An Intriguing Saturday in the Prem
What an intriguing Saturday we have ahead of us. We start at the Etihad with Citeh trying to bounce back from their loss to Chelski last week. Everton are a tricky side to play at this point, with Richarlison scoring bucketsful for them. Then at 10am, there are a load of Premiership fixtures, but I'll be focused on Bolton v. Leeds on the Plus. We finish things off with the relegation strugglers' dogfight between Newcastle and Fulham. Join me for all the fun, won't you?

Good Morning, Bob. Up to join you for the Prem action. How have you been?
They're off from a Chilly etihad .
Morning, MUR - great to have you on board. I've had a good last week of classes this week. Now it's just Finals before we head off for the break.
It's unseasonably warm here - in the 40s.
Lots of Silvas. David and Weekend on the pitch for Citeh while Marco is the gaffer for the Toffees.
Citeh off to a quick start but Everton clear out.
We have Semester Exams this week as well. It was in the 80s on Thursday and the 60s yesterday. It's supposed to be in the low 70s the rest of this week, which is about average for December.
Oh - a good chance there for Calvert-Lewin!
He's flagged offside but that will put the frighteners on Citeh.
great save by Eederson from Calvert-Lewin, who was flagged offside.
Pep sporting a ridiculous outfit, with a silly blue Citeh bobble hat to keep his head warm.
Just posted a picture of our blogging buddy on FB. He's feeling confident about the match vs Bristol Rovers and that's not idle gossip.
Citeh being patient in their passing game but Everton are being resolute so far.
I thought you were emulating his sense of fashion with a cardigan, LOL!
Fred's looking sprightly for so early in the morning, central time.
I'm fine with a cardigan; just not a "Jardigan."
BOOM BOOM! Nice reply.
It's getting tougher for Everton to get anything going. The ball just keeps coming back at them.
He just ate brekkies and is up purring. He's still awake.
Donny Trump is two up vs Scunny.
UWS will be pleased that Light blue and royal blue do not clash. Just a change of shorts for the Toffees.
Just like last week - but Citeh will hope for a different result.
Oh - Richarlison had a real chance there. But blasted the volley over. It was awkward - a bit too high for the volley and a bit too low for a diving header.
That was a great chance for the Toffees. great cross by Lucas Digne and Rich Arlison volleys well over from ten yards out with just his fellow Brazi keeper to beat.
Fab Delph tries a potshot from range. Nothing doing.
Nice long ball from Pickford to Digne and his cross had just too much mustard for Coleman
The Toffees have had some sustained spells of possession, which is unusual against Citeh
Yes, they'll be the happier side with proceedings so far. Everton have had the more clear cut chances.
Stupid foul by Digne on Mahrez as he was caught out of position , Nice pass from Fernandinho.
But now Citeh have a free kick chance....
Digne booked for that
Short free kick blocked then Delph just over from about 25 yards out.
Mahrez with a blocked shot from the free kick and then Delph with a blast over the top.
Oh - great save by Pickers after Gabby Jesus got a nick on the cross.
Great save by Picks from Jesus off a cross from Gundy.
Digne clears the corner for another then the corner from Gundogan is headed well over.
GOAL! Now Gabby Jesus does comes good!
GOAL !!!JESUS GIVES CITEH THE LEAD. OFF THE ENSUING POSSESSION GUNDOGAN PAST TO SANE, WHO PUT THROUGH JESUS AND HE PLACED A SHOT IN THE CORNER PAST THE ON RUSHING PICKORD.
Mina coughed up the ball to easily and Citeh just ran it back in, leaving Gabby with a great chance to slot home.
1-0 Citizens.
What response does Marco Silva have now?
Picks will not feel that it was the pick of the defending from the Toffees as he picked the ball out of the back of the net.
Will Marco see a Silva lining for the Toffees or will he feel more like he's on De Marco Island?
It was the first real break down of the Everton defense but they got killed for it. Pickers didn't have much of a chance.
Sounds like the under soil heating will need to be used as freezing rain is in the forecast according to Peter Dreary
Better there than here.
A cross from Delph is Zoumed out for a Citeh corner.
I'm off to wake up the missus. Back in a tick.
The corner from Jesus is fisted away by Pickford then a cross is headed wide from La Porte to La Porte.
Cheers, mate. Hope all is well.
Free kick to the Toffees . Taken long by Digne and headed away by Otamendi.
Ederson felt the mustard off the cross from Coleman as he had to fist it away
Beranard pulls back Bernie during a weekend as Citeh win a free kick.
I'm back. Citeh have really only had that one chance and Gabby took advantage of it. Otherwise, Everton's defense has shut them down.
Great ball to Sane but he dithered on it rather than crossing early. Deflected shot out for a corner.
sane drives a shot as it's Zoumaed out for a corner .
Keane clears for another Citeh corner.
The corner from Gundogan headed out then Craig Pawson stops play as Rich Arlison holds his head
Superb reflex save by Picks from MAhrez as a blocked shot from Gundy broke to Mahrez.
That was the pick of the saves from Picks, mate!
Great save by Pickers from Mahrez's shot.
Gabby has the ball in the net again but he's ruled offside.
Superb run and nice through ball from Mahrez to Jesus, who has a goal disallowed for offside. Nice combo play with Sane.
Yery Mina playing m,ore like Mina Bird in the Toffees defense today.
Into stoppage time. A minute of that.
Bernie flagged offside this weekend,.
I'm off to fix my bagel for brekkies. You?
Citeh are one up at the half despite complete domination. The Toffees are still in this match
Off for some high protein Special K. Enjoy the bagels.
Back for the second half in this Blue's Clues contest
GOAL !!!JESUS WITH HIS AND CITEH'S SECOND WITH A THUMPING HEADER OFF A GREAT CROSS FROM SANE OFF A LONG SPELL OF POSSESSION. A CROSS FROM KYLE WALKER WAS HEADED OUT AND FERNANDINHO PLAYED THE BALL WIDE LEFT FOR SANE TO PUT IN THAT GREAT CROSS.
Just back in time to see Gabby get his brace. That's probably game over.
La Porte down off a foul from Siggy. it looks rather serious.
Despite scoring a brace, Pep is letting Jesus have it.
That's a problem for Pep - La Porte has been a standout for Citeh this season.
La Porte back up and seems able to continue.
Kyle Walker wins a corner off of Digne.
Theo and Ade Lookman about to come on. Attacking moves by Marco , who is hoping these changes are a Silva lining for the Toffees.
La Porte seems to be able to continue, but Coleman is making way for Theo for Everton.
Theo on for Coleman, which hopefully cuts the mustard and Ade Lookman on for Bernard. Attacking switches. It looks like a 4-4-2 for the Toffees.
Little kidder with a hot choc on a very chilly day.
Oh - Gundogan and Gabby nearly combine for a third.
Gundogan slides in as his shot goes just wide off a pass from Jesus.
Elizabeth and Jacquelyn like hot chocolate on a chilly day. A chilly morning, but it's supposed to warm up as the day progresses.
Raheem Sterling about to come on for Citeh.
Wahay! Calvert Lewin get one back? Is Desmond outside the Etihad looking to get in?
GOAL !!!CALVERT-LEWIN HEADS IN A CROSS FOR THE TOFFEES. NOW 2-1 AND WE HAVE A MATCH!
Citeh given a taste of their own medicine as they were caught on the break. It started with Andre Gomes Addams , who passed to Siggy, who passed to Lookmna, who passed to Rich Arlison. His pass was cut out and broke to Digne as his cross resulted in a well placed header by Calvert-Lewin
Now Everton have the momentum on their side!
GOAL! Sterling with a third!
BUGGER! STERLING SCORES MINUTES AFTER COMING OFF THE BENCH TO MAKE IT 3-1 CITEH.
I was about to say that the game had really opened up and that the next goal would settle it - now we know!
Oh - Richarlison should have scored there!
High and wide by Rich Arlison off a pass from Lookman
If Richarlison had scored that brace in either half, we'd have a different match.
Sterling benefited from some Brazi combo play. Ederson caught a cross from Lookman and tossed the ball to Fernadinho. He played a couple of one twos with Jesus then crossed for Sterling , who scored with a free header.
No let up for Everton - it's the Ginger Winger coming on for his first Prem appearance of the season after injury.
Agreed, mate. KDB about to come on for Citeh
Now it's Theo who misses a big chance. Everton could be leading here if they hadn't been so profligate.
KDB on for MAhrez.
Gundogan fouled and Citeh players none too pleased. A storm in a teapot?
Bookings for Delph and Calvert-Lewin, the two Yorkshire lads.,
High and wide by Lookman after going past two Citeh players
Siggy comes off after a quiet day. Tom Davies on for him.
The final roll of the dice from Marco Silva as Tom Daves is on for Siggy.
Easy save by Ederson off a back heeled volley from Calvert-Lewin off a cross from Theo.
Oh - lovely little flicked attempt on goal by Calvert-Lewin but Ederson was behind it. Everton will be really disappointed that they didn't get at least a draw out of it.
Donny Trump three up vs Scunny as they enter stoppage time.
It's over as Donny Trump has defeated Scunny 3-0
Rich Arlison with a shot deflected for a corner after Gundy had his pocket picked by Lookman. First corner of the match for the Toffees.
The corner from Digne is headed wide by Calvert-Lewin and in typically Colombian fashion, Yery Mina tries to start a fight,m but nothing comes of it.
Phil Foden about to get his requisite stoppage time run-out.
Into stoppage time as the Toffees win another corner. A quartet of those minutes
Poor corner cleared by the first man. Now Citeh break. Great sweeper keeping by Picks.
Citeh will go to the top again ahead of the big one tomorrow between United and Liverpool.
Lookman fouled and it appears that Phil Foden will not appear for his typical late cameo.
Really late set piece for the Toffees.
And that's the final whistle. The score-line is deceptive, as Everton could easily have got something. The misses mean that they lose badly.
Free kick fisted away and a comfortable 3-1 win for Citeh , who are back on top ahead of the biggie at Anfield tomorrow.
Next up is the big one - Leeds traveling to Bolton looking for three more points.
Tunnel action at Shite Fart Lane now on the NBC Sports.
Hey Boys
I am here for a bit.
Just tuning in the Bolton/Leeds
COME ON LEEDS!
It's started....lovely bubbly
Don't be calling Wembley Shite Hart Lane!!
I want Spurs to win the league instead of City or Liverpool!!!
Like Leeds proper yellow and blue changed strip
Wahay! The coverage has started on the Plus.
Back for the 10 AM matches. The Spuds vs Burnley on NBCSN and Bolton vs Leeds on ESPN Plus
Arsenal are on GOLD tomorrow... Steve is probably really annoyed with NBC this season
Lewis Baker, on loan from Chelsea is a Pre Saiz replacement for a traitor on his way to signing for Getafe. Bob will not be pleased.
They're off from Wembley
The Leeds starting XI: Peacock-Farrell, Shackleton, Phillips, Jansson, Douglass, Forshaw, Pablo, Baker, Klich, Alioski, Roofe.
Good morning UWS. Steve is problebly feeling that way
They're off from Not lob. MOT!
Bob probably not pleased with Saiz jumping ship.
For some reason we haven't kicked off yet at the Reebok. Here we go, then. Leeds in the new yellow and blue away kit. Quite like it.
Come on, you Leeds!
What was the news about Saiz - I didn't hear it.
Motherwell in the lead at St. Johnny as are the Shrews vs the Posh
QPR take an early lead vs Boro
He's finalizing a deal to Getafe, which is why he's not in the lineup.
ooh.... Leeds go close!
Alynwick does well to tip over a header from Hernandez off a cross from Ali
Oh - Pablo with an early header that had to be tipped over by the Bolton keeper. Great cross in from Ali.
Gluten Free Wheater heads away the Leeds corner.
Gluten Free heads out for another Leeds corner.
Welcome, UWS. A very happy anniversary to you and Kathy!
Leeds look like they're going to slice Bolton up every time they go forward
Ali wins a corner off a nice Leeds counter
Thank you Bob. The ceremony was at this very hour
Happy Anniversary . A great way to spend your anniversary. Any special plans today?
Talk about perfect timing . Celebrating right on the hour!
We need to settle it down.
Oldham in the lead vs Bury in a local derby
The big match at Anfield is the day between UWS's and Kathy's anniversary and my birthday
Oldham now two up.
Abe Lincoln in the lead vs Morecambe and much less wiser.
QPR have taken the lead over Boro at Loftus Road. I think that helps.
Bristol Rovers in the lead at the SOL! That's not idle gossip, to the disdain of Fred, but good news for UWS
Wolves take the lead vs Bournemouth
It does. Wally in the lead vs his former club
The Reading Railroad in the lead at the New York Stadium
of course, you ignored my score update from Loftus Road!
RELOAD before you post!!!
Mexican international, Raul Jimenez , with the goal.
The linesman takes one in the face - the crowd loves it.
The Tigers in the lead vs the Bees.
So grouchy even on your anniversary?
Pompey lost their first game in YONKS at home to Charlton midweek
Posh ties it up at the Shrews. Wycombe in the lead vs the Shrews.
Kathy isn't in the room at the moment! I'm allowed to be grouchy
We're starting to get our passing game going now.
Bob will feel that Sammy is not making a Pre Saiz decision with that move.
Ha! Nice one, mate.
Luca Mo almost dinks it over the keeper...nice run
McGinnis commits a foul at the free kick thankfully.
Lucas Mora gets behind Phil Bardsley and stabs a volley just wide off a nice long ball.
Hornets just stung Cardiff
1-1
Deulofeu with the goal
Blackburn in the lead vs Brum
Southend in the lead vs Accrington Stanley.
Sammy has had an up and down year for us. He often does some really nice things in not so dangerous areas. And then runs into trouble trying to dribble through the whole defense. He's only scored one goal all season and that was in the League Cup match with Derby when we slaughtered them early on.
Pablo had a go from distance after a lovely turn but it was blocked.
Motherwell two up at St. Johnny
Sounds like the move may be for the best. doesn't sound like he's been a really Pre Saiz player this season.
Jason Lowe went really Low as he did more than Klich the Leeds striker.
Well, I'm hoping that the gaffer has a deal lined up with someone interesting.
Tigers two up vs the Bees.
Douglas wins us a corner with his cross. Let's make this one count!
Barry Douglas has a cross headed out by Jack Hobbs for a Leeds corner.
Sammy's future club defeated Sociedad 1-0.
Southend two up vs Accrington Stan Lee.
Pontus Jansson goes in hard on McGinnis. Nothing doing from the ref.
A bit naughty by Pontus on Josh McGennis. Phil Parkinson more like Michael as he lets the fourth official have it
Forshaw got out of jail there, fortunately.
Kal Phillips clears for a corner off his own teammate
BPF palms away a corner from Noone in the late afternoon
Wow...a drop ball contested!
Leeds have been a tad bit sloppy in possession. Fortunately a poor side like Bolton is failing to capitalize.
a collector's item on your anniversary
Great close range block by Hart from Alli on a pass from Cissy
What an atrocious free kick
ooh, Leeds go close
Bolton survive as Alynwick makes a close range save from Klich off a pass from Shackleton.
Oxford Shirts wear their way to a lead vs the Tangerines.
