A very happy Monday afternoon, chaps. It's a bright and sunny day here in Fred-town. England are high on life at the moment. They were sensational against the Czech Republic on Friday night. Raheem Sterling proved he’s as dangerous as anyone in the world right now, Jadon Sancho, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ben Chilwell promised a bright future, while the likes of Harry Kane, Jordan Henderson, Ross Barkley and Harry Maguire were quietly and impressively dependable. Yay life!
The team news out of the Balkans:

That shows again the value of having a variety of weapons for the side. When we were just starting to look flat, a traditional style goal did the trick. No substitute for a good ball knocked into a big man.

Brilliant timing. They can't handle Sterling's bright forward play, defender puts an errant clearance right to Barkley who say ta very much. They'd been on the front foot a bit so it's nice to take the spice out of their revival.

Sorry, not a good enough excuse. If England were not playing so well, and scuffling around in the basement of the Nations League in poor form, you would bin it too. It's not that I dislike a championship, but this palaver is just a waste of space. Go back to the drawing board and make it worth the time. I'll watch England vs Tahiti if it's meaningful, but strange bald men belching up a meaningless competition over a rich lunch is no basis for a serious international competition.
