Lakenheath Old Boys

We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

The Far Right Threat to the MLS

As the MLS begins its 23 year, the league is facing a new threat from right-wing, white power hate groups in its stands. As the Guardian reports today, this is particularly present with the New York FC club, whose Empire State Ultras fan clubs has become infested with members of The Proud Boys, a white nationalist group. MLS clubs need to stamp this nonsense out straight away or it'll pay the cost.

I'd love to hear from those of you who regularly attend MLS matches to see what you've seen.

Hey Bob, the only time I ever saw anything at DCU was in the 3rd season when some skinheads unfurled a Stormfront banner at RFK. Lots of people noticed it and told the stewards who had no idea of what Stromfront stood for so the banner stayed up for a half.

I think then many people in the stadium and the TV viewers besieged both DCU and the Home Sports Network, and security clawed down the banner. It's the only time I've seen that shit at RFK and never even from either hive of NYC or New Jersey scumbags. Those guys used to be given the upper deck at RFK where they launched missiles down on the rest of us, but nothing MAGA or racist.

Agreed, Bob. There is no room for this racist nonsense in the game. It needs to be stamped and kept out permanently. Great to hear Steve that this is not occurring on a regular basis. A shame that Don Garber has a such a tepid response when he should be strongly condemning this behavior.
