We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Megxit!

Any thoughts about Harry and Meg's choice to abandon the Royal Family duties - what is being dubbed "Megxit" in Blighty this week? I'm an anti-royal from way back, so this won't come as a surprise, but it strikes me that if leading members of the Windsor mob are running away from Britain to take on a Kardashian lifestyle in LA, why on earth don't the Brits abolish the institution already?

I agree, mate. If Harry and Meg are living the Hollywood lifestyle then aren't they basically resigning from the royal family? If the royal family is not being abolished then only allow those that are staying in the U.K. to be part. I agree with you that they are high paid spoiled brats, who live a luxurious lifestyle and do a few ambassadorial duties. Back in the day the royal family may have had its purpose, but not they are really obsolete. That's my tuppence worth.

That's the way it would seem to me, mate. Unfortunately, I suspect that they'll want to have their cake (that is, maintain their statuses as royals), while eating it to (that is, escaping UK taxes and tabloids).
