We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Afternoon, chaps! It’s a bumper evening of Uefa-endorsed, Carabao-flavoured action and no mistake. There are no less than 33 League Cup fixtures, unless I’ve miscounted in which there might be less than 33 fixtures. Plus there are Champions League and Europa League qualifiers to sprinkle a little stardust over proceedings.

Lots of changes there but still a really tasty side.

This is another match where we could easily have worn our white shirts with change shirts rather than this naff grey and pink number.
Kal has a pop from distance. The Salford keeper smothers is easily.

Yeah - this is very satisfying, mate. I just want a clean sheet now. We've given up a couple of sloppy goals so far, so I want to see us manage this.

I can't see these guys being fit enough to stay with proper professionals. It should be a cricket score at the end.

I'm hoping that Bielsa opts for a forward line of Eddie alongside Patrick Bamford at some point.

Bamford's the only true target man that we've got. We saw in the first half that no one in this starting line-up was willing to stick his head in where it hurts. I think young Jack Clarke ran in the opposite direction when Alioski crossed to him once.
Oh - Bamford picked off a backpass there but couldn't finish it.
Phew! Kiko with more heroics and then Rooney the Younger put the rebound wide.
Looks like Celtic are bollixing up their Championship season today. They need to score one or else Cluj are going through.
Harrison goes down and should have got a penalty.

Well, that was a very satisfactory outing indeed. Three more goals and a clean sheet to boot. MOT on to the 2nd Round of the League Cup now.
