Lakenheath Old Boys
We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

The strains of Z Cars mean that the teams are coming out at Goodison. Here they are:
Everton: Pickford; Coleman, Keane, Zouma, Digne; Gomes, Gueye; Richarlison, Sigurdsson, Bernard; Calvert-Lewin. Subs: Stekelenburg, Baines, Jagielka, Davies, Walcott, Lookman, Tosun.
Arsenal: Leno; Mustafi, Sokratis, Monreal; Maitland-Miles, Guendouzi, Elneny, Kolasinac; Mkhitaryan, Ozil; Lacazette. Subs: Cech, Lichtsteiner, Ramsey, Suarez, Jenkinson, Iwobi, Aubameyang.
Referee: Kevin Friend.
A quick start from the Arsenal here.
Good Morning, Bob. How have you been?
Guendouzi has picked up an early yellow card for a rash one.
Morning, MUR! Doing just peachy. Had a nice lie in now settling in for some good stuff.
A French connection results in a booking for Hair Bear 2.0 after a nasty challenge for dining in on Digne
Same here , mate.In strange combination of matches, the Prem match may be more intriguing than the Cup semi
Morning boys,
I am back from walkies and putting some leaves down on the street
How refreshing both teams wearing traditional colors despite both with white shorts... Arsenal are one of the teams that ALWAYS change....very pleased
GOAL !!!JAGS GIVES THE TOFFEES THE LEAD.
Everton take the lead...Jags just brought into the team and he puts them ahead!
This is crucial for United....United have to come to Goodison too
Good morning, Dave. Talk about perfect timing
Morning, UWS - great timing! That Everton goal you were hoping for has come in the improbable form of Phil Jagielka!
1-0 Toffees!
If Arsenal win this one, they would be 5 points clear of United...now it is only two....crucial. A draw isn't that good for United either
Not sure why Marco Silva is getting so excited - Everton in truth have nothing to play for in the end of this season, save to be a spoiler in other team's Champions League hopes.
A really scrappy goal off what may have been a foul throw. Long throw from Digne where one foot appeared to be in play back headed by Kolasinac , kept alive by Calvert-Lewin and smashed in from close range by old man Jags , who is only in the side because Michael Keane took ill.
Wish we had come to Goodison Park already...looks like a tough match
I did feel confident of making the top four but the losses to Arsenal and Wolves has changed my mind. I don't think we will make it
Spurs have Citeh but so do United
United's run in is good at the end but some tricky ones before that
West Ham H
Everton A
City H
Chelsea H
Huddersfield A
Cardiff H
The Toffees now are only one point out of 7th , so L footie is a reality, despite playing one more match than the two cup semifinalists
Rangers have won 0-3 at Motherwell. Celtic need two more wins to clinch yet another SPL title.
Tough schedule for United , especially the match at Goodison, the Manc Derby, and vs Chelsea. Will have to spring some upsets to qualify for the CL.
Arsenal
Watford A
Palace H
Wolves A
Leicester A
Brighton H
Burnley A
Spurs
Huddersfield H
City A
Brighton H
West Ham H
Bournemouth A
Eveton H
Chelsea
West Ham H
Liverpool A
Burnley H
United A
Watford H
Leicester A
Advantage Spurs?
Jay Leno Bernd by Calvert-Lewin , forced to conceded a throw, but the Toffees don't take advantage.
Very tough schedule, but I still fancy you for a top four finish.
Socrates down off what appeared to be minimal contact by Gomes Addams. Quite an adjustment to the Prem after being signed from the Philosopher's Football team
Looks like Arsenal have some tough away games
So do Chelsea
It is going to be close
OH WHY DIDN'T WE GO THREE UP AT WOLVES!!!
OGS says we need fifteen points to make the top four
5 wins out of 6
Looks like the two North London clubs should be the favorites to qualify for the CL. Chelsea could by winning the EL
Don't see that happening. Will have to spring some upsets
Just looked at the local radar . Some nasty weather headed our way . If the power gives out then may have to watch the Cup semi on the phone.
Socrates anything but a philosopher as he fouls Calvert-Lewin to prevent a promising Toffees break.
Horrible Toffees effort. Marvin Gueye would not have done any worse.OH MERCY MERCY ME!
I'm not sure that you need to win five out of six. That's probably too much.
The Pythons would not be pleased with Socrates first half performance. Is that correct?
I think OGS said that because the two North London clubs have a fairly easy run in.
In midweek, the Evil Blades and Leeds swap their opponents from yesterday. Your thoughts?
They do, but do Spurs have five wins there? I don't think so. Three wins at most.
I was reading the comments and missed the Gunners injury. I read something in Lacazette about the Addams Family!
Cal-Le was sent down the left...he kept out wide and put in a weak cross...he had space and he should have cut torward goal as soon as he could
I looked at the Spurs schedule and other than losing to Citeh not sure who else would defeat them. The emotion of playing in the new stadium must be a huge advantage to them
Lacazette has spent more time on the floor than actually doing anything. He's only scored seven goals this season. How on earth does he get a starting place in this side?
Siggy shoots straight at Jay Leno. Catching practice for the former late nigh host
Well, if Everton are beating Arsenal, why wouldn't they beat Spurs?
Di you witness that or read about in La Cazette???
Gunners have the two Ws and the Foxes away, who are a similar quality to the Toffees. We can only hope.
Rich Arlison goes on a solo run and wins a corner off a quick free kick from Siggy
Useless front post corner
Not a good day for DC United yesterday
Losing 4 nil at home to LA and Roon sent of
Surely, Aabama will be replacing Lacazette, not Bush!
Saw that I was really surprised.
A wild match in Orlando the day after the anniversary of my mom's passing. Orlando came from behind with two late goals to defeat Colorado 4-3. Nani named MOTM
A pair of stoppage time minutes
Toffees one up at the half. How sweet it is!
Ht at GP
So far so good for me. I am being selfish
Half-time. You're right; not a good weekend for the Dahlgren boys. I spoke with the Gooner last night and he was not happy with the DC United.
Cursing in the Streets of Alex? Gooner not a happy chappy.
Away we go for the second half
Arsenal make some changes
Second half underway and a double substitution from the Emery Board.
Ramsey and Aubama on with El Neny and Kolasinac off. Much needed attacking switches.
We're back underway at Goodison. The Arsenal will have to do a damn sight better than one shot on goal in this half.
Race for the top four
All four teams are busy in Europe... I think Spurs and United are favorites to drop out. Could the Europa League hurt Arsenal and Chelsea?
Ramsey knocks one over the bar after a poor punch by Pickford
Wind picking up and sky turning a charcoal gray color. A storms a brewin'?
Heard that Pickford caused a ruckus in his home town of Sunderland earlier this week,.. A tad naughty
Andre the Giant Gomes Addams booked for a push from behind on Aaron Ramsey
Had a punch up.... why put yourself in that position
Who ends up in the Champions League Final, mate?
City vs Barca
The Semi Finals have already be drawn
Spurs/City vs Ajax/Juve
Barca/United vs Liverpool/Porto
Everton should have doubled their lead there
If it's a Manc Derby, I'd love to come out and visit. What do you think?
Siggy volleys over...I think he had time to bring it down and hit the target
Sounds like a great plan....but HIGHLY doubtful
You could come out anyway
Arsenal have made a decent start but they need to make some changes. They need more punch up front.
Cheers, mate - I really appreciate it. I've been dying to visit for a while.
Cal-Le should have played that out wide
Oh - Siggy had a chance to bury this one. Hit it right at Jay Leno.
Alex Iwobi to come on - not the most inspiring choice.
Another big chance for the Toffees go a begging
Cambridge win the Boat Race
When I look at this Arsenal side, about half of them don't deserve to wear the shirt IMhO -
Leno, Mustafi, Maitland-Miles, Guendouzi, Elneny, Kolasinac; Lacazette.
Another Toffee chance... saved by Leno
Decent save there by Jay Leno from Bernard. Everton should have won this one already.
Mustafi hacks down Cal-Lew and gets a yellow
Mustafi picks up a yellow for a professional foul on Calvert-Lewin. The Everton bench wanted a red but Kevin Friend thought otherwise.
Ozil chucked his jacket.... was that for being subbed?
If Arsenal dig this one out, it will be wholly undeserved.
He threw it at the manager??
Now it's Monreal into the book for dissent. Silly boy.
Everton should be out of sight in this match....they worry me for the United visit
Into the last minute of the 90
Just in time to ruin UWS' morning, it's a late, time-wasting substitution by Marco Silva. Siggy makes way for Tom Davies.
More pointless substitution that will just add more added time!
This will end just before the Semi Final
I think my old neighbor from Via Lino is going to come over for the second half
5 added minutes... this added time is just ridiculous
3 minutes used to be a lot!!
What side are you on for the Semi Final?
Everton finishing this match looking for a second goal. No urgency from the Arsenal at all.
Wasted possession for the Toffees...silly offside for not putting it in the box
I'm for Wolves - I quite like them as a team and I've got a mate here who is a massive Wolves fan.
I know that Watford won the toss and will be wearing their black and yellow stripes
Wolves will be in all white....haven't won in that kit all season
Me too...despite them knocking out United AND harming our Top Four chances!
Into the last minute... Arsenal still not creating anything... last chance saloon
Corner... can Everton hold out? I want them to of course
Cleared.... and that is it
Everton do United, Spurs and Chelsea a big favor
Now off to Wembley!!
That's it - Arsenal have a really poor day out in Scouseland. Great for you lot.
Next up is the Cup semi - here is the team news:
Watford: Gomes, Femenia, Mariappa, Cathcart, Holebas, Doucoure, Capoue, Hughes, Pereyra, Deeney, Gray.
Subs: Janmaat, Deulofeu, Masina, Sema, Quina, Foster, Kabasele.
Wolverhampton: John Ruddy, Saiss, Coady, Boly, Doherty, Dendoncker, Joao Moutinho, Neves, Jonny, Jimenez, Jota.
Subs: Bennett, Ivan Cavaleiro, Helder Costa, Gibbs-White, Ruben Vinagre, Norris, Traore.
Referee: Michael Oliver (Northumberland)
I am sure Wembley is full unlike yesterday
Link is going... thanks again mate
My link paused so I rebooted it
It is a little blurry too
We are off
ooh....just over from Wolves!
What a good start
We're away at Wembley. It goes without saying that I don't like the idea of having the semis at Wembley. Spoils the final, I think. Should be at Villa Park or Old Trafford or Elland Road or such.
Totally agree with you
Wembley loses it's luster with the semis being here
Spurs playing here too doesn't help either
Also there is the Emirates and Spurs new stadium...plenty of choices
Even the Millennium Stadium could be a choice....just make the Wembley visit special
Wolves have a free kick inside the D
Ref waited to see if he could get the shot off and then called the foul... well done ref
Get it on target
Just outside the D... lands on top of the goal
Gomes didn't move for that
Wolves beat Watford 10-0 in 1912.... didn't know Watford has been around that long
my picture still blurry... annoying
Both teams going forward.
I am pleased
Two up front for both.... what an amazing idea?
First card of the day. Refs like to give cards
Rebooting my link again
Struggling to load... very annoying
Sorry, mate - I'm still not that keen on the Plus.
Finally back... the boys are using the internet around the house too much!
These sides seem fairly well matched at present. Watford have settled well.
LOL! Tell those boys to knock it off!
It has allowed us to watch a lot of stuff!
Just as a free kick came over my screen went black!
We will miss it next year
Free kick chance for Watford
Either of these teams could give City a game in the Final
Chance of a half volley.... sliced horribly
I used the exact same words to describe the Watford chance
Still annoyed with these damn question marks!
The word is that Elton John is not at Wembley, and is concentrating on rehearsals for what will be his final world tour. Poor form from Fat Reg.
What's happening next year, mate?
Oh - Andre Gray nearly snuck in there to score. Maybe should have used his head but the keeper would've probably cleaned him out.
Gray has a chance that he hits over the bar
Nice shot and well saved by Gomes
GOAL!!!
WOVLES TAKE THE LEAD!!!!
GOAL! Doherty nods Wolves into the lead. Somewhat against the run of play?
VAR is on display today but there is no offside there
Jimenez has been on loan at Wolves all season and they just bought him outright for 30 mil this week
He has won at Wembley a few times... at Spurs this season and in the Gold Medal game at the Olympics
ooh...just wide by Wolves again
Wolves to win the Cup will have to have beaten Liverpool, United and City.... quite a trio of scalps!
Deserved
They're a good side, for sure. But they'll lose in the Final to Citeh, probably. It'll be enough for a first season back in the Prem, but where do they go from here?
2 added minutes
Great block by Coady... I thought that was the equalizer
That's half-time, then. Wolves with a narrow advantage. Should be an absorbing second half. I'm off to the shower. Back in a tick.
Last chance saloon for Watford from a corner...cleared and the ref blows
Ht
Wolves half way to Wembley...wait a minute...they are already there.... half way to the Final
ESPN back for the second half... those red seats still very visible...why doesn't anyone from the FA care about it...I guess they are already payed for!
We are off
Can't believe it has been twenty years since the last semi final replay!! What a game that was!
I remember watching the highlights on Fox Sports World
Great hit by Jimenez
Wolves almost in again
My neighbor is here with the Wolves scarf I bought him
Robert takes a long shower!!
ooh....just wide from a free kick from the left
I'm back from a refreshing shower. Did I miss anything?
Wolves had a couple of chances
Neves tries a pop but gets it all wrong this time.
I still fancy Watford getting something from a set piece.
Holebas gets a yellow for a "professional" foul.
GOAL! Great take down and shot from Jimenez!
TWO NIL WOLVES!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Had a masked hidden...what a numpty
A bit of a Nacho Libre celebration from Jimenez there. Will the ref book him for that?
VAR deciding on the offside element now. Goal given!
2-0 Wolves!
There is VAR....I think it should count.... It is two nil
He looks offside to me - I dunno.
A long way back now for the Hornets.
Again... Wolves would deserve the Cup having beaten Liverpool, United and City
Was on side
29 minutes from the Final
Watford need to stop fouling and get on with it.
Absolutely - if they can beat Citeh in the Final, they'll be deserved champions. I don't see it happening though, unless CIteh are stretched too thin at that point trying to chase the quadruple.
Citeh struggled against Wolves this year
Almost in for a third... bad control
Great cross by Watford...no one got on the end of it
This guy is full of running for Wolves
Great block of a shot
Wolves survive again
Great goal by Delafeu.... game on
It was coming
Why give him so much time!!!!
Brilliant goal
GOAL! Brilliant strike from Delafeu!
Game one!
Still ten minutes plus stopppage time
10 minutes left now for Watford to dig this one out.
Wolves are sitting back too much!!!
Watford really giving it a go - great finish to this match!
I can see Watford scoring again
Near post corner...of course.... cleared for another one from the other side
SHOOT!!!
Totally agree with Martin... need to attack to stay on top
Wolves put a big chunk Ryan Bennett on for Ruben Neves now.
Pointless subbing started
Keeper drops at it first but gets it at the second try
How was that good goalkeeping from Ruddy? He dropped it in the area!
Oh - Holebas squanders a great opportunity.
Great move by Watford... igh, wide and orrible
more subbing
And another irritating late substitution from Nuno - he's trying to eke out a few more seconds.
We are in the last of the 90... backs to the wall by Wolves
