League Cup 1st Round Tuesday!
We've barely gotten started with the season and somehow we're already at the First Round stage of the League Cup. This evening, my beloved Leeds United take on Salford City away. This will be chance for Marcelo Bielsa to run out some of the Academy kids and others who rarely get a match. While the League Cup isn't a priority for us this season, I'd love to see us continue our early form and notch a professional win tonight. Come on, you Leeds! #MOT!

Afternoon, chaps! It’s a bumper evening of Uefa-endorsed, Carabao-flavoured action and no mistake. There are no less than 33 League Cup fixtures, unless I’ve miscounted in which there might be less than 33 fixtures. Plus there are Champions League and Europa League qualifiers to sprinkle a little stardust over proceedings.
Wahay! I've got the feed up and running on the Plus.
The team news for Leeds: Casilla, Davis, Berardi, White, Shackleton, Phillips, Alioski, Klich, Clarke, Costa, Nketish
Lots of changes there but still a really tasty side.
And we're away from Salford
I couldn't sign in!
Go on Eddie!
Leeds controlling the tempo right from the off.
I'm really loving how comfortable on the ball Ben White is.
Was Clark loaned back this season?

Yeah - Spurs loaned him back to us the day that he signed for them. Cynical sods.
Nice interplay between Costa and Nketiah but Helder couldn't make it count.
Complain about fleas when you lay with spuds.
Beesley wins a corner off Davis for Salford.
Oh - cleared off the line by Clarke!
This is another match where we could easily have worn our white shirts with change shirts rather than this naff grey and pink number.
Kal has a pop from distance. The Salford keeper smothers is easily.
Costa is getting a wee bit frustrated by the physical attention he's receiving. He'll have to keep his head today.
Lovely mazy run from Clarke wins a corner.
MOT!
Phew Quick break after an attack by us and Kiko had to save sharply from Beesley.
A reminder from the commentator that we'll go straight to penalties if we're tied at 90 minutes. Just as well - we don't really need either extra time or a replay.
I want to see a bit more dynamism from our front pairing.
Nice ball in from Ali but Clarke didn't fancy the header.
Oh - nearly an own goal there. We'll take whatever.
We're creating some pretty patterns but few real chances. I was hoping to be a goal up by now.
Charlie Austin has scored nine minutes into his debut for West Bromwich Albion.
Billel Omrani has put Cluj a goal up at Celtic Park, with the Romanian side now 2-1 up on aggregate.
First real chance for us - Kal with a blast and the keeper with a tip over.
Oh - now the keeper has to tip around a drive from Clarke. We're knocking on the door now.
Kiko came for that free kick and had to take two bites at it. Makes me nervous.
Klich wins a corner. This one has to go in, boys!
Great cross over but no one waiting for it.
A promising move ends with a blast over the bar from Ali.
YESSSSS!!!!!
Eddie Nketiah taps home after a lovely team move.
0-1!
That's exactly what we needed after all of the patient build up. Now if we could get Helder on the scoresheet, this would be a very satisfactory outing indeed.
Super, Super Ed, Super, Super Ed, Super, Super Ed, Super Ed Nketiah!
Phew! Big chance for Salford is cleared out by White for a corner.
There's the half-time whistle then. We troop in 0-1 up, thankfully. Hoping we can see this one out without too much drama.
Their number 20 is Crouchy-tall.
Second half starting up now. More of the same, boys.
They seem to be Route 1 merchants, despite the Man United Class of '99 affiliation.
Dang, Eddie was away if but for his final touch.
Eddie loves the sight a bit of green grass to run into. He can really put on the afterburners.
Shekshe football doesn't get you very far in the County Leagues. They do what works.
Hmmm... I've never seen that before. The ref got in the way and blew up to call for a drop ball. New rule?
I've never seen it either. Weird.
YESSSS!!!!!
Berardi nips in at the near post to flick home Costa's corner.
0-2!
Caught them sleeping with a clever finish. That's a goal that Mustafi would not have stopped.
Oh - Great ball over from Ali but Klich couldn't control the volley. That would have put the icing on the cake.
Another good stop from Kiko!
YES! A quick break and Klich scores a screamer!
Home and hosed now, surely. Klich for your third.
Another sharp save from Kiko! He's definitely earning his corn today. I just hope we can see out a clean sheet now.
Yeah - this is very satisfying, mate. I just want a clean sheet now. We've given up a couple of sloppy goals so far, so I want to see us manage this.
I've just noticed that we're only just past the hour mark. Still plenty of time to bag some more goals.
I can't see these guys being fit enough to stay with proper professionals. It should be a cricket score at the end.
Baker, Candlestick-Maker coming on in a double substitution.
And this guy for you, is he old enough to be out this late?
A debut outing for Andy McCalmont who comes on for Clarke.
Eddie receives some love from the away support and on comes Bamford.
A couple of late cameos for Patrick Bamford and Jack Harrison coming on for Alioski and Nketiah respectively.
I'm hoping that Bielsa opts for a forward line of Eddie alongside Patrick Bamford at some point.
Little and large formation. Could work.
10 minutes left here. Would love to see one or two more of the boys getting onto the scoresheet here.
Bamford's the only true target man that we've got. We saw in the first half that no one in this starting line-up was willing to stick his head in where it hurts. I think young Jack Clarke ran in the opposite direction when Alioski crossed to him once.
Oh - Bamford picked off a backpass there but couldn't finish it.
Phew! Kiko with more heroics and then Rooney the Younger put the rebound wide.
Looks like Celtic are bollixing up their Championship season today. They need to score one or else Cluj are going through.
Harrison goes down and should have got a penalty.
Decent hit from Klich but it's saved by the keeper.
Just seeing out the stoppage time now.
Well, that was a very satisfactory outing indeed. Three more goals and a clean sheet to boot. MOT on to the 2nd Round of the League Cup now.
