We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

The Championship Season Begins!

The EFL Championship season kicks off this evening. Every season brings a sense of hope for fans. With a new high-profile manager and several key signings this summer, my beloved Leeds are poised to make a big push for promotion. Of course, fans of many other clubs in this highly-competitive league will feel the same way. It should be a fascinating season to watch.

I've enjoying the BBC Football Daily podcast today, which features a preview of the Championship season with new Derby boss Frankie Lampard.

I'm disgusted to see that all of the Championship coverage has gone to ESPN+, the network's pay service. I'm not biting. I'll be looking for dodgy links for the Championship matches.

The season starts this afternoon with Reading v. Derby at 3pm EST.

Just saw that all the goals were in the second half. A nice come from behind win with a last gasp winner on the road. A nice start for Lamps.
