UP.
Lovely ball in there and Jesus only had to nod home.
2-0 Citeh!
So both teams will be playing a man down
Pool will play without Mane and City will play with Bravo
Two nil!!
Missed it
Liverpool are desperate to hear the half time whistle. They can’t get hold of the ball.
It was a Barca style Tiki Taka possession from Citeh, then De Bruyne was set free down the left. He dummied Alexander-Arnold then put in a cross that was headed in by Jesus.
It's halftime as Citeh are a man up, but two goals up.
I have my brother-in-law this weekend. He's going to make me turn it over to the weather channel...he has a condo in For Lauderdale.
That's why I have been sporadic
Our viewing pleasure for the 3 o'clockers are Arsenal v Bournemouth on NBCSN and Everton v Spurs on CNBC
I miss all of them being available
There will be a game that United won't be on!
My coaching of Siena will make me miss a few games. I think I have a game during the United Everton match
The ox is on for Mo Salah for his Pool debut as the second half is underway
I have lost the TV remote!
Wishing the best for your brother-in-law. As someone who has family in Florida, I know what it's like wondering about the safety and well being of our loved ones.
OUCH!!!! I know how frustrating that can be. Hopefully, everything works out.
I'm with you on the selections. The Loss of Premier League Extra time has really lessened the choices.
Jayne on top of Mr. Grimsby in the first half.
Firmino tackled by Gall Stones for a corner.
Back for the second half with my brekkies. I don't actually see how Pool can get back into this one.
Love to see Pool get a goal back and make this interesting
What's on the menu? Yesterday was Denny's and this morning Danish Cheesecake pastry.
Ball in the net again but offside
I don't think Aguero agrees
Aguero has a goal disallowed for offside/
Aguero thinks he has his brace. Called offside.
But now Citeh do have their third goal, through Gabby Jesus!
3-0!
It is three nil
Aguero was not greedy there
Klavan and Matip are all at sea again. Simple through ball to Aguero who dinked to Jesus to score his brace. Game over!
GOAL !!!! THEN AGUERO BEATS THE OFFSIDE TRAP OFF A NICE THROUGH BALL THEN UNSELFISHLY LAYS IT OFF FOR JESUS FOR AN EASY TAP IN.
This score is wiping out Liverpool's four goal haul from last week
Does a rolling stone gather moss? Jurgen Klopp probably disagrees, but was the decision right on the Mane?
All one-way traffic now.
Minnie easily saves a shot from Mendy from a narrow angle as Pool were dissected by the one touch passing of Citeh.
City's GD is still 4 worse than United
Jesus will not get a hat-trick as he's replaced by Sane.
Why take Jesus off now before he has a chance to score his hat-trick? I don't get it. Leroy Sane on.
Hopefully , it will stay that way.
The boos indicate that Jamie Milner is coming on. Not very friendly.
Boos for the former LUFC Academy and Citeh player as he's on for Wijnaldum. Bob will not be pleased with that behavior.
England just got their seventh wicket
Windies leading by 84 with only 3 wickets left
England should be able to win the decider
NOCITO SPORTSCENTER AT WORK!
That is an interesting point. In his last match for the Arsenal The Ox was on the end of a 4-0 battering by Liverpool. Now he's gone to Liverpool and they could easily be on the end of a 4-0 (or worse) mauling.
Who's winning at the tiddlywinks, mate? ;-)
Sounds like playing the Ox is no longer a sound decision.
Liverpool can’t get out of their own half. The home crowd are enjoying this.
England have a decent chance as long as there are not any LBW's
Agreed. The Reds have already been pushed back to Wigan !
A REAL surprise as Real have been held 1-1 by Levante at the Bernabeu. That's a final score.
So Citeh will take a temporary lead at the top of the table, on 10 points from 4 matches. They've also improved their GD to +6. But all United have to do is beat Stoke today and they're back on top.
De Buyne should have put Citeh four up off a pass from Sane, but leaned back and his shot landed in Row H.
Jayne on top of Mr. Grimsby at the half.
City with more of the sterile keep-ball. Liverpool will take this, in the hope of avoiding a cricket-score thrashing.
Solanke on for Firmino .
Definitely a sticky wicket for Klopp's players.
That's four points dropped in two games!!
That was the final roll of the dice for Klopp.
Like for like as Mancala is on for Otamendi.
Oh - Matip with nearly a cracking own goal there. Minnie saved his blushes.
A superb reflex save from Minnie as Matip diverted a Citeh cross.
This one feels like it's been over for a while now.
Agreed. Both teams waiting for the final whistle.
4 nil
GOAL! Sane pops in Citeh's fourth goal!
GOAL !!!! SANE PUTS CITEH FOUR UP.
Second Top Six match of the season
Second 4 niller!!
Another great through ball from Ginger to Sane who fed Mendy on the left. Great ball in and tidy finish. Easy.
4-0!
It was a nice pass from De Bruyne to Sane, who played a one two with Mendy then easily finished past the stranded Minnie,
Both matches the Ox is on the losing side.
Jayne two up vs Grimsby.
I am not an Ox fan at all
I don't rate him!
Emre Can picks up a needless yellow card at this stage.
He Can NOT get away with those types of fouls on Aguero and is booked for that
I don't either. I think Arsenal did some good business getting rid of him for £40 million.
Fred will be hoping to see the Evil Blades put to the sword at the SOL. Bob probably agrees with Fred.
Arsene put his economics degree to great use.
He was useless for England... some his decision making, passing and final product was hopeless!!
Pretty much everything
Ninth wicket down
Windies lead by 106
Day 3 at Lords... Bob and I had some fun days there!
David Gower hit a four and it came right into Bob's lap. He tossed it to me... I tossed it to Dennis Lillie
Remember the time we went to the Oval Bob? We went with Mr and Mrs Hunter.
Joel didn't want to go so his dad said he had to mow the lawn
Bob and I made a banner that we held up... Joel Mow the Lawn!
Elizabeth said I should be an Uber and Lyft driver when I retire. Should we give the Ox a Lyft?
Nice save by Minnie
Oh - Minnie saves Pool's blushes again - nearly 5-0.
OH!!!! Minnie with a superb save from Aguero to prevent Citeh going five up.
I do remember that trip well. Lovely day out at the Oval.
LOL!!!! What if he mowed the lawns at the oval and Lords? Nice catch, Bob!
Don't want City to get any more
Sounds like England were playing more like Traci Lords that day
Do you remember the Lords touching of the match ball!!
Ederson on the Citeh bench with stitches in his cheek.A good sign if he made it to the banch
Why was Ederson laughing at the Liverpool performance.?
Two added minutes...just blow up now
Only a pair of minutes of stoppage time.
Bugger... Five
Oh, what a lovely strike from Sane!!!
5-0!
GOAL !!!SANE WITH HIS SECOND OF THE BENCH AS CITEH GO FIVE UP.
Nice left footed curler from just outside the box.
