A North London Carabao Cup Derby
It's a big night in the League Cup tonight, with a massive North London Derby on tap. On offer for the victors is a semi-final match up with Burton Albion, Citeh or Chelsea/Bournemouth. I'll be in the office buzzing about this afternoon, but I should be able to check in from time to time. Join me if you've got the chance.

Afternoon, chaps! This competition may not be top priority for Spurs or Arsenal but neither should sniff at it, especially now that they’ve been pitted against each other. Both managers - and both sets of fans - are likely to stress that to their players even if they do deploy less-than-optimal lineups. Because winning things is fun.
Well, well, well - both managers have opted for what look like close to full-strength sides. Here they are:
Arsenal: Cech; Maitland-NIles, Sokratis, Xhaka, Monreal; Guendouzi, Torreira; Mkhitaryan, Ramsey, Iwobi; Aubameyang
Subs: Martinez, Koscielny. Lichtsteiner, Elneny, Willock, Lacazette, Nketiah
Spurs: Gazzaniga; Trippier, Alderweireld, Davies, Rose; Winks, Sissoko; Eriksen, Alli, Lucas; Son.
Subs: Vorm, Foyth, Walker-Peters, Skipp, Lamela, Llorente, Kane
Referee: J Moss
Wahay - The ESPN+ coverage is starting up.
We're away at the Emirates, then. Both sides properly attired.
Oh - an early corner goes straight across the six yard box from a Miki header on. Monreal was inches away.
Oh - Ramsey with a sharp shot just wide of the mark from an angle.
A quarter of an hour in and still scoreless. Arsenal have had the chances but Spurs are starting to grow into the match.
Good Afternoon, Bob. Here to join you for the North London Derby. Student s have finished Semester exams and have gone home for the day
There were two League Cup Quarterfinals yesterday:
Citeh defeated the Foxes 3-1 on pens after a 1-1 draw and Richard Burton is in the semis after a shock 0-1 win at the Riverside
GOAL! Son has raced through from what seemed like an offside position and opened the scoring for Spurs.
GOAL !!!! NUMBER ONE SON GIVES THE SPUDS THE LEAD. bEAT THE OFFSIDE TRAP HAVING BEEN PUT THROUGH BY DELLE SANDWICH AFTER LUCAS MORA WON A HEADER OFF A LONG PUNT FROM GAZANIGA. GREAT FINISH PAST CECH
Welcome, MUR - great timing on your part, although I'm sure that Gooner would disagree.
The Gunners sure were caught out by that long punt from Gazaniga
Thanks, Bob. Great to join you. I'm sure there's curing in the streets of Alex unless he's thinking of another North London derby comeback
Still 0-0 between Chelski and the Cherries.
Ramsey trips Trippier and is none too pleased at being called for a foul.
Aubama drags a shot wide off a pass from Hair Bear 2.0 after Iwobi was tackled./
Miki wins a corner off of Ben Davies off a pass from Maitland-Niles.
Indeed - plenty of cursing in Northern VA this afternoon.
Oh - great break from Spurs but Sissoko blew his chance in the end.
Gazaniga flaps at the corner, but the Spuds counter and Eriksen goes on a solo run. Several one touch passes then Cissy has a shot land in Row P from 25 yards out off a pass from Eriksen
Meanwhile Lucas Mora down for Mora treatment.
Miki down too as the two must have clashed . Play finally resumes.
I just got home from the park... took the day off today
I'll be joining after I get up the link
I might put up the Chelsea one too
Way hay...I have both matches going strong and LOB
Celtic two up vs Motherwell while Rangers drawing 0-0 at Hibs. That puts Celtic top , one point ahead of Rangers and two points ahead of Killie
Good afternoon, UWS. Glad you are having an enjoyable day off. One more day of teaching here before vacation starts.
Ramsey has a powerful effort pushed away by Gazaniga off a pass from Iwobi. Pushed on t the post then cleared for a corber.
Still 0-0 at SB.
Lucas Mora miss kicks a cross from Hair Bear 2.0 for a Gunners corner.
Corner taken short and a cross from Torreira is headed wide by the philosophical Sokratis.
It's 0-0 at the half at SB. A pair of stoppage time minutes at the EM
Goalless at haft time at the Bridge
Hair Bear 2.0 deservedly booked for a trip from behind on Lucas Mora.
John Moss blows for halftime as the Spuds are one up at the EM thanks to a goal from Number One Son that started off a long punt from reserve keeper, Gazzaniga.
Peep peep! That's half-time, then. I'm off home, mate. I probably won't be able to watch the second half, but enjoy it.
Ht at the EM
I am back 30 seconds late for the second half
Back for the second half after running some scantrons through the scantron machine and a trip to the loo.
Doing better than me . More like seven minutes late!
Stupid foul by Aubama on LUFC Academy's Danny Rose just outside the Gunner's box.
Cech pushes around the free kick from Eriksen that was actually headed wide. Fortunately for Cech and the Gunners , the Spuds fail to capitalize from the corner.
Nice pass by Eriksen for Number One Son, but his pass was dragged back to Cech
Just posted something on LOB
Cissy called for a trip from behind on Aubama just outside the Spuds box.
Love to see Chelsea get knocked out at this point
Of course, City will draw Richard Burton
Will Cech it out
hopeless free kick there
Kane going to come on for more than half an hour
The match goes straight to penalties with no extra time
Kane plays in the League Cup for the first time since 2015
The Gazette comes on too
Both teams bringing on their starting strikers . Harry Kane and Able to score on for Lucas Mora . I missed the Gunners substitution, but read Lacazette and read that Iwobi was replaced.
Dele Alli doubles Spurs lead
He was wide open on the break... great finish
Kane set it up... with his first touch?
GOAL !!! DELLE ALLLI DELIVERS THE KNOCKOUT PUNCH WITH ANOTHER SPUDS GOAL OFF A LONG CLEARANCE FROM GAZZANIGA. . HIS CLEARANCE WAS CHESTEED BY hARRY KANE AS HE WAS ABLE TO PUT THROUGH DELLE ALLI AND HE CHIPPED THE ON RUSHING CECH TO PUT THE SPUDS TWO UP
The Gazette hits the outside of the post
While I was typing I missed a Gunner's chance, but read Lacazette and read that a pass from Aubama that clipped the outside of the post.
Spurs haven't won at the Em since 2010..2-3
I think it was Kane's first touch . Just seconds after coming on. as Harry Kane and Able to make an immediate impact.
WOW ! What a way to end that drought!
Ramsey has a shot come off the LUFC academy for a Gunner's corner off a pass from Torreira.
Corner from Xakha Khan headed away
Arsenal with a corner ...doesn't beat the front post.... so pathetic modern day footballers
Spurs don't want to get the ball in the box
Nice OGS lyrics, but will need to look at the history lesson and parting shot when I get home.
Chelsea outshooting Bournemouth 19 to 5
Still nil nil
The Spuds may have forgotten about that Gunners comeback a few weeks ago.
Gotta watch the OSG vid... EXACTLY what I say!!
Celtic three up vs Motherwell and are top, one point ahead of Rangers , who are 0-0 at Hibs
The real chant is slightly ruder than mine
They sing about Shearer being f-ing dearer
I will do that when I get home and will let you know how enjoyable it is.
Sounds a tad ruder.
Will Chelsea regret those missed chances?
Emery must be feeling board with this Gunner's performance.
Since I have been watching both matches, Chelsea aren't at them all the time
Bournemouth want a pen... they want a handball. Going to VAR... not given
Bournemouth make a few chances
Dele showing the score to the fans
Kane says knock it off
Some idiot has hit Delle Alli with an object. He responds by showing Gunner's fans the score.
He really needs to grow up... he doesn't need to be such a punk
Thanks for the update.Headed to ET at SB?
Arse want a foul...nothing given
Agreed. Really childish. Understandable that he's upset, but his response is ridiculous.
Aubama with a miss hit cross that comes off the bar.
ooh, cross gets sliced and it goes onto the crossbar
Spurs survive
Xakha Khan none too pleased about being called for hand ball off a pass from Eriksen . He sings himself into the book
Lamela on for Number One Son
Son... I like him as a player... being replace to Lamella
Under ten to go at the Bridge
Just over ten to go at the Em
Maitland -Niles down as he ran into Cissy. Is able to continue.
Hazard have given Chelsea the lead
A deflected effort... 7 minutes left
scrappy goal.
Ok, lets have Chelsea play City
Spurs play Burton
Wonder when the draw is?
Maitland -Niles down , holding his shin and looks like he's unable to continue. The Gunners have made all three of their substitutions.
Powerful long range effort from Eriksen straight to Cech, but fisted over.
The draw is tonight right after these matches... I really don't want City to get Burton...you know they will
Hazard gives Chelsea a late lead vs the Cherries.
Thanks for the update.Wouldn't be surprised if Citeh do.
Dele Alli being a punk again... in the book
Just play
Delle Alli booked for time wasting.
He's definitely acting childish
Gunners fans headed for the exits
4 added minutes in West London
Under 3 to go plus stoppage time in North London
Bournemouth could have created a chance there but they were bloody modern and didn't shoot!!!!!!
MORONIC
Arsenal play at Anfield on the Dec 29
A quartet of stoppage time minutes at the EM
4 added minutes at the Em

Nothing given
Last chance for Bournemouth.... Keeper comes up for a free kick...last chance saloon...mad scramble...shots blocked....Cleared.....it is overChelsea are in the semi finals
They beat Bournemouth with a very jammy goal
Eriksen booked for time wasting
That goal proved to be a real Hazard to the Cherries.
