Sunday in the Prem
Yesterday's Premiership action was a tad underwhelming, with mid table match-ups that didn't mean a lot. This morning corrects that, with matches involving two of the big boys, Liverpool and Chelsea. We start at Craven Cottage, where Fulham are scrapping for every point. They face Liverpool, who have a chance to go top with Citeh busy with Cup duties this weekend. That's followed at 12:30pm with Chelski traveling to Goodison Park to meet Everton. If Cup action is your cuppa, we've also got the remaining Quarterfinal between Brighton and Millwall. Join me for a super Sunday.

Morning Boys
Still very upset by my lot. Not the loss but the performance.... Jose side of old... I DON'T WANT THAT!
I have the Premier League match on the telly and I am actually watching the Cup match on BBC1
BBC coverage has already started... Millwall used to play in Everton type blue but now they play in Old Scotland type blue
Just looked it up
They changed to the darker shirts in 2011
They had the shirt I was familiar with from 1936 with some white shirts scattered in.
They were this dark colored blue originally
Sorry for the random facts
So upsetting that City should have been knocked out!
I am fully in the Wolves corner for the Cup
They have made a few semis but not won the whole thing since 1960
Morning, UWS - great to have you on board today. Sorry about the United Cup result and performance yesterday. Not a good day for our Uniteds.
England v Czech Rep is on ESPN on Friday at 3:45. I should be home about the time of kick off
With Citeh on quadruple duty this weekend, a Liverpool win will take them back to the top of the table. Their away form has been a little squeaky of late, with nervy draws at West Ham, Manchester United and Everton, but their win in Munich on Wednesday was so convincing that it should have a positive impact on their away performances for the rest of the season.
I was about your lot as well...I think that a lot of teams that win a big head to head match seem to blow the weeks after... fingers crossed
Remember Ipswich beating Villa at Villa and then blow it v Arsenal.
Man U beating Leeds twice....Leeds win the league
It's is going to happen again
I think my BBC coverage is slightly behind the ESPN link but I am going to stay...I'll have the draw right after
I love this website that I can watch so many UK channels!
I just wish Skysports was there
Could be tricky for me; I've got a meeting Friday afternoon. I hate the new European Championship qualifying schedule. Who wants to watch a match on Friday afternoon/evening? And then there are no matches on Saturday? What a nonsense!
I think it gives players more rest after the second match going back to their league
Hate the empty stand behind the Brighton goal
IT IS AN FA CUP QUARTER FINAL!!
At least it is just the bottom tier that is bare
Hate the ... best title race in recent memory!!
What AGUERO?
What about United and Arsenal fighting it out to the very end
United beating Spurs to nip the title after being behind
United losing out to Blackburn when just one goal at Upton Park would have won it
Millwall on top to start
What is going to happen to United and Ole
Such a great run but now out of the cup, out of the top four and Barca next in the CL
Good morning, Bob and Dave, I will be here until the end of the match at Bob and Kate's. Will then be leaving to pick up Melanie for her Spring Break
The evil Lions started on top. Now A Seagulls set piece is really useless. ,
Northern Ireland international, Shane Ferguson wins a free kick down the left for the Evil Lions
Morning David
Spring Break...can't wait for mine
Teams in the "alleyway" at the Cottage now:
Fulham (4-2-3-1) Rico; Fosu-Mensah, Chambers, Ream, Bryan; Anguissa, Seri; Ayite, Cairney, Babel; Mitrovic.
Substitutes: Fabri, Odoi, Christie, Sessegnon, McDonald, Kebano, Vietto.
Liverpool (4-3-3) Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, van Dijk, Robertson; Wijnaldum, Fabinho, Lallana; Salah, Firmino, Mane.
Substitutes: Mignolet, Lovren, Moreno, Milner, Shaqiri, Origi, Sturridge.
Referee His name is Craig Pawson.
Do you need updates for the Chelsea match?
Free kick headed own into the ground and straight to Matty Ryan
Morning, MUR! I'm ending my Spring Break today, unfortunately. But it's been brilliant.
Updates will be great, thank you very much. I will try to see if I can listen to the match on Sirius Radio
It's weird. Jacquelyn and I end our Spring Break today and Melanie is beginning hers. I will be bring her back up on Friday, so probably won't be around for England vs the Czechs.
Something is up with my LOB window
The picture isn't showing. I only have question marks
The announcer said that Evil Lions keeper, David Martin , is the son of Alvin. I think Alvin and Chris Hughton were Hammers teammates the last couple seasons of their careers.Interesting connection.
Moment's applause at Bob and Kate's
We're about to get going now.
They're off from the Cottage.
Sunny in East London, but overcast in West London. South Texas looking more like West London.
Kate's wondering where she's supposed to be playing this morning.
Ryan Babbel playing against his former club, with a hairdew to match his former club's jerseys.
She'll be playing center forward, buit will need sunglasses on an overcast day due to Ryan Babbel's sprayed head.
I REALLY don't want Liverpool to win the League
I REALLY don't want City to win the Quadruple
I am REALLY torn
Talking about the best title race in years? Citeh were involved in two others that they won. They prevailed vs the same Liverpool in 2014 and United in 2012. That was really years ago!
A couple of early sniffs for Mo Salah, who could use a goal this morning.
The two Prem matches are Merseyside vs West London.
Nice one, MUR! I'll pass on that advice to Kate.
I think it is crazy that VAR is only used in Premier League stadiums for the FA Cup
City were gifted TWO goals that would have been cancelled out thru VAR
Looks like Bob will be replacing Yours Truly at the top , heading into the break.
Cheers, Bob. Glad to help.
A bowl of steaming hot, homemade oatmeal has arrived at my side. Perfect on a cold morning. Yum!
Anyone know why my pictures aren't showing on this window?
Agreed, UWS. Citeh were really lucky to advance. VAR will be used in the semis in the final since Wembley is technically a Prem stadium
MUR, who did you pick for CL?
I am a REAL Toffee fan this afternoon
Kate's not keen on Babbel's new do.
I was on Elizabeth's iphone and told Seri to have the Cottagers have a shot on goal. Bloody useless as the shot was high and wide.
Same for me here, too, UWS. I've got question marks rather than the usual icons. Hate it.
I don't remember who I picked. I think Barca. That's not definite.
I picked Man United and Wolves to meet in the Cup Final. So much for that. I get two points if Wolves lose in the Final.
MUR picked Barca for the CL; you picked Citeh, UWS.
Ok, glad it isn't just me
I picked City... I don't want them to win the Quad or Treb or Double but...
So, MUR is out of the CL running....United ruining that for you
David Martin saves a shot from Biram Kayal from just outside the box after a less then Proper cross was cleared
Can't believe Liverpool get past Bayern and get PORTO!
I was surprised to see that there weren't more Bayern picks for the CL winner. Only one person. Lots of people have picked Juve, probably because of Ronaldo.
The Den is a pretty impressive stadium
LOL! It sure seems that way. United also ruined it for me in the FA Cup
I am surprised so many PSG
Not many Man C
It's the modern version that opened in 1994. The old one was a horrible place to visit.
Long may it continue then
Nothing much is happening. Liverpool are starting to dominate the game, though at the moment everything is in front of the Fulham defence.
Ronny may be the reason Juve could win it
The Evil Lions the last Championship team left in the Cup. Fifth most cup wins since 2004. That's really impressive.
Liverpool with a chance from a corner...header...goes out for a throw in
I'll try to see what's going on with the blog. May be a browser issue.
Looks like a fairly even cup tie with the Seagulls improving the last few minutes
No problems here. For once I'm fortunate with technical issues,.
I heard that fact on the radio today
Made the Cup Final that season
Biram Kayal with a tame header in to the ground and easily saved by David Martin off a cross that was not a Knckaert, but knocked in.
Bernardo booked for a foul on Jed Wallace.
I remember that Cup Final well. Thoroughly enjoyed it and was when Skippy was one of the good guys.
Knockaert with a long range effort that was in danger of a fan being Knockaert, it was that far off target
Liverpool take the lead
Mane with the goal and are on top...as is Bob
GOAL! Mane on the end of a lovely team move there. They just sliced through the Fulham defense.
0-1 Reds!
GOAL !!! MANE OH MANE! HE CONTINUES WHERE HE LEFT OFF BY GIVING POOL THE LEAD.
Liverpool having been getting a lot of joy down their left and that continued with the goal ,. Pool won a tackle at the halfway line Robertson passed to Mane , who played a slide rule pass to Bobby F. He ran to the touchline and cut back for Mane to easily score.
Pool and Bob back on top.
That should probably let the floodgates open now.
Sane Duffy heads a far ost corner from Konockaert wide. The first half Seagulls performance has not exactly been a Knockaert
A Propper Evil Lions block for another Seagulls corner
A minute of stoppage time at the Evil Den even though the old one was far more evil.
Looks like the make-up match for Citeh is the Manc Derby at OT on Wednesday, April 24. Cor!
It is... I am on Spring Break that week
It's 0-0 at the half of the last Cup quarterfinal.
Liverpool are in complete control of this game, and are working Fulham so hard defensively with their constant switches of play.
Bit late for Spring Break, int it?
I'm off for Good Friday and Easter Monday. I think there's a full schedule of Championship matches that day. Hopefully, Leeds will have cl,inched promotion by then
Solo run by Andy Robertson and blocked at the near post by Sergio Rico.
Kate apologizes for being so ineffectual up front for the Cottagers today. She does make a mean bowl of oatmeal, though.
Nice run and pass by Ryan Babbel, but a long range effort from Tom Cairney is several feet over.
We can only hope. I am somewhat consoled after yesterday's debacle by looking at our run-in vis a vis the other sides. We're basically guaranteed a top three finish, by my reckoning. The next time we play, on March 30, we've got Millwall at home, which would seem pretty winnable. Meanwhile, Sheffield Utd have Bristol City at home and Norwich have Boro away, both more difficult fixtures.
No apologies needed, mate. The match has been played predominantly in the Cottagers half and the Cottagers are having trouble sustaining possession. Better service is needed.
Looks toughest for the Evil Blades as Boro are currently out of from.
Fabinho booked for a challenge that was anything but Fab
Agreed, mate - I blame Ryan Babbel's hair.
Fabinho should have had a second yellow for a nasty foul from behind .Kate is calling for him to be evicted?
Mane won a corner off FM.
Liverpool have been really sloppy since the goal, with a lot of wayward passing. They should have capitalized on that opening goal.
To specify what UWS stated, England vs Czech Republic on ESPN News . Match at Monte aw eek from tomorrow on Plus. Probably won't be around for either.
U.S. play Thursday evening then the evening of Tuesday the 26th. Won't be around from those due to tutoring.
A minute of stoppage time at Bob and Kate's
Half time arrives with Liverpool leading 1-0. They've barely had to get out of second gear to gain the advantage. If they were to unleash the hounds, they'd run away with this one.
Liverpool one up at the half
Half time at the Cottage... Liverpool half way to the top
The two U.S. matches on the deuce which means Ian and TT.
I don't get ESPN News...bugger
I will have to watch in on ITV I imagine
Back from the bog to see that I missed the first 86 seconds of the second half, but not a goal
Wonder if Plus will show the match on Friday?
Mix up in the Seagulls defense off a routine long ball.Miscommunication between Matty Ryan and Shane Duffy as the clearance from Ryan went off Duffy for a goal kick with Lee Gregory in hot pursuit.
Would tell you how the Toros home opener went, but you wouldn't want to know. They looked like United in disguise when Jose was manager.
Now cold, windy, and rainy in E London. Should be similar in the West End of town.
The closest the Seagulls have come to scoring as David Martin Knocked out a Seagulls effort.
The second half started at the Cottage while that effort was saved.
We're away in the second half at The Cottage. Liverpool in the driver's seat here.
The closest the Evil Lions have come to scoring as Alpha Romeu drove in, but his close range effort was blocked by Matty Ryan
The England match is on ITV so I will be able to watch it
Looks like some snowflakes are mixed in with the rain in East London
What an atrocious cross by Three First Names.... that could have landed in the Thames...except it was to the opposite side of the ground
When will the snow/sleet/rain reach Fulham
I will need to record the match because I will probably be bringing Melanie back to campus around that time.
LOL. Great description of the cross. Perhaps the bad weather can reach Bob and Kate's in the next half hour
Mane went down , looking for a penalty. Great tackle by FM, showing what he learned at the MUFC Academy.
I am happy to see that we're beyond the stage of meaningless friendlies and that the Euro 2020 qualifying is actually starting finally.
Shot from Williams straight to Matty Ryan off a pass driven in by Alpha Romeu
I guess it's starting better late than never.
Can United end their two game losing streak?
They have Watford at home on 3/30 and Wolves away on 4/2
Having been knocked out of the Cup, they have the Saturday off before the Barca match on 4/10
They then host West Ham on 4/13
Barca away on 4/16 and then at Everton on 4/21
We need to win all of the domestic matches
Lee Gregory put through and Matty Ryan rushed out to block for a corner. Jake Cooper heads just wide from the corner despite being well marked.
Solly marched on in March for Jahanbasch
A critical April for United. Thanks for the update, UWS.
Montoya booked for the Seagulls as players from both sides got needlessly involved. Evil Lions win a corner
Millwall take the lead
GOAL !!! ALEX PEARCE HEADS THE EVIL LIONS IN TO THE LEAD OFF THE CORNER FROM SHAUN WILLIAMS. POOR DEFENDING FROM LEWIS DUNK
Great back post header
Evil Lions on their way to Wembley for a semi for the first time since 2013?
Alex Pearce a former Leeds player?
Lee Gregory fouls Solly March in March . Seagulls set piece.
Decent free kick headed wide by Bernardo. Not exactly a Knockaert.
The weather from the Den has reached the Cottage
Yeah - Pearce was one of ours.
Superb tackle there from Tim Ream, but do they have to mention that he's American every time he touches the ball?
Locadia on for Kayal and Yzquierdo on for a Knockaert, which is what is about to happen to the Seagulls despite the final rolls of the dice from Chris Hughton.
Ball in the net... offside for Fulham... I thought it looked like it
TOTAL laziness by the Fulham players
Phew! Ayote has the ball in the net but it's flagged off.
BUGGER! KATE WITH A GOAL DISALLOWED FOR OFFSIDE. WELL OFFSIDE FOR THAT HEADER . NICE PLAY FROM MITROVIC AND CAIRNEY
Bob and Kate were both on their i phones , telling Seri to bring on Ryan Sess as a sub
FM heads out a teasing cross for a corner as his fellow Dutchman , Wijnaldum, wanted a penalty. Ref having none of it as it's a Pool corner
Brighton have just over 10 minutes to stay alive
Both these teams made a Cup Final... and both lost to Man U
TWO NIL LIONS!
They are going to Wembley
GOAL !!!! AIDEN O'BRIEN PUTS THE EVIL LIONS TWO UP
I think they could bother City
I'd like them to draw City and the two W's draw each other
Pathetic from the Seagulls. Long range effort blocked Then Jed Wallace went down the right off pathetic defending from Bernardo as his pass was diverted in from close range by O'Brien
Looks like this won't be going to ET, so I should be around for the semi draw.
Sala doesn't flop... stunning
The sleeping baby was woken up by the cheers for the goals!
Robertson wins a corner off a solo run down the left.
Origi on for Bobby F while FM down for the Cottagers. Milner on for Lallana.
Roberto Firmino troops off after an ineffective outing. LUFC Academy comes on.
Great curling corner from TAA headed off the top of the bar by Mane.
Like for like as Cyrus Christie is on for FM.
FULHAM HAVE SCORED!!
A REAL MESS UP AT THE BACK AND THE EX RED SCORES
Bad by Milner too
GOAL! Oh what a howler! Babbel runs in after some confusion between Van Dyck and Alisson and equalizes.
1-1! Game on!
Liverpool will now rue not taking their chances earlier. They need a goal.
GOAL !!! RYAN BABBEL TIES IT UP FOR THE COTTAGERS AND DOES NOT CELEBRATE. A ROUTINE LONG BALL HEADED BACK BY MILNER AND THEN A COLLECTOR'S ITEM AS VAN DYKE HEADS PAST ALLISON AND FELLOW DUTCHMAN SCORED A GIFT OF A GOAL.
Liverpool like the Tower of Babbel there?
Citeh and MUR back on top?
Goal... Brighton get a goal back
2-1 with two minutes plus stoppages remaining
Maybe it will go to Extra Time
GOAL !!! TIE BACK ON AS LOCADIA SCORES WITH A GREAT FINISH FOR THE SEAGULLS. GREAT DOWN THE RIGHT BY A SEAGULLS PLAYER. PASS BLOCKED THEN LOCADIA WITH A 180 DEGREE TURN TO SCORE WITH THAT GREAT FINISH
Former Leeds striker, Steve Morison , on for Lee Gregory.
A Barber shop quartet of stoppage time minutes at the New Den as the sun is back out
Penalty to Liverpool!!!!
Goal
Definite penalty there - Mane hauled down.
LUFC to step up for this vital spot kick....
Scores! 1-2 Reds!!!!
Phew!
PENALTY POOL .MANE STUPIDLY PULLED DOWN BY SERGIO RICO AFTER HE FAILED TO CATCH A TAME EFFORT FROM SALAH.
GOAL !!!! MILNER SCORES FROM THE SPOT TO PUT POOL 1-2 UP.
Brighton have a chance by spurn it
Last minute of the four added
Tim wasting sub from Neil Harris as Shaun Hutchinson on for Jed Wallace.
Stupid punch by the Loco Keeper
BRIGHTON HAVE SCORED WITH THE LAST KICK OF THE MATCH!!
GOAL !!! DESMOND AS A SEAGULLS FREE KICKED IS MARCHED IN DURING THE MONTH OF MARCH. CONCEDED BY SHANE FERGUSON.WENT STRAIGHT THROUGH THE KEEPER'S HANDS.
Terrible keeping!!
That is three keeper mistakes in quick procession
Extra time it is
It's headed to ET as witnessed by Desmond.
Brighton were two down in the 88th minute
What will Alvin Martin think of that goalkeeping error by his son?
Ayite looking like Shahite as he had his pocket picked by Mane . He put through Salah , whose shot was also just as bad as he shot nearly straight at Sergio Rico, clean through on goal
Extra time and possible penalties to come
Bot sides will be permitted one substitution since it's ET, which is underway
Couldn't happen to a nastier team. Come on, the Seagulls!
Curling effort from Salah high and wide.
Mitrovic down as they are about to enter stoppage time at B ob and Kate's
AN LOB blogging trio of stoppage time minutes at Bob and Kate's.
Don't you guys still have Millwall on the docket? You'd like them to have the Cup Semi Final on their mind!!
Host Millwall next
